Dr. Gregory Lung is the very best at what he does, not only technically but personally. He made certain that I was comfortable throughout the procedure (extraction of 4 teeth). Once he numbed me, I didn't feel a thing! Great experience! Dr. Lung's dental assistant, Labry, was just as good. She kept reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. She too was just as caring and professional! Throughout the procedure, Dr. Lung called out what was needed and not once did he have to repeat himself. (He also kept sharing the credit of the success of the procedure with Labry each time I thanked him!) This office is located in a building across the street from Don Quijote Kaheka. You may only see them twice a year or during an emergency, but you want someone who knows you and genuinely cares. I tried a couple of dentists but never felt comfortable. Then I came across an ad featuring Dr. Jeff Miyazawa and decided to give his practice a try. He is in Kaneohe and I live in Ewa, so it is definitely a drive--but he is absolutely worth it. From the beginning, his staff made me feel welcome and comfortable, especially Christine. She is incredibly friendly, warm, and helpful. She listened to my concerns and carefully explained all of my options without making me feel pressured or judged. Dr. Miyazawa was also very personable and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. For years, I had a small chip in one of my front teeth. It may have seemed minor, but it was noticeable to me in pictures and affected how I felt about my smile. Another dentist had previously repaired it, but the repair did not last very long. Yesterday, Dr. Miyazawa repaired my two front teeth, and I could immediately see the difference in the level of care. He was extremely meticulous. He did not simply cover the chip and send me on my way. He made sure my smile looked balanced, also worked on my bottom teeth, and paid close attention to every detail. This was definitely not a rushed ten-minute job. I am so grateful to Dr. Miyazawa and his staff. I feel more confident, and I finally love my smile again. It feels like he gave me back the smile I used to have. I highly recommend him--especially if you are looking for a dentist who is skilled, caring, personable, and truly listens. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and zero regard for patients. I'd been complaining about my tooth for months and was told nothing was wrong. Enduring the pain, turned out to be fractured....causing an issue that could have been avoided. Staff informed me that this nearly $1500 procedure where I was responsible for at least half would be "no problem" when I asked to pay monthly, so I agreed to the amount where they said we can work out the payments after. But in the end they demanded full payment immediately and refused any partial payment. To me, it's insult to injury when this was an inconvenient bill that could've been prevented. The fact that I've ALWAYS paid the full amount no matter the cost and asked for them to work with me tells me they DON'T know their customers and they are NOT a family oriented business. Unless my mind is changed, help me find a new dentist!!

The seats of the chairs were all sunken so low, it took effort to stand once seated. In the treatment room the equipment was in keeping with the 1970s as well, and a little worn out. The dentist chair I was put in had a broken arm rest hanging limply , and unusable. A dental office waiting area should be welcoming cheerful, and provide some activity that can distract the nervous patient. Most have a flat t.v broadcasting a news channel. The reading material is so dog eared and old to be of interest. How any medical practice presents itself is a declaration of how the level of care to be expected; impeccable presentation=excellent care is likely. Tasaki presented poorly. It can also be a red flag for financial difficulty in the medical practice. A waiting room that is nearly always empty is also concerning. Why? You may be at risk of being sold unnecessary procedures when these these conditions are present. If I could give negative stars, I would. My friend of 20 years sent me to Tasaki with the history of his daughters and father all long standing patients. I learned the hard way what happens when a shining review comes from a patient who has never been treated by any other dentist. It is an unqualified referral, period. All my life, the initial exam goes as follows: 1. teeth cleaning 2. tooth by tooth oral exam with notable findings logged on to a chart illustrating upper and lower teeth. 3. Dr. explains his findings. 4. Presents options for addressing needed work. 5. Gives his opinion as to the best course of action. Ta saki did not ever take any of these steps with me. I was there to have a very poor quality one size fits all partial denture replaced with a custom made partial with teeth shape and size correct for my face and mouth. High quality materials were to be used for strength and appearance. He responded to all my questions in the same way, "trust me, you'll love it." Lord help me, I found myself in a situation I never anticipated. Tasaki and the friend who sent me are deeply entwined. Holidays, family events, they even Vegas together. I could not get out without deeply offending a man I care about. It wasn't discussed until I mentioned to my friend that I wondered what Tasaki was going to do the following day when I had an appointment. My friend casually replied, "oh you are having an extraction." I asked how he would know that. "We had dinner and discussed the details of your care." Unbelievable. How dare he? I confronted Tasaki about this before my appointment. You see, it's illegal, unethical, and unprofessional to do what he did without written consent. We parted company that day, for good as far as I was concerned. And yes, my relationship with the friend who sent me, was strained as a result.
