Not good might be an understatement. Never answers the phone, email is a gmail account (red flag), and the property that I was interested in has been posted for over a month. They use Rently to schedule appointments, which is fine, but they rely on it to cancel and reschedule them too. No personal call to say the agent can't make it. I've worked with Kamehameha Realty for over 10 years, as they managed two of my rental properties on Oahu. Spencer and his team have always been responsive to me, and were open with feedback and suggestions in terms of potential improvements and how to better my units and raise rents accordingly. Besides property management, with their help, I was also able to renovate one of the condos as they assisted me with coordinating the vendors and negotiating pricing, so I was able to get everything done timely and within my limited budget, while remaining hands off - really just having to give my feedback and approve options and colors. Once renovated, I had Spencer list the condo for sale, and it was in escrow within a week with strong offers. This company is only out to take yiur application fee and leave you alone. I applied for a property in dayton, oh. I spoke to the property owner to confirm they took section 8. Jorge said yes and I applied for the apartment. I was approved and spoke to Jose in the office. I asked about the section 8 inspection and said Jorge will have to talk to section 8. I gave him my housing counselor number along with inspections. I kept asking how much I can pay to hold the apartment and no response. I then said if it was going to be a problem I would just rent it without section 8. After 4 days now of calling and texting with no response and now they have taken the ads. I almost don't want to write this review cause' i don't want Kamehameha Realty to get too popular, but Spencer is hands down THE BEST broker in the entire state of Hawaii. I have known him since 2013 and he has helped my parents found a very reliable renter and have been managing their condo ever since. (Although my mom decided to switch to a different realtor for a bit but in the end we went back to Spencer cuz he is just THAT good) He also helped me sold my other condo last month. I have already moved to the mainland at the time but his communication is so on point, it was a seamless and stress-free process. He is the ultimate one-stop shop; You need a plumber, he's got a guy, you need an electrician, he's got a guy, you need a cleaner, painter, attorney, he will get you a name! What impressed me the most was that he virtually augmented my vacant condo by adding furnitures and decor with a software, and the pictures on the listing looked insanely beautiful, it made me want to move back lol Fast forward, my condo was sold in less than 2 months after we left and we cannot be happier! Sure, the properties look nice, and so do the prices. But Stanley is a spineless, weak, useless excuse for a landlord. He is unhelpful, cowardly, and -can I say butthole on yelp? The online payment portal works-sometimes. And the office hours suck and there's no drop box. So paying your rent is always an adventure. He'll lie to you, make excuses, not answer his phone, but he's all kinds of ready to send your ass to court. Your lease is supposed to be between kamehameha realty and you. But he always deflects saying "oooh, I don't know, let me ask the owner"- which he never does. Your own this company, dude. Grow a pair. Nine time out if ten, I don't care what the answer is-just that you have one. "I don't know"- then not finding out, or letting me know that you can't figure it out-and instead string me along like a bad prom date? No thanks. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I had the worst experience ever dealing with them as my property manager of my last apartment. Phone calls and emails went DAYS without a response. Excuses were constant. I was without a washer for WEEKS. They claimed that they were waiting on a part to come. When the repair guy came, he advised that he was called a few days prior and had the part for weeks. I was constantly given the run around when dealing with other conflicts. Stanley was unaware of many things and I had to constantly tell the same story. To which he'd reply "I'll look into it" a week later, nothing. Very similar experience as the other people. Property was in very poor condition with mold growing on the ceiling and in the carpet. They looked like they tried to cover up. The wall was wet with a leak. Very dangerous for anyone to move in. This is the property at Turtle Bay. Awful would agree spineless, he told us to submit and offer. We spent time putting it together and assessing the damages. I am a contractor and know what needed to be repaired. Be aware that unit is not fit to live in. If you suffer from allergies you could be at a high risk of getting sick from the black mold that has been covered up. read more

Do not go through this company, it's a waste of time. Recently applied and thought everything was going smoothly with the rental I wanted. Gave them a move in date and we were preparing to live there, only to find out something different happened. My friend went to their office after weeks of not hearing from them to find out what was happening with the rental agreement and to find out when we have to pay our deposit. However, he instead found that someone else had made a better offer to them. They gave us no prior notice or intention what they were doing and left us believing that we had the place. Do not trust them for anything, I feel like everything is false advertisement from this company. I don't know what kind of offer was made, but I only assume that deal was higher than the proposed advertised rental agreement. I wish I could afford attorney and court fees to sue them for false advertisement and leading us on. I felt completely lied to and wasted my time with this company. I will never go back to get a rental from them again. Those that get good service or a rental from them probably gave more money that the other tenants could not afford. Again DO NOT RECOMMEND OR TRUST THIS COMPANY when finding a place. Wish there was a zero for stars also. read more

Think twice before renting from these people. The realtor Stanley is extremely unprofessional, unreliable and useless. I rented a place from them while I was deciding on whether or not I should by a home here and it was by far the worst mistake! When I initially went to look at the property I was interested in renting (trust me, it wasn't even that great but served its purpose for the meantime), the house was dirty, and several things in the house needed to be redone and refurbished. I was told that the things I pointed out would be replaced and fixed and that was a total lie. When I finally moved into the place, it looked like they took a can of spray paint to repaint some areas and the house was filthy. I had to hire people and spend two days cleaning the house before I could move in (which should've been my clue to not rent), but I did anyway. Throughout the course of my lease, things broke (because appliances were old and the house needed improvements) and I needed things fixed in a timely manner; however, it took Stanley and his team forever to get the appropriate team of people to make the repairs. Moreover, they used the cheapest people they could find to make the repairs, which was evidenced by the same things breaking multiple times before they would buy anything new. Then when I moved out and decided to back to the mainland 4 months ago, I moved all my belongings and had the house professionally cleaned. I was told that I would receive a refund of my deposit along with the additional month that I had paid for the next month. However, when I received my check, I was charged for items that were already broken, damaged and in poor shape from when I moved in. I fought to get my money back but Stanley and his team insisted that the deductions were legitimate. I've always owned upscale homes and take care of everything I own and rent, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. If you're thinking of renting, go look at an apartment or condo and stay clear from this place. Once you see their nasty office space, and see how they treat their tenants, you'll see what I mean. Be weary of the good reviews on here, as their aren't any and the properties aren't the best. Be very cautious. read more

So during the time we rented with Kamehameha Realty our property manager changed. The guy who did our first walk thru with us who wrote down the previous damages apparently moved to another area of the company. He wrote so tiny on the sheet and even admitted he was new to the job (he was their MAINTENANCE guy before). We lived their for a while and even told them when our dog moved in, so they can start adding $100 extra a month for her. We were up front and honest. My dog has NO fleas and the townhouse had 2 small rooms with carpet and carpet on the stairs. We go to PCS with the military and didn't notice they required a flea treatment for the carpets. The original manager just told us to get the carpets steam cleaned, we did that. So Stanley does our walk thru to leave the townhouse, charges us for stuff that was already messed up. And tell us that we needed a flea treatment so he's going to hold $300 of my money from the deposit. He also told me that if it didn't need it they wouldn't do it, only if the next people complained. I was totally fine with that since I figured I would get my $$ back. We moved off island and I heard nothing from them so I called twice. They told me they are doing the 2nd flea treatment. I was like WHAT? why do you need two? Apparently they used as much of my money as they could for treatments that had NO fleas. I got back $38 because each treatment was around $125!!! I really think these people are shady and just took me to the cleaners because they had my money and I couldn't do anything about it. I wouldn't rent from them again. read more
