Came here on a random week day during enough time in between lunch and dinner for the first time. Luckily was able to find parking. There is also no line inside and lots of tables open and semi, cleaned to be able to sit at. The menu is pretty extensive with lots of different options for add-ons or at N's which is great to see. The girl working was very patient and very nice What is weird is that where you order is? Also, the drink pick up is however, they have set it up so that you cannot see any drink being made One of the drinks we ordered was a lychee drink with no boba and unfortunately, you can tell that there is no fresh lychee or anything even coming out of a can. It is definitely some kind of a powder mix. When I think about the competition of Boba within the town of Skokie and neighboring towns, I really think they need to step up their ingredients in quality overall. T. Rex lived at the very end of the Late Cretaceous period, which was about 90 to 66 million years ago. Tea Rex, however, seems to be alive and well and thriving in Skokie judging by the fan art on the walls. I stopped back into Tea Rex after a few (not million) years and was surprised to see how bright and lively the space was, with so many different iterations of the Dino on the walls. I tried my favorite taro smoothie with boba and it was delicious as always, cool and nutty, with nicely chewy boba. The place was empty when I arrived and my order was up fast. Whenever I'm in the burbs, I usually swing by here to get my bubble tea fix. Miss the walk through window during the pandemic but the inside is cute and service is still very speedy. Love that my go-to taro milk tea is customizable in terms of sweetness (I usually go 25 or 50%)z The tapioca is always fresh here and not rubbery and super chewy (in a bad way) like other spots I've been to and the tapioca comes with the drink and is not an add-on charge. We've been here a few times, and we're never disappointed. The drinks are great, lots of choices, and service is quick. The atmosphere is cheery and fun. I guess I've been drinking milk tea long enough for the flavor I'm looking for to be called "classic," but seriously, the classic milk tea here is terrific. Stopped in for a quick boba tea and ended up getting the Taro Milk Tea with Lychee. It was perfectly sweet and I love the jelly texture. I love that the milk teas are automatically dairy free! The cashier was very helpful when I asked him if the combination I chose would be a strange mix, he kindly assured me people order the same thing as me all the time. We went on a slow day, the inside was very clean and the colors of the decor (and outside of the building) were bright and fun. Wonderful visit today - it's been forever since I've had boba. Years in fact! While hanging out with a friend I haven't seen pre-panini/panorama aka COVID, we decided to stop by. While I can't comment on the interior as ordering outdoor via pick up window was the only thing available, it was still quick! I beyond appreciated that they offered almond milk!!! This is great for someone who is lactose intolerant like myself. It honestly made me very happy. I was prepared with Lactaid pills, but was ecstatic that I didn't have to bother!!! Really cute spot for boba! We came during COVID and they took our order through the window, had contactless pay options, and the workers wore masks. I appreciated them doing what was necessary to minimize the spread of COVID. I ordered a milk tea with boba, 50% sweetness and it was perfect. I do like the taste of tea with non dairy creamer because the milk tea is a bit more thick that way. The boba was nice and supple but could have been sweeter. The boba itself had almost no sweetness. My partner ordered the lychee tea with butterfly pea tea. It was refreshing, but we liked it better after the ice melted a bit (since we don't like sweet drinks and forgot to order less sweet). Mango Lychee flavors are really the best to have on hot summer days. I really recommend! The boba pearls were nice and chewy The only thing that slightly bugged me was that it was kind of pricey for a 16 oz drink made of ice and syrup. The actual boba here is amazing compared to nearby places and the lychee bursting boba was also very fresh and delicious. The drinks were each about $4.50 total - every drink gets one free topping. Would definitely come here more often if it was closer to where I live but probably will still come back sometime! I was shocked at how many people were here but it was definitely worth the wait. She insisted that I try it and while I'm not a huge fan of sugary drinks, I tried the Vanilla latte and love it (coffee fiend that I am). I'm a fan of TeaRex Bubble Tea Cafe. Their logo and their decor are both super cute, and the staff are friendly. A huge plus is that they're also opened late, too, considering they're in the