    Frybread Taco whole order
    Frances L.

I love frybread and we look forward to the powwow in Portland every year, but like everything in 2020 it was canceled So we sought out a replacement. They did not disappoint, it was amazing crisp and crunchy on the outside soft and warm on the inside. Will stop every time we pass through the area now.

We have been driving by the "Kalama Fry Bread" sign for the past 5 yrs when we drive on route 26 from California to Hood River we have always wanted to stop but never had the chance. Our timing was finally right this time and we got to stop, and man do we regret not stopping before!!! Ordered: Fry bread with butter (cinnamon, jam, sugar etc available) Indian Taco - Fry bread topped with bean, meat, jalapeno, tomato , sourcream Crispy outside, light and fluffy on the inside.... and oh so delish! This place is now a "must stop" along our route now.

Better than a fairground elephant ear! Pockets of airy crispiness without being greasy, light chewy fluffiness throughout. I love that they put in the effort with the road signs, that I'm supporting this hardworking family in seriously hot weather, and that it tastes good doing it. Will stop again and again. Their toppings aren't fancy, but did you really need it to be? So satisfyingly delicious.

Had to also try and get some jerkey!!

For real we were told about this place. It being Sunday we decided to go enjoy nature bringing us out this way. We both ordered the taco burger and it was loaded with everything! 2 fry breads with it! The burger was cooked on BBQ fresh to order the smell and everything was amazing! The workers were nice and welcoming they have a place outside in shade on hot day to eat and enjoy the nature even more! This place is a place to stop you could say a secret place in Warm Springs

Indian fry bread along route 26 - homemade and authentic!

Delicious and yes! Roadside treats at their finest. The women working were friendly and pleasant and have a nice little set up to stop and have a snack or some lunch. The fry bread OMG delicious!

    YUM :)

Great Indian tacos and nice people! We stopped here on our road trip and shared some tasty frybread, Yum! Gotta return next time we're in the area!

We were on our way to Bend, but had to make a quick detour in Warm Springs when we saw the sign for Kalama's Indian Fry Bread. We thoroughly enjoyed the piping hot fry bread, which we had with honey (butter, jam or chili are other options). Hadn't had fry bread since visiting Arizona around 10 years ago, so it was quite a treat!

Hands down, BEST fry bread and Indian Tacos on the reservation - and in Oregon for that matter.

We ended up at La Posada Mexican Grill in Madras, Oregon... and this is one of those spots that doesn't try to impress you from the outside... but the food absolutely does. I ordered a carne asada taco and their three crispy bean tacos that they're known for. The carne asada had that real flavor to it, not over-seasoned... just simple and done right and the tortillas... perfect. And those crispy bean tacos... I get why they're known for them. Crispy, flavorful, and just the right ratio of filling to topping. And the salsa bar... this is where you can tell if a place is serious. While it looks simple in the photo, it honestly deserves a review all on its own. Multiple salsas, all different, all fresh... pickled carrots (one of my favorites), and of course, radishes. But the kicker... what really put it over the top for me and sold me on coming back someday were the roasted chiles and grilled onions on the side. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how good this place really is. And I'll say this, because it proves itself over and over again... do not judge a Mexican restaurant by the outside of the building. Ever. Some of the best food you'll find is in the most unassuming places... and this is definitely one of them. So authentic.

The young lady that greeted us had the personality of day old bread, kind of stale. There was a table of 4 and a table of 8. Two being kid's, and now us. 2. I thought this will not take long, boy was I mistaken. The table if 4 where just finishing up. And the table of 8. I thought we're finishing because the kids were still eating. Nope, they were bringing 1 plate at a time, for other 6. They forgot 1 of the 6, the person said don't worry about it. They just wanted to get out of there. A lady with purple hair, I assume she owned the nasty place half heartily made up excuses. Now are turn, took forever to take our order. We order - 1 breakfast sandwich, asked what type of bread, requested sourdough. Ham steak, eggs over medium, hash browns and sourdough bread. Order of Indian fried bread. What came 30 minutes later - Breakfast sandwich with rye bread that sat at the pass for 10 minutes, it was nasty. Ham luke warm, eggs over hard, microwave hash browns and sourdough bread, not toast. No butter, no jam. And least but not least, NO INDIAN FRIED BREAD. The you lady who sat us, also served us. Never came back to refuel our water cups Never checked on how the foods was. When she finally came, I told about both breads. She had a look of bewilderment. I said don't worry, no we are sorry no anything. Now last but not least- I used the restroom as my wife did. SAYING NASTY IS BE NICE!!!! THE WHOLE PLACE IS DIRTY. I COULD NOT GET OUT OF THERE FAST ENOUGH. When I go that way again. I'm going to speed up as I pass there. I stress, do not, I mean do not stop there! They need to be inspected by the county.

I wanted CARNITA TACOS, you know corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. I saw an option for crispy corn tortillas, and so I asked if they were just corn tortillas fried in a little oil. He had no clue. He asked the cook in the back (also white with long a hair and no hair net/hair tie at all). I told the teller I specifically did not want hard shell tacos. So once the teller came back he said "yeah not hard shells, they're made in house".. So 10 minutes later they came out with three hard shell tacos with only (pre shredded) cheese and lettuce on them. I don't think it ever occurred to the cook that using spices on the meat would make the food taste good. I also don't think it ever occurred to the cook that he should taste his food. They brought out the saddest portion of beans and rice that didn't have even a grain of salt added to them. The beans were cold and mushy with absolutely no spice. The salsa did no favor either, it was thick tomato water at best. HORRIBLE. Horrible. horrible. I could not eat more than a few bites before I was actually repulsed. When I told the teller I didn't really get what I wanted he actually acted annoyed, and said "it was a miscommunication". He was probably so high he couldn't even register I specifically asked to not be served hard shell premade tortilla shells! Then as I sat waiting to leave I saw the "cook" prepping lettuce by peeling off rotting leaves, and wiping his hands all over his pants before chopping the lettuce. Then started eating right over the counter he was prepping the lettuce on. He did not wipe the counter and continued with prep work. I came here on Saturday - 1/17/26 at 2:00pm
