To the owner of Kaizen Beauty Academy: This is very aggravating to do but it's too much. I am a student at Kaizen Beauty Academy and I've been attending for a total of two months(08/09/2021 to be exact), and since my very first day I over heard my teacher and the principal speaking about the air conditioning is broken again. It's been two whole months since that conversation and THE AIR CONDITIONING STILL BROKEN!!!! It's extremely hot in those small rooms full is student, we literally have small fans in the rooms, imagine doing a facial with no air conditioning plus the steamer! My profesional product is going bad because of the humidity. We need this to be fix immediately! For the amount of money that we paid the air conditioning is the minimum we deserved not to say we are in a middle of a PANDEMIC for a virus the lives in heat. read more

I would never recommend this place for their Rudest management at their counter service/trainer they are very rude specially last time i went there this lady after the service asked me to pay $21 for the service which was almost $6 more than I was told, when i asked that I paid $8 than $11 and last time $15 for the same service in 1 year so now is it $21 for the same service? The lady who's not at the counter but was standing there on the floor who told me the price was so rude and insulting she said that she's the DIRECTOR of this place and said cuz I was rude to their student!! So I've to pay $21. I would never do so that's absolutely wrong and I asked the student in front of her and everyone did I say anything wrong to you honey or misbehaved? Even the student was shocked to BOSS's behavior with me than this lady told me I don't want your money just leave this place and never show up here. Roaches, dirty bathroom and packed classrooms! This is not the school that you would be proud to say that you have graduated from. People have been trying to get their license from the school for little over a year. Yes, it may look good from the outside but in the inside it's not wroth it. You will feel like you have wasted your time and money. There are a number of times that the school has been without educators. Please, speak with students who are now enrolled and if you happen to know anyone who has graduated ask them. Again, DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Update: I went in this week to fix the issue I had with my last coloring. The instructor was all ears and understood that I wanted to leave happy and without the brass left in last time. They paid very close attention to detail and were fully adept to having me leave happy and stay happy. The toner was used and the highlights were trippled and my hair no longer looks like a disaster- it's perfect now! Thank you for being so understanding and restoring my faith in your establishment. She was very focused on the job @ hand (LOL) and with the guidance of her instructor, Miss Danielle she did an amazing job. The other students were happy to share their supplies. Unfortunately after getting two great haircuts,trims, here I had a disastrous one and a year later in still grieving ... I went for a dramatic change and asked for 10 inches to be cut off so I could donate . After explaining the style I wanted to the stupid. The instructor stepped in and chopped off 15 inches giving me exactly the haircut I didn't want. I almost started to cry and she told me that's what it looks like in the picture I showed her .... It definitely didn't and a year later I am still trying to get the chunky layers out and get used to this horrible style. I believe if the student did it. It would have been what I wanted .... I am a former student here and actually didn't even get to finish here because of the disrespect and unprofessionalism of the skin care teach milady and the disrespectful administrator tanya. the skin care teacher would not teach anything and would get mad when we would ask questions. She would also not let us leave early (meanwhile she just sat at her desk the whole time not teaching) but she did have time to talk about religion and marijuana to the class. I was not comfortable with this so I asked tanya the administrator to help me transfer and all I received was attitude. Tanya then made milady call me and be even more disrespectful on the phone. I ended up transferring to a better beauty school and they took forever to send my transcripts and even lied on how many services/hours I did so I had to start from 0. So, I waited until I got my license to write this review. If you're looking for a school where you'll be taught and have real hands on training then, this school definitely is not the one for you. Let's start with the teachers, aside from the cosmetology teacher and the nail teacher during the day, you won't learn much of anything from them. The facial teachers knows about the industry but, she refuses to teach. She reads verbatim from the book and shows you one or MAYBE two demos of facials and that's it. There's no real teaching structure. If you don't ask questions, she won't teach. She can be very defensive and has a bad attitude. You have to stroke her ego for her to be at least decent to you. The nail teacher at night is a cosmetologist, however, she doesn't have much skills with nails. It was like she was learning with us. To me, that's unacceptable when you're paying a school all of this money to teach you. So, if you don't already have a foundation, you'll be pretty much on your own. As far as the office staff, it was hard for them to stay up to date with hours. Hours were not posted weekly as they should have been. At times, some of us were missing a significant amount of hours and had to have them fixed because they were either not put in correctly or not put in at all. Your best bet is to keep a calendar and write down everyday that you come. They overcrowd the classrooms with more and more students knowing that they can't accommodate everyone. But, these days, you may be able to get a seat because once the new students get a feel of how the school really is, they stop showing up. They sell the school really well when you're signing up but, you'll see the real deal afterwards. There have been complaints made but, nothing is really done about it. The supplies that they give you, you can pretty much get from Dollar Tree or Walmart. They expect you to buy your own products and use YOUR PRODUCTS on THEIR CLIENTS while they're the ones getting paid for the services. Some clients tip but, some don't. So, when you run out of your products. You have to use your money to repurchase them and still use them on their clients. How is that fair to us? We've already paid or have taken out massive amounts of loans and now you still want us to buy and use or own products? That's not right at all. Also, they require tons of services for credits but, they hardly get enough people to come. They tell you in the beginning to invite some people to come in then, after you sign, they almost make it a requirement for you to recruit people to come get serviced. Our job is not to advertise, that's the schools job to pay for advertisements and marketing. And, why would we invite people to a place where they're supposed to feel relaxed and pampered when everything is outdated and rinky dink looking? The pedicure cure area looks like it hasn't been steamed or sterilized for ages. There were roaches every now and then. And, the water machine stopped working and no one cared to fix it. Good luck with getting a drink of water! I'm only writing this review because I want people to have the fair warning that I wish I had before signing up to this place. It was a struggle to finish because a dreaded going to this place every night. Sometimes, there's only like 3 to 4 students in a class because people leave the school so quickly. And, sometimes, it's only 2. I'm speaking on the night classes. Please do your research before going to this school. You deserve the proper education that you're paying your hard earned money for, don't settle for less if you really want to learn and have a great school experience. read more

