This is such a great summer tradition. They do have it all year around, but in the summer there is nothing better then strolling through this massive space for an afternoon. There is a wide variety of vendors and food! Plus it is right in the middle of busy randell road, its easy to get too and easy to park. You can find everything for antiques to crafts without much of the socks and chinese imports that sometimes fill other flea markets. There is indoor buildings and outside spaces to explore. Its usually held over a full weekend so its easy to plan time to check it out. Its really one of my happy places! read more

After decades this is still a fun event. I noticed it is a bit smaller since COVID, but still worth a visit. I appreciate they still have a good number of vendors selling old stuff from basements and barns and it's not all mass produced novelty "manually antiqued" stuff bought in bulk from China. You can find decent deals here still. It's hard for the vendors to compete with the internet though, so I'm not sure how long this will keep going. This flea market is HUGE, sprawling through various fairground outbuildings (some air conditioned, some not) as well as vendors in tents or just set up outdoors. We were there for 4 hours and walked 2 and a half miles. If you want it, you're pretty likely to find it. Jewelry, glassware, ceramics, tools, furniture (more small than large but there was some), records, postcards, vintage kitchenware like Pyrex and Anchor Hocking, toys, outdoor art, and probably at least one thing that you'll be offended by, no matter who you are. There's also a lot of food (cookies, food trucks, a small cafeteria set up in an outbuilding, plus some fair food like kettle corn, and vendors selling nuts and candy). We came with a list and found several things on it, plus more! $6 entry fee (you can also get a season pass if you plan to come regularly). read more

This flea market is a shadow of what it used to be. The vendors are sparse. Especially if you go during cooler months. Not many outside, most vendors are inside. I also think $6 a person is way too high for a flea market. Especially when there are fewer vendors or the only vendors are in the few buildings. If your outdoor spaces and outdoor buildings are not full of sellers, why wouldn't you lower the entrance fee at least on those days when there is less to shop from? read more

It's all junk and it's all too highly priced. I was just there this weekend ready to find treasures,much to my dismay it was all junkyard finds and lot purchases extremely priced . Not only is it 6$ to get in but everyone was just walking around empty handed . I see this place not existing sooner than later. As far as flea markets go, it is what you'd expect. Lots of different vendors. A lot of the same stuff stall to stall. The amount of 3d printed items for sale was something that I didn't expect but the kids liked seeing the variety of choices. Honestly, I'd give the flea market 3 stars but bumped it up to 5 because of the food at the Grandslam Enterprises stall. We got ribs, rib bites, Mac n cheese, baked beans and peach cobbler for the 4 of us. The Mac n cheese is worth the price of admission. Hands down the best Mac n cheese I've ever had. The cobbler was perfect with hits of ginger and cinnamon throughout. My kids said they were the best ribs they'd ever had. I was mildly offended but had to agree they were better than mine. Run, don't walk, to the Grandslam Enterprises stall and thank me later. read more

We came here to attend the Christmas On The Fox Craft Fair today. Parking was free and admission to the fair was $3 or $2 with a coupon available online. Many interesting craft vendors were selling everything from jewelry to home decor, raw wildflower honey, hand made hats, mittens and scarfs and art. Kane County Flea market has a variety of vendors selling antiques, collectibles, vintagr and new items. Admission is $6.00 per person, which is a little high for a flea market. It would be nice if it was reduced or there were coupons offered to reduce the admission cost. There is plenty of parking and parking attendants keep traffic moving. Some of the vendor's prices are high, but most are open to negotiating. Food choices are very limited. Absolutely no Covid restrictions and no one wearing masks. Definitely recommend going on a Sunday morning, it is less crowded than Saturday. read more

