Our hotel was situated on Lewers Street and I greatly enjoyed being on such a bustling street with good eats, high-end shopping, and lots of art & culture. They even have a free art gallery, frequent pop-ups of booths that sells local goods, and other fun and free entertainment. What really stood out to me was how easy it is to just wander here. No strict plan needed. One minute you're browsing locally made jewelry or handcrafted souvenirs, and the next you're drawn in by live music drifting through the open-air walkways. It feels lively without being overwhelming, like the perfect balance of energy and ease that Waikiki does so well. It also has that effortless day-to-night transition. During the day, it's bright, breezy, and great for a casual stroll or a quick bite between beach time. We LOVE this stand and seller for his delicious banana breads! He has a nice variety of different choices and my favorite is the chocolate chip and the pineapple, but with our family of 5, we all have our favorites and those two are just mine lol. Each Monday we try to go to his stand (or I send a family member to grab some bread for the room). You can email him before hand to see if the type of bread you like will be available, but you can't go wrong with anything he makes. The prices are very reasonable. I wish he would sell butter lol we really love butter on top of his banana bread lol if he started selling whipped butter, it would just be the only way to make this stand even better. Highly recommend and can't wait to be back soon for more! His breads a staple in our hotel rooms when we're in Waikiki! read more

I absolutely love walking around Waikiki, and honestly, I don't think I spend enough time here. I really should. If you're coming to this area, just be prepared to walk. Parking can be tough, and Uber is usually the easiest way to get around if you're hopping between spots. I've parked at the Honolulu Zoo before and walked everywhere I wanted to go, which works... until I get a little lazy and tired . I do wish they offered some kind of bike, scooter, or cart experience to make getting around easier. Full transparency: this review is coming from someone who isn't super fit, so walking can be tiring but despite that, I absolutely love the experience here. The nightlife is so fun, the live music is always a vibe, and I love the bubbles floating around at night. I enjoy wandering into shops to window shop (and sometimes actually buy things), and yes, I still smile every time I see a bunch of ABC Stores lined up. I fell in love with them when I first moved here. I don't come around as often anymore since I live on the west side of the island, but whenever I'm in the area, I really enjoy it. If you are looking for the upscale vibe, you can check out this area. However, it is quite the tourist trap. Free parking is non-existent unless you are staying at one of the hotels around this place. There are several upscale restaurants that are located here, but you will still pay for the validated parking in additional to your food tab. I generally try to avoid this area as there isn't anything specific I need to patronize. However, it is a great place to people watch especially at night with tons of tourists coming to the plaza from all over the world. I am certainly biased because they have renovated this space to be much more upscale and modern. Perhaps that is not the vibe I remember Hawaii to be nor what I am looking for during my beach vacation. Things are expensive here especially for a family of 4. It is not situated right on the beach unless you go further into the hotels that are located right on the water. As for the service at these businesses, I never got the feel that anyone was all that happy we were patronizing their place. Not exactly the Aloha-feeling you should expect. Probably because you would be hard-pressed to find any true locals here. If you are impressed with lots of high-end brands and stores, this would be a fun place to visit. Eimeo is this amazing Tahitian boutique along the beachwalk. They feature beautiful fabrics and special design from Tahiti. They are have pop ups with incredible hand made Native Hawaiian Designers like Brooke Holt of 21 degrees north - who was weaving traditional lauhala the day I visited the store. The vibrancy is real here... Anyone who'd lived and work in the area knows it's the place to avoid sadly and I have worked here for over 10+ years decades ago and it's nothing like this thankfully. The building that I worked in nostalgically still stands to this day and certainly a few others as well but the new addition along with Waikiki Beach Walk makes it a great place to gather. Parking is always a challenge in Waikiki and here with Yelp check in you get 3 hours for FREE! Drive up to the Embassy Suites Waikiki valet and let them know you're parking using that option and be ready to show them the check in start and with $20 purchase at any of the tenants, just be sure to get your receipt as we do tend to decline the need of this that is something you must show to get your free parking. I'm really disappointed that the valet person that I had didn't honor the yelp check in saying she didn't know anything about it and that it didn't count at night. The place is hopping and lots of vendors around which is really cool! I like having a good amount of places to eat and ice cream spots and nalu. Great shopping area near the Sheraton Resort. Lot of the same shops that are all along Kalakaua, but some unique and stand outs like Soha Living. It's a gorgeous home decor store based on the Hawaii lifestyle. Colors of sand, sea and sky decorate most every item in the store from pillows, totes, serving ware, candles and ceramics. Everything is styled beautifully and it's worth going to the Beach Walk just for this store! The Hard Rick Cafe is always popular. Not my thing as I prefer local over chains, but if you like their food, you will find them here. Tommy Bahamas, Billabong, Mahina, several restaurants, beach shops, Hawaiian attire, ABC store. Fun atmosphere! Finding parking at Waikiki Beach Walk is terrible and the influx of tourists visiting Hawaii is just wow! The Great State of Hawaii has reopened! ... but wait! not without their ever-changing Hawaii travel restrictions and concerns surrounding COVID-19. Anyway, our arrival time in Honolulu was too early to check-in our hotel but we were able to park at their garage that charged per hour or, since it was our place of lodging, per day. The Beach Walk has plenty of shops, dining options and walking distance to the beach. It was convenient to walk outside of our hotel and be right there in the heart of it. It is an open-air promenade that is the hub of nightlife, live music, dining and... shopping! Yes, there is an ABC Store and you can even purchase your meal here if you're on a budget. LoL! The evening was really buzzing with people (actually, in the daytime too). Lights and tiki torches lined the one-way strip on Lewers Street. Check for special parking offers and promotions. Yelp has a check-in promo for a 3-hour free valet parking with purchase of $20 (or more) at the Waikiki Beach Walk stores and restaurants. I think it depends on the type of vacation and beach you like. If you like the convenience of a tourist "trap" this is a good spot with tons of restaurants and stores. They have shows at night... not sure the schedule but it seems like every other night since I've been here this week. There's places to rent various beach equipment and a strip of resorts. There's a police station and lots of coffee shops. It's busy and lots of traffic especially on weekends. There's also a lot of homelessness... you'll find homeless sleeping during the night and early morning. They're there throughout the day. It's also a little loud throughout the night if you have a room at one of the hotels here. The beach also have rock walls (water breaks?) that are great for small children so they don't get swept away. read more

