Less than a month later, I noticed a suspicious lesion on the sole of my foot--an area I don't typically look at closely. My PCP agreed it looked atypical and recommended that I return to dermatology for further evaluation. I scheduled another appointment with Ms. Kelly in April. After examining the lesion, she told me it appeared to be an atypical acral nevus and recommended either a biopsy that day or a 3‑month follow‑up to monitor for changes. When I received the bill for the second visit, I was surprised and disappointed to find that I owed a balance. Given how soon the second appointment occurred and the nature of the lesion, I believe it was likely present--but overlooked--during the initial comprehensive exam. It was difficult to reconcile a 12-24 month follow‑up from the first visit with a 3 month follow‑up just weeks later. The likelihood that the lesion appeared, grew aggressively, and then stabilized within that brief window seems low to me. I expressed to the clinic that, under these circumstances, I felt the remaining balance should be waived. I spoke with both the billing specialist and the office manager, but they explained that the visit would be billed regardless. I ultimately paid the balance. While the staff and provider were polite and professional, my overall experience was not ideal. I was left with the feeling that the initial comprehensive exam may not have been as thorough as I expected. I fully believe providers should be compensated for their work and recognize that healthcare and insurance systems are complex, but I was not completely satisfied with the care I received at this clinic.

How are they supposed to know how much my charge is when it is my first time to see the doctor? The front office is disorganized; they also have a call center (outside the US) that does not seem to coordinate with the front office. I can be forgiving, but when I got there and they lost my new patient record, it does not leave a good taste as to how they are organizing behind the scene. Dr. Hamidi seems really nice (personally very likable) but when I brought up my experience, she sort of hinted that she does not get involved with the administration, instead of saying, "I'm so sorry that you experienced that and I will be sure to let management know." I'm not sure the office has the level of compassion that patients are looking for. At this point, I'm not sure if I will be returning. Since I live so close to this clinic, I thought it might be a good match, but I'm having second thoughts.

Both physicians were incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. They took the time to understand my situation, explain my options, and help me determine the best path forward. I was especially grateful for their thoughtful, interdisciplinary approach and their willingness to collaborate to create an integrated treatment plan that worked for me. Unfortunately, the professionalism and compassion demonstrated by the providers were not consistently reflected by some members of the front-office staff. While checking out, I witnessed a staff member speak very rudely to an elderly patient who was understandably confused about why her insurance had not covered her procedure. The staff member repeatedly announced the patient's $800 balance loudly enough for everyone in the area to hear. When the woman asked for an explanation, she was abruptly told to either pay or step aside. The patient had a bandage covering her ear and was also seeking information about the cost of reconstructive ear surgery. She was clearly navigating a vulnerable and stressful situation, yet she was treated with little empathy, patience, or sensitivity. The interaction was uncomfortable to witness and raised serious concerns about professionalism and the respectful handling of patients' private financial information. People come to a medical practice expecting care, compassion, discretion, and dignity--not to be berated, embarrassed, or pushed aside. Front-office staff are an important part of the patient experience, and anyone interacting with patients should be able to do so with patience and respect, particularly when someone is elderly, vulnerable, or confused about complex medical expenses. Dr. Bulengo and Dr. Skupsky provided truly exceptional care, and I remain very grateful to them. I sincerely hope the practice addresses this front-office behavior so that every aspect of the patient experience reflects the same high standard demonstrated by its excellent medical providers.

Heller, M.D and Alan W. Heller, M.D . It is a father and daughter team) Not only do they have amazing credentials!!But, they also have amazing bedside manner. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr misha since I felt more comfortable with a woman checking my body for places / moles that didn't look right and etc. (the one most at risk was on my ankle though) When I first made the call, we all know how long it's taking to get into places. I only had to wait about 3 weeks for an appointment? And most of that was my fault since I had an already scheduled surgery for something unrelated. Even when I called to make the appointment the woman answered the phone immediately, was helpful with answering all my questions and etc. she was such a delight! Unlike some places that act like you are bothering them by asking questions. It's in the same building as the quest labs I always frequent (over in the parking lot of the old community hospital by the traffic circle) It does have free private parking. But it does only have about 5 up close spots. And I think 3 - 4 of those are handicap. For the other parking you have to park in the little parking garage which still is not a very far walk (and free) When I first walked in I was immediately greeted by the women behind the desk. The place was all decked out in Christmas decorations, it was so cute. And yes, I showed up in my pajamas and explained how I just had surgery. So the woman helped me with signing in and asked if I needed a bottle of water or anything. Which I think it's safe to say everyone went above and beyond (They also had bowls of candy, which were all out, but they had a huge bowl of samples such as moisturizer and SPF) They also offer cosmetic dermatology such as filler and all the way up to liposuction and other plastic surgery. Which I can't comment on since this is just strictly for the biopsy I believe the nurse who helped me the most name was jasmine? (I know it started with a J) . Jasmine and Dr misha did an amazing job at calming me down. They even brought me blankets, an ice pack to put on my head and neck and kept trying to distract me. When I walked in, he immediately knew what I had and got me started on some serious meds right away. Not wanting me on these medications long-term, he started me on a biologic, and he fought my insurance for over a year when they denied what he prescribed. He also ensured I had plenty of samples of this (expensive) medication while we continued to appeal. This was a lifesaver for me since my condition was so bad I could hardly walk, and this biologic gave me life back. When he left the practice, the mismanagement at this office just got worse. This place was a cattle call, and the new doctor couldn't keep up. They overscheduled patients to the point where waiting times grew to over an hour, and people were lined up in the hallway. It was obvious he was the one holding the place together. I'm now seeing a new physician, but I am grateful to Erik for the care he provided to me while at the other practice. I wish I could have moved with him to this location, but unfortunately, it's not in my provider network. I wish him all the best and would definitely recommend him.
