I'll be honest, this wasn't totally my vibe, but if I could give a 5+ for friendliness and service I would. Kandy Krush Melt is located on Kenton, just off Oakton and when I stopped in there was construction by the Exploritorium across the street. There are fruit teas, milk teas, refreshers, smoothies and ice cream. The owner told me he had been open four months. He was just finishing making the boba. He recommended a guava and dragonfruit tea or brown sugar tea. He added boba at no cost and told me to take a bottle of water, also no cost. There were some couches, not much other seating and I sat for a few minutes. My order was up and the flavor of the tea was good, not too sweet, and the boba was really great, fresh and nicely chewy. The owner offered to remake me a drink of my choice if I didn't like it, since he had, as he said, recommended it. I liked it fine. He also offered me some date juice, which I sampled, it was pretty sweet. There are many tempting flavors of shakes and and freezes (they even have waffles). If this is your neck of the woods, try it. This was a friendly and welcoming place and I'm sure they will try their best for you.

My daughter got a Oreo smoothie here and I came for the Dubai chocolate that is homemade right in the store. He sources the chocolate from Belgium and fresh pistachios from Wisconsin. The owner is a total sweetheart and takes enormous pride in everything that is served. Looking forward to take my other family members here to chill on their couches and watch some cute cartoons. It's definitely a sweet spot in Skokie.

There were very fresh ingredients in the boba. Milkshakes were great, too. Decent selection of desserts but we didn't have any this time.

Our child also really enjoys their "bullet train" transportation system for meat orders which speed down the kitchen conveniently to our table. All other food fare rotates around gradually with clear labels that advise how long to cook certain noodles, vegetables, and assorted ingredients. The restaurant is spacious and feels so even when bustling with high ceilings and adorable glass displays of collectibles. They have a sauce bar with all the necessary accoutrements as well as assorted hot foods and dessert. Speaking of dessert, while they have several to order in the menu as well as boba and other offerings, their seasonal desserts near the sauce bar are awesome. I've had herbal jelly suspended in a milk tea and a strawberry milk variation that were both so refreshing. Perfect palate cleansers. There's a small lot right to the side of the restaurant, some street parking, and parking on the streets nearby (to the back and side). Be careful to read the signage posted to ensure you're in a valid spot.

Love the concept of rotary veggies and ingredients on the conveyor belt, and some meats can come on a train, that looks neat. The good: I chose the herbal chicken and the spicy pickled mustard green soups bases, both soups are great and flavorful, the sauce bar has a great selection to make your own sauce, and the tiger sauce is incredible, (don't miss out on that one), the place is clean and fancy, service was incredible, waitress was checking on us constantly to make sure we are covered. Con: I wished there are more variety on the protein section, some veggies or ingredients are grouped, like carrots and taro, or assorted mushrooms, making it a little annoying if somebody just wanted one ingredient in specific, and the desserts took a little longer than I tough it could. In overall it is great place to dinner and give it s try :)

It was pricey but enough for 2 people to share. Metered parking on a weekend evening was easy. My only complaint is that it had a strange, unpleasant smell inside (we were there in the evening during the weekend of April 25th). Also, when I came a few years ago, it had a really cozy, welcoming vibe packed with comfy couches. Now, it just looks like basic tables and plastic chairs, lacking comfort, character, and charm. I'm hoping to return to try the sweet potato latte and the other shaved ices, but I hope they do something about the smell and make the space feel more cozy and inviting.

Asked for a white chocolate mocha, mango filled crepe and chicken spring rolls. Wanted to purchase by finishing off a gift card with value but the clerk wasn't very knowledgeable. Talking to counter staff worried me a bit. He mumbled something eluding to the lack of ingredients for the drink and suggested boba? Hot drink but a cold drink? They offer so many items. Too many tbh. I'm curious how many they can accomplish properly. Their stand is covered from wall to wall in menu advertisements. Every bare space is occupied with some mention and as is, they lack some key ingredients to make them. The order took about twenty minutes since the clerk, I believe, was alone. The drink was definitely not white chocolate mocha but was probably toasted hazelnut. Also the clerk made it much too sweet. The crepe was basic. Decently prepared but with canned, diced mango pieces and smearable whipped cream. That could have used an additional sweetener. Heck, mango jelly of some kind would have upped the flavor & appeal. Afterwards, I really wished they could have put this on that gift card instead. It blows that their hot drink was average but for the cost you're given a large size. At the mall this is the only spot with hot drinks.

Unfortunately, I did not like my experience at Touhy Fruity…read more I only ordered one drink and waited 20 minutes for it. Now if it was busy and clearly understaffed, I wouldn't mind but there were only 2 people in front of me. What annoyed me the most was that there was a family right behind me who ordered smoothies and their order went out before mine? I simply don't understand. They had two teenagers working at shop who took their time with making the orders making sure to chit chat in between. Not very friendly to the customers, either. Now let's talk about my order. They sell boba tea and charge an extra for the tapioca. Why advertise them as "boba tea" if you're going to charge extra for the boba? If anything just raise the price and put it in the listed price instead of asking me if I wanted boba in my BOBA tea. Just confusing for no reason. They also use powders (which was not surprising) but not very good. My drink was extremely sweet and had an artificial taste. I didn't even finish the drink and tossed the rest. Now the shop itself... Is it a boba shop? Rolled ice cream? Or a Vietnamese restaurant? Trick question. It's actually everything! Menu OVERLOAD! No thank you.

Since we hadn't been here, we decided to check it out. This restaurant is located off Dempster St. in a small plaza. They serve a variety of dosas and Indian street food dishes. They also offer Indian desserts, Indian beverages, Boba teas, and Yemeni Adani Tea. The pricing is reasonable. We ordered a Ghee Roasted Dosa, and extra spicy Mysore Masala Dosa, a Spring Dosa, Mumbai Pav Bhaji, and two Adani teas. The food was served promptly. The food is served in sturdy disposable food trays along with plastic ware and hot beverages are served in coffee shop like to-go, small size (paper) coffee cups. The tea was scalding hot as it was freshly prepared. I had to let it cool off. The plastic lid of the cup was tightly fitted and given how hot the cup was, it was hard to take the plastic lid off. The lid was hot along with the cup. They had the hot cup sleeves but they were too big for their small tea cups. The tea was nice. All the dosas were tasty. We liked them. They had decent flavor and texture. They were a bit thicker than the dosas from other south Indian restaurants we have eaten at. That wasn't a problem to us. The spice level for my dosa was good. The accompaniments with the dosas of sambar, coconut chutney, and tomato chutney, for dosa dipping purposes, were nice. We really liked the coconut chutney (w/ cashews) and tomato chutney (w/ peanuts). They were flavorful. The sambar had a nice flavor (from spices & veggies) but texture wise it could've been better. It needed to be a bit thicker. The Pav Bhaji (bread with mixed veggies in a gravy) had a decent taste but it needed to be thick with some body from the usual veggies in it. The Pav (Indian bread) for the Bhaji was really good. Our experience was nice. The service was decent. We were the first customers after they opened at 12:30 pm but a short time later, the restaurant got busy. If I am in the area again, I would go back. Overall, 3.5 stars.
