When looking for a diamond, you look for the best quality you can. Only EGL diamonds are sold here, and at GIA prices! They are overgraded, and over priced. I bought a 2ct, G VS2 and paid 17,500, for an EGL. It is actually a J, SI2. I have tried to get the situation rectified and Kami has refused to do so. I suggest you find somewhere else to go unless you want to overpay for an EGL. Kami uses the rapaport that comes out every week. And GIA has said that only GIA certified should be used when selling diamonds. Kami even showed us what the price was for that week. I suggest everyone that has already purchased look into getting it regraded by GIA. And for future purchasers, please do your due diligence, you don't want to be in the same spot we are in. Kami is a nice guy at first, spending time showing you different styles available. However, if you're like me and decide to purchase a band but not a diamond from him (because you found much better pricing elsewhere), he will turn on you. After purchasing a band from him and picking up a diamond from a different dealer, I returned to have the ring resized and set. When I asked whether the resizing would be covered, he said of course. He then recommended a different prong and we went off to have the diamond set. After almost two hours (after originally saying the process should take about 45 minutes), we finally returned with the finished product. As I was about to leave Kami casually says "that'll be $95." I thought he was joking. After realizing he wasn't, I curtly asked why he hadn't mentioned this earlier (because if he had, I would have simply returned to the diamond dealer who would have gladly done it free of charge). His response was "I never said it was going to be free." W-O-W. After going back and forth for nearly 10 minutes, it finally hit me: he was upset that he couldn't make money off selling me an overpriced diamond and chose to gouge me when given the opportunity. Kami tarnished what should have been one of the happiest moments of my life. He is the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. Absolutely the best choice. We purchased a square diamond ring..Encrusted with diamonds all over in February of 2007.......That ring has gotten me more kudos................from Amsterdam to Cancun. Absolutely everywhere I go some woman always asks and comments on how gorgeous it is. Well we got our 2nd ring from Kami this past week. I thought it would be next to impossible to out do the first. I wanted a large setting with at least a 2 carat center diamond. After spending quite a bit of time looking at the different settings in his glass case I spotted one that was so sparkly I just had to try it on. We asked to see a 2 carat diamond in it, knowing that we hadn't budgeted for that large of a diamond, I wanted to see it in any regards. He took out several 2 to 2.5 carat loose diamonds and we began to experiment with them. We found one a 2.24 carat center stone.........I just had to have it..........So after getting a price from him...........We found he quoted us less then half of retail. Mission Near-impossible Take a look at the leather band on the right of the picture. It was original for my 14k Gold Euro Geneve Watch. When it became a bit frayed and worn, I decided to upgrade to a 14k Gold Bracelet. After months of looking, the only two jewelers I found (internet) proposed either removal of the watch brackets to allow a bracelet to be welded to the watch or the custom manufacture of a bracelet to fit the existing brackets. That is until I remembered the downtown jeweler with whom I had done business, years earlier - Kami's Jewelers. So, I took the problem to Kami. It took him some time to find a suitable bracelet and to engage a craftsman to make the appropriate modification (20mm to 18mm width). But as you can see on the left of the picture, the result is incredibly beautiful. Furthermore, the cost was most reasonable, considering that I did not have to ship my watch cross-country or wait for the result of a risky manufacturing job. If any of you ever have need of a jewelry modification, like I did, or even just an off-the-shelf item for that special someone, Kami's Jewelers is the place to go and Kami or one of his capable assistants is the person to see. read more

When we stumbled upon Kami's booth, I was drawn in by his patient and attentive saleswoman (Wendy?), who was prepared to let me try on every ring in our price range. She asked me what I did and didn't like about each ring. I narrowed the search to a yellow-gold, tri-stone style, but wasn't finding exactly what I wanted. Finally a gentleman (Kami) in the booth with her, who had been quietly listening, placed three diamonds in my hand. Not only did they perfectly match the diamonds in my wedding band (long story but I already had my wedding band), but they were the exact size and clarity I wanted, and he explained how he could put them in the yellow gold basket setting I liked but with a thinner band than customary.