Came here for my 2nd time with Yasmin. She is great , very attentive and she cares. I was very happy with my highlights and the price. The only thing I would have to say about this place is the teacher or person in charge is a bit serious with her students. She barely cracks a smile and 2nd guesses her students enough that I feel worried. As a customer she could be warmer and more pleasant. Other then that, the price is reasonable. read more

Once there, the professors and students were very nice and attentive. My hair was done by Gavin and he did a marvelous job!! My hair looks beautiful and I am very happy with the results. It was a great experience for me. If you go in knowing that you will be in a learning environment it works. The students were great and their instructor really knows her stuff. I got my underarms, neck and a little chest hair waxed (no shame in my game, I got it from my daddy :) The experience was mostly painless for me but I'm used to waxing. Let's just say you are getting the education you are paying for. As someone who has spent years enhancing their education through continued education, this is the worst school I have attended. The daytime skincare instructors are unprofessional, and uneducated in the field. You will have to fight for your education, or you will not get a good one. The students keep their comments and opinions amongst themselves because they are afraid that the instructor will treat them badly and give them low grades. If a student even dares to advise the school director/owner, it always backfires since there is a no confidentiality rule they have where they discuss everything you said with the teacher and tell them it was you. If you dare to begin the daytime skincare program, beware of the bipolar behavior of Kim Resnick, the instructor. She is rude to students from all cultures unless they are American and speak perfect English. She will say the night class drives her crazy, as an excuse to treat the daytime students in a harsh and disrespectful manner. If you have recently read any positive reviews on their facebook about the skincare program, it is falsified. The new graduates have decided to put a facade so they will receive their license with no problems. So many students have left this program dissatisfied and complaining that they didn't learn how to do basic procedures, such as use hard wax. read more

I just went to Kaizen to get a pedi, facial and waxi. My friend went for hair color and was very pleased . I have never had such a great facial. The students and Elizabeth, their teacher, were absolutely incredible and well-informed. I definitely trusted them. At first i was a bit scared b/c they were students. My experience with my service was great. Jackie who is the teacher was wonderful. She was helpful and right there helping her student. I love my hair. With that being said there is a guy who works there name Steven. I found him very unprofessional, rude, language , and topic of conversation just disturbing.