I heard from several people before our trip that told us they really hated Oahu. After a full week on the North Shore I really didn't get it. After arriving in Waikiki I completely understood. I wasn't prepared for the amount of homeless and massive tourist crowds all along the walk. The sunset views are beautiful. Watching the sunset is definitely a must do here. The Beach Walk is an outdoor mall with a nice green space and some free activities during the week. There are hula performances and lessons, and a Wednesday evening local art fair/food stall line up that is nice. There is garage parking - probably small and crowded, but I walked over from my hotel and can't really say. It's a nice enough area, but very crowded and commercial. read more

This consists of lots of restaurants and shop's. I feel there is something for everyone, as they have every brand name stores here all the way to little booths selling costume jewelry to real gold. We did see a lot of people begging for change and trying to sell weed that looks like dirt mixed with real weeds. ( the ones found in your back yard)Lol. You can take pictures with live animals right there on the sidewalk. You have your options when it comes to food. Multiple bars, souviner shopping or sunset views. We had fun walking this daily, very safe, pretty clean, and good vibes all things that I like. Would recommend this, but Oahu has much more to offer on the island, go see it. read more

I worked at Planet Hollywood for three years, about 20 years ago, when they first opened. Needless to say that I'm very familiar with Beachwalk and the surrounding areas. The area has gone through major changes, especially Lewers and Beachwalk. It looks nothing like it did back in the day. Even the hotels are different. Now, it's restaurants galore on both streets. Since this is the page for Beachwalk, I'll list some of the businesses on that street. Beachwalk is a one way street. You turn right coming off of Kalakaua. Right when you make that turn, there's Hard Rock Cafe, Tommy Bahamas, and Bills. Go a little further down, there's a lot for food trucks and Henry's Place. Henry's Place is a little convenience store that's known for their homemade ice cream. Across the street from Tommy Bahama's is Bank of Hawaii and a 7-11. Go a little past that is Arancino on Beachwalk. Then, you come upon Embassy Suites. If you check into this page, you get a free three hour valet parking at the hotel. Just don't forget to tip the valet workers. read more

Waikiki Beach Walk is Lewers Street "reborn" into a city block of shopping, dining, luxury and family-oriented hotels and entertainment. The "Beach Walk" runs down Lewers Street and is bordered by Kalakaua Avenue, Kalia and Saratoga Roads. On Lewers Street, there is both a single-story and two-story shopping mall that features surf, beach wear or resort wear boutiques, art galleries, jewelry shops, and restaurants. If you're looking to stay in Waikiki, The Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Embassy Suites Hotel, Outrigger Reef Hotel and Trump International Hotel & Tower and Ohana Islander Hotel are conveniently located along the Waikiki Beach Walk. During the evenings, the shopping mall sponsors local entertainment by local and Japanese hula halaus, singers and dancers. There is limited street parking available but Yelp offers a 3-hour parking deal at the Wyndham. An alternative to parking is at the Fort DeRussy lot at the corner of Kalia and Saratoga Road. But, you'll need your CAC (Common Access Card) to get Military Discount or parking validation from the Hale Koa Military Hotel that is located about a block down Kalia Road near the Hilton Hawaiian Resort. If you're looking for a place to dine...casual to semi-elegant, Waikiki Beach Walk has it! One of our favorite Italian restaurants, Taormina, is located on Lewers Street across from the Waikiki Beach Walk. Lewers Street offers a variety of dining options such as Yardhouse (brew pub), Ruth's Chris, Giovanni Pastrami (sports bar/deli), Roy's Waikik and Cheeseburger in Paradise, to name a few. Located on the southwest side of Lewers Street is Waikiki Beach Walk. The shopping center consists of two levels. People are able to shop at any of the stores or even dine at the restaurants. During the early evening hours there will be live entertainment and hula performances for tourists as well as locals to enjoy. Occasionally there may be some fresh fruit stands as well...previously I seen some pineapples and mangoes. My most recent visit to Waikiki Beach Walk was on a Sunday afternoon with the Aries twins. We browsed around Lik Waikiki - Peter Lik Fine Art Gallery. We wanted to go to Yard House for happy hour but found out that's only for the weekdays. There will be future visits to Waikiki Beach Walk...hopefully then I would get a chance to dine at the Yard House, browse around some of the other shops, and if I needed a pit stop then I'll visit the restroom facility on the second level. 118/200 read more

While waiting for our table at Yardhouse, we explored the stores and restaurants that this newly renovated area has to offer. RETAIL: As you might have guessed, most stores cater to tourists and have tourist-priced items as well. The stores range from your mandatory ABC store, to stores selling Hawaii souvenirs or goods made in Hawaii, to 2 art galleries. In any case, exploring these selection of stores kept us occupied to say the least while waiting. RESTAURANTS: This is probably the main lure or attraction for locals and tourists alike. Restaurants in this complex include Roy's Waikiki, Yardhouse restaurant and brewery, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Getting a whiff of the food from Ruth's Chris was almost enough to make me cancel our table at Yardhouse and ask the host at Ruth's Chris how long the wait was. Bottom Line: Tourist stores. Tourist prices. Restaurants worth visiting. read more