burbs! A group of us usually come here after having dinner, and tend to get a variety of drinks. I've tried the Pineapple, the Honeydew, the Lychee, and the milk tea. I've also had their color-changing drinks that contain the butterfly pea infusion, usually mixing it with the passion fruit. Drinks can be inconsistent, as it can have way too much ice or them being too watered down, even with less ice. I think the pineapple one was the most tastiest, so I tend to just stick with that. There are a handful of chairs inside to hang out and enjoy your beverage; most seem to take their items to go. I've been here about 5 times now and I'm in LOVE. I always order their ice blended drinks because I go to other places for regular milk tea. Plus, I don't know alot of places that do the ice blended option which is sometimes what I prefer more, especially if it's really hot outside. I've tried their ice blended green tea, Thai tea, oreo, taro, and milk tea. All very good, however, the oreo was my least favorite. From experience, their beverages are more on the sweet side, even on regular sweetness so maybe adjust when you're there depending on what you like. The store is always clean and very well put together. The t-rex decor is so cute and pleases the inner asian in me. Service is always on point and prompt. Definitely worth visiting! I had read good things about this place so I had to check them out as I am a fan of boba/ bubble/ tapioca teas. Lately, I have been wanting Milk Boba Teas more than the fruit smoothies. I got here one hour before their closing time. The cafe was packed and some people were still coming when I got there. The cafe is nicely lit, has a nice decor and a decent amount of sitting area. The menu has a good variety options and the prices are reasonable. The service is good and quick. From 10 P.M. - 11 P.M., they have a happy hour deal where you can get any large size drink at the regular size price. WIN! I went straight for their Milk tea with boba. I ordered the Thai tea milk boba tea made with black tea. It was really good. The sweetness and the flavor of the teas were just on point. I enjoyed every sip of it and it was not only thirst quenching, if you will, but also soul satisfying (I guess beverages do that for me as well). I like this cafe's name, 'TeaRex,' and their logo. I love the little details and colors that make this boba (bubble tea) place super cute. Notes: -Plenty of parking (huge lot) and adorable art all around. -Customizable- less/more sugar which is awesome when it comes to the flavors. -insta-friendly! I loved the cute dinosaur and little signs and the wall of dinosaur-art! -Option to have lychee jelly (which isn't offered at the other Boba place in the area: Avalanche Bubble Tea). Between the two I find Avalanche has a lot more options and different flavors. I believe that Avalanche uses a powder mix (not sure about TeaRex) but I liked that Avalanche offered chocolate-peanut butter (and other flavors) which aren't offered at TeaRex. Avalanche is also dimmer inside while TeaRex is more brightly lit (for those that need to study). With respect to taste, I personally prefer Avalanche over TeaRex because of the flavors and did not like my TeaRex milk tea as much (the flavor was a little more watery and not as rich as Avalanche). So I've been here at least 3x this past week- I might be experiencing a bubble tea addiction. Everything about this location is just so adorable. The bubble tea, typically $5-8 depending on what you get and any additions. The best part? You can customize the sugar! (Pretty much anything really) My go to is the watermelon boba, sometime with the addition of the lychee jelly. This does make it a lot sweeter tho. I also get the Thai milk tea from time to time. Oh and the faint whiff of freshly made waffles is so oh inviting. I have yet to try those- maybe next week. Parking has been empty; I've gone later in the evenings but I imagine it can get tight and crowded during a rush.They also have a rewards program using your phone number. Cute little bubble tea place located very close to old orchard mall. If you have the bubble tea cravings like me, this place is the place to check out. There's a small parking lot right in front of the store so it's convenient for those who don't like to parallel park. I've been here a few times in the day time and night time and have no problem finding parking. I usually do not go for blended freeze drinks, but it's delicious at this place. I love my tapioca, but with the passion fruit, lychee jelly is a better combo. I am usually very picky with my milk teas so I tend to go with what I know is safe. My friends on the other hand loves the milk tea with tapioca here, so it should be good as well. The decorations in the store are so cute and if you love to take pictures of your drink, you can do it with the t-tex's in the store.
