Although this location is walking distance, amd the first time we used it, we will spend our hard-earned $$$ at the University location instead. It is no accident there was NO LINE at dinner time on a Wednesday night, the community must already be aware the Gen whateverZ have absolutely no customer service or common sense when handling online ordering, preparation and presentation of orders. My 12 year old had online order number on her phone, two (2) standard boxes with two (2) 24 oz drinks, " to go." How do YOU think this order should be packaged? Well, I instructed my daughter to grab the order as I went to the lavatory and I would meet her at a nearby table. As I approached the counter, I saw her ask for a drink holder. And then I saw her attempt to stack the boxes atop the other!!! Wth???? Hold up, Baby Girl??!!! "XqquuuZzee mee?? Please may she have a bag???" My child says, " I got it!" " I'm sure you do. Wejust spent $30 here on 2 meals and you are here alone. The least they can do is offer you a drink carrier and food carrier!" The counter clerk gives me the bag, I say TY, pack it, and turn to leave. Another staff says something to that clerk, who then turns to me," what name is the order under?" I give them my name. And walk away. In most work situations, these are training issues, and I have great compassion for ignorance. However, upon observation the patron appeared to be struggling with gathering and collecting the order in their possession therefore the transaction has not been completed yet. Ala Moana mall, an easy bus ride or a leisurely walk. Mid connections for vacation trolleys and transportations. Mall would be a perfect 10 if they would restructure the parking lot. Ala Moana mall is open-air, tropical designed that merges modern architecture with koi ponds, and a window to the many high-end shops. 2 food courts, the one on the 2nd floor near Macy's seems slightly less crowded. I enjoyed the onsite live music, which highlights talented young performers. I recently caught "LoveJack", who played his cello. His booming, heartfelt music, vocals truly warmed the atmosphere. read more

Ala Moana Center: The world's largest open-air shopping center. There are more than 350 shops and restaurants to peruse, including multiple department stores, first-class boutiques, and over 160 dining options. Get your FitBit ready because you can get those steps in easily here. Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Celiné, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, ... And odd ones like The Dodgers Store and Target also exists in this same space. It's a hodge-podge of big brands and random businesses. You can spend hours here easily if you're one who likes to comb through the racks of every store you come across. Heck, you can get 350+ reviews from just being a patron to this mall alone. This shopping center has it all! There's plenty of food options, many different types of clothing stores, jewelry, activities, and more. What I love the most is how outdoors it is. Even though it is 3-4 stories, it still has trees, water features, grass, plants and more with no ceiling so that it's very organic and natural. There's plenty of free parking which is rare around here from what I can tell. Their bathrooms are scattered around. There are some homeless people who walk around asking for things. As Oahu's largest shopping mall, Ala Moana Center has always been a place to meet up with friends and family for decades. I actually stopped here that often, years ago, because it started getting a bit too "busy", especially with all the confusing store locations, accessing different split levels, parking areas, and just the overall "halfhazard" nature of the expansion. This all changed when my granddaughter started walking, because it's still a great place to let toddlers run around to explore, and of all the new dining spots to go to. They do have their ongoing issues with maintenance, especially the elevators, escalators, and the issue with water during rainy days like today. I don't remember a time when everything was working, and there wasn't at least one escalator or elevator out of service. Still, it's the place to go for locals and tourists. I love that they still have entertainment happening at Center Stage (even though it's facing the opposite direction from the original), and new generations can start building their own memories, although remembering where I parked is more difficult with all the new levels, lol. read more

Scenes include Hurley eating three pizzas, multiple close-ups of eyeballs, and Jin mistaking the cat cafe for the food court. We usually come here because there's a lot of stores we like to enjoy here such as: Dave & Busters, Uniqlo, Foodland, Cat Cafe MOFF, Yeti, etc. just to name a few. This problem with the homeless at the mall needs to be addressed immediately. They continue to hang out behind the mall by Nordstrom (Piikoi Street) and by Foodland. The mess they leave behind is an issue because the mall maintenance workers don't clean up after the homeless. The smell of urine in that is very bad. Mall security needs to patrol the area more and ask the homeless people to leave the premises. read more

This is one massive outdoor mall. Located at 1450 Ala Moana Blvd, you could literally get lost without even trying. The good news for the directionally challenged, like myself, is even if you're trying to find your way back to your starting point, you will likely stumble upon a shop that you weren't looking for but interests you enough to walk right in. They do have plenty of high end shops if that is your thing also. Food shops are strewn throughout the three floors. Being an outdoor mall of this size has its benefits but the one drawback is weather can put a damper on your shop till you drop outing. This is my favorite center to go to in Waikiki. the Foodland Farms is exceptional and the bext place to get your poke and all other snacks and meals before hitting the beach and streets of Waikiki. I have been here so many times over the years, it's finally time a drop some love for the Ala Moana Center. I always visit when here I'm in the Waikiki area, which is about a 10 minute drive to get here. This mall is massive and has pretty much all of the designer, high end shops and useful shops you may be looking for. You can get your steps in by just browsing from store to store and level to level. Like I said, this place is huge and you could spend most all day here, of course if you're a shopper like me. I like how it is outdoors but also has plenty of shaded areas. It can get hot here. Generally, the mall is well kept up and clean all around. This is a no brainer to recommend first if you're looking to do some shopping, all in one mall. read more

