I had wanted to bring back some gifts on my last trip to Hawaii, so I stopped inside this shop to see what they had. The guy behind the counter was SUPER friendly, and offered to help me find anything that I might be looking for. Despite being inside the hotel, the prices were actually pretty comparable to what was offered at the various ABC locations and other shops that litter the length of Kalakaua Ave around Waikiki beach. The have some small jewelry items, Hawaiian themed clothing, and various small gifts and travel accessories that one may have forgot to pack. I wound up picking out a set of silver earrings in the shape of a hibiscus with dangling sea turtles for the gf. The store accepts most major credit cards so cash is not a necessity. My review was pre-COVID 19 outbreak, so hopefully they are still surviving through this time.

This is one of my favorite places to just window shop. They have really fun, coastal and local vibe home decor and lifestyle finds. I've eaten at Kono's although I am not primarily a pork person so I would not personally go back here. Some places to visit would be the Aloha General Store where you'll find Island-inspired gifts, clothing, home décor, shave ice, and souvenirs. Aloha Vintage Vibes is where you will find vintage Hawaiian apparel, retro finds, and unique gifts. Northshore Boardriders Club is where I found a really cute bracelet here that allows you to track your own sea life! You'll also find surf apparel, boards, accessories, and local North Shore merchandise. Polynesian Treasures is neat. You get to browse through Hawaiian-made gifts, wood carvings, jewelry, and island crafts. I Am Paradise is a Pearl Shop. You will find Hawaiian pearl jewelry and handcrafted pieces. I have not yet entered this establishment yet. I think I'm intimidated by the possible price point of real Hawaiian pearls. Silver Moon Emporium is where you can shop for Women's fashion, accessories, and boutique clothing. I wish there were more plus size options. Tini Manini, I haven't been to this one yet but you'll be able to find Children's clothing, toys, and gifts here. Waimea Blue North Shore Art Gallery is where you can shop for original local artwork, photography, and prints. There are also several dining options which include: Banzai Sushi Bar, Cholo's Homestyle Mexican, Kono's, Maya's Tapas & Wine, IL Gelato Cafe (Love this place!), and The Fixx Haleiwa. I have yet to try them all but even more reason to come back to take a trip over to the North Shore.

Hungry...no problem, thirsty...got it here even some thing to cool you down after a long day at the beach North Shore Marketplace is filled with various shops to rest and shop for lots of selections for all your needs. Difficult to miss regardless as it's probably one of the larger shopping center area in Haleiwa but what makes it special honestly is there is a public restroom and is the place that I do find myself stopping by on the regular. Love that there's lots of free parking so that you're able to enjoy and browse at your leisure is always something that you don't need to worry about here which makes it a great place to do it all. I bought a cute Miffy plushy key chain that you can buy changeable clothes for it. The store has so many cute things besides Miffy items such as gifts for the tourist. It's a larger store than the Miffy store. I'm glad I came across it on the 1st floor. Too bad I couldn't get the kamaaina rate for the parking since it was after 8pm. If you are at the Royal Hawaiian Center, you can visit the Kira/Miffy store and Aloha Kira store if you are a Miffy fan!

I had a gift card to spend... haha! I went early - about 4:30pm - to meet up for dinner. Knowing that parking along the Ala Wai Canal is free, I circled around once and found a space! Yippee! I figured that I could walk leisurely to the beach and shop for fun. I never expected to find a great deal... Out of curiosity, I went into the large ABC Store on Kalakaua Avenue, directly across the street from the famous Waikiki Beach. The air conditioning was wonderful! The store was clean and organized! Browsing was very relaxing! In the past, I had found exclusive Hello Kitty merchandise at ABC Stores. This particular store actually was well stocked with Hawaiian Hello Kitty plushies, key rings, tote bags, post-it notes, etc. I was thrilled! Hello Kitty is cute by herself. She's even more special when she has a tan! I even saw My Melody (the Sanrio bunny) with a tan! Cool! I collected a few items and made my way to the cash register. I asked about the free gift with purchase that they used to have - they still had that promotion with a minimum purchase of $100. Also, Hello Kitty items are 30 percent off until the end of July 2020! Oh wow! The cashier kindly held my items on the side while I went to get more things... haha! Besides the usual convenience items such as cold beverages, sun screen, flip flops, and lip balm, ABC Stores carry a variety of practical souvenirs like t-shirts, towels, and caps. They have a shop at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. It's the Kahala Hotel, so it's going to be pricey. It was $38 for a small box. I believe I paid $26 a while back at the hotel. I'm not sure if they had an increase or it's just more at this location. They also sell teas, coffees and cookies here. They also have a collab with Hello Kitty. There were Hello Kitty plushes with the Kahala Hotel logo on it with their signature blue. They were adorable.

My friend kindly helped me place the order and gave them my info (shipping address and payment info). It took a little while but the manager Maria helped me stay on top of things in getting my order which came by FedEx. It was nicely packed in a FedEx box and packed very well. I read the box instructions very carefully in learning that the best way to store them would be to find a cool, dry place as I get to them. Most of the boxes were for gifting to friends but you know that I must indulge too. Surprisingly, this might me my favorite right now as it had that sweetness but the tang from the lilikoi (passion fruit) that made it a bit interesting. I still have a few other flavors that I bought and have yet to try since I can only afford (waistline) to eat so much at a time. Looking forward to hearing reactions from my friends who will try this and looking forward to trying other flavors. If you're in Waikiki, it's a good opportunity to get a taste of Kahala without having to go to their property.
