Walked in on a Sunday morning and ran into the in-laws on accident and they were sitting out on the patio with two of their good friends. We walked inside and saw there was a line of 2-3 people ahead of us. We saw a man to the side who injected himself since he was waiting on a drink and we saw that he was forgotten and no one had made his drink. He was nice about it but I could tell he was upset. There were two cashiers and when it was finally our turn based off our receipt Kenzie D took our order. We ordered peanut butter smoothie, an americano, a cinnamon scone and pumpkin bread. Any sort of customer service went out the window. There was no greeting, no eye contact, no acknowledgment of him finishing inputting an item down to get the next one. I say this because I asked for pumpkin bread and it was forgotten. I didn't even want it after seeing how long it took others to get their order. You would think that you would get your order right after the person in front of you orders but no, two people from groups that ordered after us received their order and we were left there standing waiting for 10-15 minutes. We thought that was the worst of it... We went outside to sit with the in-laws and friends and they were like "that took awhile..." and I told them there was only 3 people ahead of us and that's when they told us what happened to them. My mother in law ordered a drink and so did my father in law. My father in law received his drink and was waiting for a really long time for my mother in laws. So long that he spoke to one of the women passing out orders to check to see if it was done yet. She told him he would need to get in line and order it since they didn't receive it. There was a line and he already waited and didn't want to get back in line so he spoke to the manager and the manager said he heard the exchange and didn't say anything to make it right. So my father in law was like forget it and it just went outside to sit with the rest of the group. The manager came out and gave a disgusted look and gave my mother in law a drink. Then friends also confirmed that he was not nice at all when he came out and probably did it out of spite. I saw she had finished it and gasped because knowing the food industry he probably spit in that drink. Needless to say none of us will be going back to this place. There is no such thing as hospitality here or making things right. And I found out that the cashier that rang us out was the manager? Smh... As much as food or drinks can taste good, not having taste in your service can affect the experience so much so it can't rectify what's been done. Couldn't eat the scone after two bites and the peanut butter smoothie was melty with chunks of banana. I'll stick to supporting pj's and smoothie king. read more

Ordered the vanilla latte since it's homemade syrup, iced cold brew for hubs, a few scone bites, yums, bagel for the road and slice of gooey butter cake for the end of a kind day of driving, cause when in Rome/Missouri! Two gals were taking orders at the counter and both were friendly and polite. I ordered a latte and a scone. Both were served in/on nice, heavy dishes. We found a spot to sit and chat. There were constantly people coming and going. Staff members were walking around fairly often picking up dirty dishes and trash, wiping down tables, and emptying the trash. The menu is fairly large. They have breakfast and lunch food there. With all the activity, it wasn't loud or annoying. It was a nice place to spend some time. I'd definitely go back! read more

My husband and I came to this location for the first time when we visited St. Louis, and I loved the way my drink tasted. I ordered an iced caramel latte, and the drink was creamy, smooth, and delicious. I had to force myself to sip it because it was so good and I didn't want to drink it all in one gulp. Being from Chicago, I need a Kaldi location near me. Although Kaldi is a chain, they have delicious espresso that tastes much better than chains like Starbucks. Our service and the atmosphere were great here, as well. The barista was friendly and personable, and I thought even more highly of her when she complimented my tattoo. The dining room was full, so I knew that this must be a popular place to go amongst locals. The decor is cute and comfortable, as the inside seating area includes a fireplace and a modern vibe. Tables and racks of merch lined the side of the queue, too. This location also has a large outdoor seating area with many garden tables and chairs. Although we had many pros to our experience, it did take a pretty long time for me to receive my drink. Admittedly, it was crowded when we came, but it took almost 10 minutes. Overall, this place is great and I hope to visit St. Louis to have it again! OR they can open up a location in the suburbs of Chicago ;) I also appreciate their sustainability mission and commitment. I popped in here to grab coffee after a meeting and it was truly pleasant. I love Kaldis and visit multiple locations regularly since they're so conveniently located around stl. Very chill environment and the staff was very nice, especially since they were closing when I was pulling up. I will definitely come back just to work there because the space seems very conducive to a nice break away from your normal work environment. The ambiance is very nice and cozy with a lovely fireplace. The coffee- rosemary vanilla latte was like warm and bitter. My sandwich- was cold and hard... it was supposed to a hot sandwich. The flavors were good though. I was a bit confused because the bread was sliced, but they served it with the egg on top of the two slices, not in between. The sandwich was so delicious, all the flavors from the chicken, bacon and aioli seem to go together into a delicious heavenly mouthful. I really love Khaldi's and have spent so much time at this location and now the one in Clayton closer to where I live. I think this time might have been a fluke, but I was sorely disappointed with the meal. I got a breakfast sandwich with egg and sausage on a brioche bun. The eggs were over cooked and looked burnt and the sausage was definitely burnt. I also, wasn't a big fan of the Brioche bun. The thing is, is that it was popping during the time I went, but no one really in line ordering food, so I don't think it was a matter of being rushed. I just feel it's not worth paying 10$ for a mediocre breakfast sandwich that's burnt. I will however say that I am never disappointed with the pastries. I got a scone and it was delicious. I have always loved Kaldi's - especially for their house made vanilla lattes and protein bites. I don't get coffee on my way to work a ton & normally make it at home, but today i stopped by, got my latte, and noticed the way they suggest tips there. Now, I am all about tipping 20% on everything, even drive through coffee, as these are people's jobs and they honestly make my day when I do get coffee in the morning. However, I noticed their machines are not percentage based and instead are dollar amount based with the first suggested option being $2.00, $3.00, and then $4.00. Personally, I find it hard to justify a $4.00 tip on an already $5.00 coffee so my suggestion would be to switch it to percentages. I think a lot of people feel comfortable tipping 15%-20%-25% than the set amounts or at least make the lowest option $1.00. I think this will help the workers get more tips for all that they do! I still love my latte & will always tip & keep coming back as it's my favorite local coffee place, but I just wanted to share my suggestion! read more