There are two food courts--one on the ground level and a smaller one near Macy's on the second level--both offering a fantastic array of options. On the ground floor, you can grab everything from fast food and pizza to Asian cuisine, smoothies, and even healthy alternatives. I love wandering around and sometimes even snag a sample from one of the food vendors! What really sets Ala Moana apart, though, is the experience. There are koi ponds, photo ops, and even an arcade area to keep you entertained. They host in-store demos, classes, and a variety of live performances on the center stage, which always adds an exciting vibe to the atmosphere. The mall is organized into three levels that cater to different tastes. For instance, I find the ground level perfect for souvenir shopping and enjoying the food court (plus there's a Foodlands right there for everyday needs). This outdoor shopping center has been a nostalgic place for me growing up because when my father was stationed here in Oahu - My mom would take me and my siblings here with riding The Bus and spend some time here. My mom at the time in the beginning of my dad being stationed here she was a SAHM for 4 kids. So she had plenty of time to take her kids around and sight see Hawaii. So riding the bus here we would take the bus and and sight see the mall and she introduced us to Panda Express at the food court at the time. So eating Panda Express was also nostalgic for me. Growing up this mall was a huge outdoor shopping center. Its a beautiful shopping center. It has many stores and food places and a huge food court. They also have a stage where hula dancers or polynesian dancers perform. This is located on the ground level. This is entertaining because it showcases polynesian and hawaiian culture well. Seating is limited here when dancers do perform. So come early to get good seating or you will end up standing watching performers perform. So back to the recent visit - This mall expanded and is BIGGER. They have more than 1 food court and added more stores and restaurants. They added residential condominiums above level and from what I was informed - These condos are about $2 million each unit I guess depending on what type of condo you have. Since its an outdoor shopping mall - Of course temps matter when you stroll. But this day the weather was not that bad - It was tolerable. The parking garage surrounding this mall is huge and spread out you can get easily lost - So just be mindful. Across the street is the Ala Moana park. This park is one of the good choices to watch Friday night Fireworks. A few homeless stay there at that park as well. This mall is pretty busy especially for tourists, You may notice they offer a good amount of Japanese stores in here - Hawaii has a lot of Japanese residents and also businesses that are owned by Japanese. The food court here carry a large variety of options. The prices can vary from being cheap to pricey - Remember you are in Hawaii. I have good fond memories with my mom taking us here buying us panda express and Ice cream cones. We didn't really shop much here. Her taking us here with The Bus gave me great appreciation of using public transportation and also being grateful that just a simple trip to a shopping mall can create fond memories as a child. read more

This mall is hella big. It has just about every store you need. There are also many, many restaurants in addition to their food court. Parking is free also. We always try to visit this mall at least once when we visit Oahu because there are always new restaurants here. Ala Moana Center is one of the largest malls around in North America, and it certainly stands up to that billing. It's located away from the Waikiki area, and will require driving or an uber to get to this location. It's a very large open air shopping mall, which you can't even see the end of the mall from one side to the other, so that just gives you an idea of how big this mall really is. It's large enough that the two different sides of this mall, each side is probably still larger than most malls you've been to. There's a variety of things here, from various food courts located within on both ends of this mall, to the wide variety of shopping options from clothing, to fun stuff, to random leisure spots around, it's got basically everything besides a beach that is. There are two floors, kind of, for this mall. Some areas of this mall have two floors of shopping, while the other parts are just the parking areas mostly, or smaller store fronts that are just on the outside with random shops here and there. The driving and parking here however is, chaotic, slow, and frustrating. For a shopping mall this large I feel one could have done a better job designing how the traffic flows here, but it is what it is. Parking here also is not easy during peak times, and you maybe circling around for awhile before you find a spot. But the open air shopping is really what makes this a fun shopping experience, especially since this place basically has everything you want from a mall, even an escape room! I would definitely pay a visit here, especially if you have no other particular plans, to come down to Ala Moana Center for some shopping, food, and fun. read more

Lots of shopping to have had and food to eat. Their food court is large but there's also a lot of food shops around the entire mall. Cute little open-ceiling mall in Ala Moana, conveniently splat right next to our hotel. My friend and I did struggle to get in, especially since the place is wrapped in a maze of parking lots and it's huge. Without a car, navigating your way inside as a tourist can be a bit of a hike. One star off for that. Definitely way more convenient if you're driving. Once inside, though, it's pretty impressive. You've got your luxury heavy-hitters like Tesla mixed in with regular mall staples. True to standard mall form, there's a food court -- but this one feels a little elevated (maybe that's just Hawaii flexing). We found some gems, like Musubi Cafe. I internally screamed when I saw the menu. Tons of seating and it wasn't too crowded either time we visited. Bonus: restrooms are tucked in the corner of the food court and easy to find. Outside the mall, though, things were a little sketchier. There were some individuals experiencing homelessness in the parking lot area. The air smelled kind of off in certain spots, and we had a couple unsettling encounters -- one man kept biking in circles nearby, and another older woman stood silently, visibly shaking. Nothing happened, but it definitely gave us pause and made the entrance feel less safe and welcoming. Also, one time I wandered down an elevator thinking it was the exit. Ended up in a series of ancient, dim hallways with exit signs pointing in different directions. The more I walked, the more hallways there were with no visible exit -- very much "turn around before this becomes a horror game" vibes. read more
