Came in mid-October and the only vendor here was the New Public Cafe, which was excellent. Hope to return when there are more options! Great location!

Had a great trip to Sisters and had a fantastic lunch. I ate at the Sliders and my husband ate at the Tuscan Chuck Wagon. Sliders has fantastic food and yummy fried pickles. Chuck wagon had amazing shrimp flat bread tacos.

Mediocre Mac and cheese, tacos, Thai, beer from a fridge. Nice shady area to eat in, though. No idea why this gets 5 stars.

The seating is great, and staff are really friendly, but what stands out is the authentic Nepalese cuisine. I'd recommend: Kids chicken fried rice, paired with the chicken chilli- neither of these are spicy and have a great deal of flavor / it's a fusion of Indian and Chinese food. The Himalayan drunken noodles - this is an Indo-Chinese take on pad-see-ew - there are very subtle hints of Indian curry flavor in them The pork and chicken momos - these are like dumplings, and come with a nice tomato/garlic dipping sauce If you choose to dine in, there are plenty of tables in a spacious room and also outdoor seating. If you're the adventurous type of eater, give this a try / you won't be disappointed!

It was cutely decorated with Nepal art and plenty of tables inside along with bar seating and a very cute outdoorseating area. We tried a berry cider, and my husband ordered the Himalayan hamburger. The hamburger had a meatloaf quality to it with a heavy onion flavor. I had a bite and I liked the flavor, and the fries were good with just a hint of spice. I ordered the chicken curry, and it was ok. I actually like a lot of spice, but this was just a basic curry. I might have been better off ordering the momo platter or interesting sounding onion rings called yeti strings. Service was excellent. I believe the owner talked to us after we seated ourselves and was very pleasant. We ordered at the counter at the bar for drinks and food, and the waitress brought everything and made sure to check on us to make sure everything tasted OK. I wouldn't order the curry again, but I would definitely be interested in ordering the momos or an ap and a drink if in the area again!

We arrived a little after noon when the pub opened on a Sunday. Our server Austin was friendly and helped my wife out with some menu questions. A Brown Porter that features 2 pounds per barrel of the finest Belgian dark chocolate, creating a slightly roasty brew with chocolaty satin finish. The beer was fine . My burger was over cooked for me. I wasn't given the option of how I wanted it cooked. I should have mentioned that when ordering . Most restaurant servers would ask you that question when ordering a burger. I would try something different if and when we make another appearance.

Tender, not gamey, cooked for 5 plus hours until so beautifully rendered I would swear they coaxed fat out of it that doesn't exist. Sauces were delicious, especially the horseradish. The staff was friendly and personable, and the menu looked promising. We ordered the steamed mussels, beet salad, McArthur burger, and wild mushrooms. The burger was probably the highlight of the meal. Mine was a little more done than I prefer, but it was still very good. The beet salad was enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. The mussels were okay, but several were chewier than I'd expect. The biggest disappointment was the wild mushrooms. I was expecting something that would showcase the variety and flavor of wild mushrooms. Instead, the texture and taste reminded me of the canned mushrooms I grew up eating as a kid. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. We passed on dessert and left feeling a little underwhelmed given the prices and the setting. Would we come back? Probably not. In fact, when we were deciding where to eat the following night with friends, we suggested Three Creeks Brewing instead. If you found this review helpful, give it a like so it can help others too.

Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.