I've been here many times over the years it has always been a reliably good coffee spot. They are a very warm cozy and inviting locally owned coffee shop. Service is always friendly but not always fast but that's okay bc I don't come here to be in a rush. I was just in the other day and ordered my favorite breakfast which I had been craving. They have revamped their menu and I am not happy. My go to breakfast here was the crustless quiche with sweet potatoes and greens and it is no longer available and has been removed. I proceeded to order one of their new breakfast sandwiches and egg and cheddar on an English muffin and it was terrible. The cheese was not good quality and the English muffin was so thick and bready. Overall I was very disappointed and hope that management listens and decides to bring back the quiche. On another side note I really enjoy an iced matcha. I have been trying to cut down on my sugar so I have started ordering the unsweetened version with oat milk however there are always clumps of matcha powder in my drink like it hasn't been fully dissolved. I brought it up once to one of the locations and I even asked what was the difference in the process and the powder bc when I order it sweetened this doesn't ever happen. I make my own iced matcha at home and buy ceremonial grade matcha which is unsweetened but there is a specific way to blend the powder so it doesn't get clumpy. You use about a quarter of a cup of hot water put in the matcha powder and use the frother to completely dissolve and froth the powder then you proceed to add the cold milk and the ice. I explained to is to the clerk at the store and he said that this is exactly what they do but for some reason the unsweetened matcha does not dissolve. I was not convinced. Today I went in to my local Kaldi's (different from the before mentioned one) and I actually watched how they made my iced matcha and I saw that the barista place the powder along with the cold milk and then used the frother (to be fair I have started just ordering the sweetened version so I don't have the clumping issue so this didn't happen with my beverage today) but it that is the method they use then of course it explains why when they use the unsweetened powder with the cold milk filled to the top and then proceed to froth for (a very brief moment I might add) the powder does not dissolve and just forms clumps. PLEASE MANAGEMENT do something about this process which is so easy to fix. Also please reconsider adding the quiche back to the menu along with the sweet potatoes which are yummy. read more

Thanks to Yelp reviews, I found Kadi coffee shop. I love it here! Kadi has quite a lot of comfy seating spaces, deliciously made coffee and pastries. Kadi is a great spot for conversations, working with laptops or studies. Kadi is located close to the shopping area (with walmart, Sam's, etc) at the Chesterfield valley. Plenty of parking is available. At my visit, I ordered a small latte. It is about $3, relatively inexpensive for a good coffee. As far as pastries, their rhubarb muffins are fabulous! Four stars because their coffee is delicious and the ambiance is always pleasant and welcoming. However , if eating food only I would give it a two or lower. Kaldi's used to have delicious breakfast sandwiches . Whoever is currently in the kitchen seems to be unaware of the function of toasters and greatly favors the microwave. As another reviewer noted, the English muffin breakfast sandwich is nothing more than a microwaved, untoasted, super doughy and thick English muffin with microwave-melted cheese and a quick fried egg. While these are the essentials , yes, for such a sandwich -one toasts the bread first and doesn't put the entire thing in the microwave to produce oily cheese and gummy warm dough. Perhaps they've hired kitchen workers who are unfamiliar with these things. Further bolstering that theory, I've also recently ordered the warm quinoa bowl with chicken , greens, cranberries and a few other toppings. This used to be a decent bowl. My last order included 4 small leaves of lettuce (more of a garnish), a pile of microwaved chicken and quinoa that looked like something I wouldn't feed to my dog. The chicken was diced in little pieces and tasted oddly seasoned -like kielbasa . It was microwaved to within an inch of its life and was one of the worst things I've ever eaten. I second another's comments -please bring back the crustless quiche -it was delicious! And please please fire your kitchen staff or train them properly -I don't know from where they came but they are wholly unfamiliar with food preparation and presentation. I came in here to try a local coffee place and see if it was better than the usual Starbucks and Peets chains that I was used to. I decided to get the black bean burrito and a 16oz vanilla latte. The cashier was very friendly and even joked with me when I said I wanted a black bean burger on accident....obviously, I was tired and had not had my coffee yet! LOL! As I waited patiently with my number "41" in my hand I realized there were a lot of places to sit but it was packed full of people. After I grabbed my latte and the cool design that was done in the foam, I went to the bar seats next to the window. About five minutes later my food was ready. I was not sure if I would like the burrito or not but after one bite I realized how flavorful it was. But how? It looked like cheese, sweet potatoes, and black beans. Well, I didn't care because I ate the whole thing in what seemed like minutes. The latte was sooooooo smooth and was not overpowered by the milk or vanilla syrup. I could still taste their unique espresso and it was very good! Not too bitter and definitely did not have a burned espresso smell. I'm staying at a nearby hotel, and (given COVID) coffee opportunities there were limited. I searched, and found a Starbucks and this little place I'd never heard of, Kaldi's Coffeehouse, in the same strip mall. So... let's give Kaldi's a try. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Great atmosphere, friendly people, and huge to me that I could sit inside and work and coffee and breakfast! I ordered their new 2021 Jubilant blend and a breakfast burrito. It was a bit pricy for fair trade coffee and real ingredients, but no more than it would have been at Starbucks. And both were INCREDIBLE. I will now be looking for this place in my travels.
