At first I wasn't going to write this review because I didn't want to deal with Kamp Kanine anymore after an incident that happened maybe 7 months ago? But I had talked to a neighbor who also had issues in the past and I felt the need to leave this review. We bought the biggest package they had and our pup took a temperament test which he passed. After his first day we was very tired and walking really slowly to the car but we just thought he was so worn out from his first day at daycare. The following day he would not move. He is 60 lbs and I had to carry him to the elevator (we live on the 7th floor of a building) down to the street level for him to go potty because he would not move. That's when I decided to call Kamp Kanine and ask how he was yesterday or if something happened to which they told me he was fine. The next day he still wasn't moving, not even to use the restroom. I had called the vet and they told me to bring him in immediately and they found chemical burns on his paws. I had told them we were at Kamp Kanine the day he started acting funny and they said it's most likely caused from bleach they use to clean the little water area or any other areas at their site. I called Kamp Kanine to let them know, which they replied "did your vet come here and test our water or our soil?" Etc etc. We didn't wanna argue or send him back so we just asked for our refund. Then someone by the name of Gian emailed us back with this looooong explanation that they've been in business for so long and this never happens etc. and they kept telling me he probably got into something at home or I walked him somewhere he shouldn't be. Anyways, Gian ends up looking up my fiancé on LinkedIn and starts including in his email to us, where my fiancé works and how my fiancé probably wouldn't appreciate it if he started accusing his company of x y and z (we made sure to screenshot and save these emails). Totally unprofessional, we just wanted our refund at this point. It was a nightmare. My fiancé's business partner had been going to them for years and we were really disappointed that this was our experience. She had also said Gian was probably new as she had never really heard of him before. I tried to call the owner directly, my fiancé's business partner had given us her information but she never picked up. The worst part was, we never got asked how our pup was doing or a sorry that this happened. Either way, this review was long overdue and I'm glad I've finally decided to post it.. read more

Kamp Kanine is fantastic. Denelle and her staff really care about the dogs they are looking after. I have been there for private obedience and agility classes with Denelle. I have also taken a group novice rally class. Denelle and Sydney (who occasionally covers a class) have been easy to work with. They are have also done my dogs nails. Traveler my dog loves Kamp Kanine! He usually goes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Wednesday they take him on a hike with a large group of dogs. He has so much fun and is completely exhausted when he gets home. It's perfect for a young pup like mine with so much energy! I'm not sure if the negative review I read was true but I can tell you with certainty that it is very safe to send your dog here. I send traveler most the week and we have never had any issues. She led us through Puppy Social all the way to Advanced Canine Good Citizen. Now I am volunteering with my second certified therapy dog. Her staff are top notch, the facility is exceptionally clean and no detail in taking only the best care of the dogs is overlooked. They offer a full line of services including day care, van pick up and drop off, bath & grooming services, hiking outings, boarding, in-house training during day care, at home private training, group classes, and will stop by your house on rainy days to walk your dog. Best doggie daycare in San Diego county! The staff is wonderful and you never have to worry that your dog is not getting enough love and attention. All the dogs are kept in a secure and fun environment. They offer a wide range of services at a very reasonable price considering all the little thoughtful extras that they do for the owners and the dogs. They have an annual fund raiser event for the Humane Society that is awesome every year. So cute to see all the dogs dressed up in costumes. Lol... My mom has been bringing her Golden Retriever Barney here for at least a year now. He went through the training program beforehand, and is such a well-behaved dog. He loves coming here once a week to play with his friends, and from what I've seen, he's quite popular! The staff are so friendly and professional. The dogs here get such great attention and have so much fun. They even have smaller areas for puppies, or dogs with anxiety being around a ton of dogs at once. We took our puppy for socialization classes and Denelle took such great care to not only allow for play time and socialization, but also showed us how to correct potential bad behavior/habits before they happened. Kamp Kanine is amazing! From the ease of signing up to dropping my dog off for the day before work, I was beyond happy. I love the first day report card with pictures, too! The grounds are clean and simple: not crowded, separated by size, no toys or food, not too many benches, covers if there is sun or rain, houses for the dogs to sleep in and more. Kamp Kanine is fantastic! The staff is so caring and I wouldn't trust anyone else with our two pups for day care!! We have a lazy basset hound and a lab mix - they both come home DOG tired, just what you want when sending your pups to doggie day care. I know they are well taken care of because every time we drop them off the staff is sooo excited to see our girls. They even take adorable photos of them sometimes! We have lots of amazing collages over the years and even ones with them dressed up for halloween! I also like that it's not a HUGE spot, more local and low key versus some of the giant places you can take your pup for day care. They offer pick up and drop off to your home for an additional (small) fee which we've taken advantage of a couple of times when we have been too busy. Our lab is an eater (she will eat ANYTHING) and I was concerned about her with the van service and also at Kamp in general, but there have been NO issues at all. We've done the agility Kamp a couple times, our lab loves it! That's a fun option especially if you have a very active pup. Will be taking our girls to Kamp for years to come :) read more

My dog Oreo tends to be aloof. I was not sure how he would take to hiking with Kamp Kanine. The first few times he looked back at me but not any more. He loves it! He senses when the van is in the neighborhood and stands at the gate, tail wagging. When they finally arrive he goes crazy. He gets exercise and socialization. I love that Kamp Kanine has high standards for the dogs who can participate and for the people who work at the camp (all dogs go through an evaluation and have to be up-to-date with exams, vaccines and license, and the Kounselors are skilled in training and CPR). My dog, Seamus, is beside himself with excitement every time we pull up to Kamp Kanine. It makes me feel at ease to know that he is in the best care and is well loved. Another thing is appreciate is that the Kounselors take pictures of the dogs' day, so I get to see the fun my little guy had while I was away. read more