I used to visit pre-covid alot. It was too much fun. The entrance fee is worth it. If you're complaining about that, then honestly this isn't your type of scene. Because inside there are so many vendors and outside too. So much too see and buy. From vintage to handmade. I will try and make it now. I have recently moved to the area from Seattle and this is by far one of the best flea markets I've ever attended. They have a little bit of everything from a collectible standpoint to fantastic food. I always have a good time at the Kane County Flea Market! There's treasures for everyone in the family to find. From great antiques, original craft items, toys, flowers, lawn ornaments, furniture, etc. It's $5 bucks to get in but worth it for the hours you spend walking up and down the rows of never ending items. Indoor and outdoor vendors and plenty of free parking. Bring a wagon to cary all your items or rent a wagon. They also have food vendors if you get hungry too! Some good snacks/treats to take home. Kane County Flea Market was okay. It was a hot but cloudy day when we were there. The flea market is enormous and if you are not shopper, I mean a REAL shopper, you will get board easily. I went with my wife and daughter. My wife, Kerrie, likes to shop. My daughter Sarah has no off button. We arrived at around 12:30 and left around 4. I was done at around 1:00. In addition to art, antiques, furniture, collectables, and general "junque", they have a variety of food tents and booths. Before knowing there were so many, I stopped at the first one I saw. For $3 I ordered a hamburger. When I saw her pull a wad of aluminum foil out from under the counter and handed it to me, my first thought was "you get what you pay for." The good news is, I did not get sick. The bad news was the taste. To be fair, there were other food booths that looked really good. I ran into one tent, only a few minutes after I forced the hamburger I bought down my throat, that fresh made their burgers, brats and dogs. There are typical festival foods like funnel cakes and fresh made doughnuts. There was also one really interesting place where they had homemade root beer, birch beer, cream soda, and a few others. The catch was, you had to buy your first drink in their souvenir mug for $8. Then, refills were $1 each. I'm too cheap to spend $8 for a soda. All in all, it was fun having a day with Kerrie and Sarah. I'm not sure my first choice would have been to come here, but it was something different to do. My first trip here was with my MIL and my hubs during the first weekend in October, 2013. We arrived at about noon (they gates open at 12pm on Saturdays) to get decent parking. You want to arrive early for a decent parking spot as the space fills very quickly. Expect to pay at least $5 for parking; wasn't a big deal to us. Upon entering there were a lot of crafty, upcycled items. I love both, but to say these items were overpriced would be an understatement. I also noticed that the items I was interested in (one vendor with adorable fall decorations) were left unmarked with no price. I hate that. Vendors 'judge' you based on what you look like and price their merch that way. Reminds me of Chinatown in NYC and you have to haggle with the seller. Nothing at Kane County is worth haggling for (imo). If there's no price I keep on moving along--you're guaranteed to see some items again and again. There were sellers with garage sale like booths, but there were also vendors with Pinterest inspired items, upcycled furniture, mirrors and home décor, baked goods, plants, hot sauces, clothing, lawn items, doggy clothing + treats, sports memorabilia, etc. There were lots of places to grab food, but we stuck with kettle corn and grab-n-go type items. Hubs and I spent around $50 on this particular day and all of our purchases ended up being Christmas gifts. *Note* It's a great place to go for unique gifts for that hard-to-buy for person who literally has everything. We stayed until 3:30 or 4pm that afternoon, as the grounds close at 5pm on Saturday. The vendor with the air plants was unique; there was no one else like him at the entire show. If you're looking for something to do on a Saturday or Sunday, this is your place. It's a great way to kill an afternoon. Plan to go on a Saturday, right when gates open. It's much less busy and parking is a breeze. I plan to go back at the end of May/beginning of June for June's sale. Once a season is enough for me. read more

They charge $6 per person to get in. Oh my gosh that's crazy. I think Montana Charlie's cost $3 per carload. Never per person. They also don't offer a military discount or any kind of discount. Everybody pays the same is what I heard him say. Was not impressed at all. They didn't have very many vendors. Nothing really unique. Not very many food options at all. Much less trying to find a place to get a drink. Don't think I'll head here again. I like Montana Charlie's or the buyer's market ($0.50 per person free parking) much better. read more

Every time I come here I find amazing treasures. Obviously there is better selection during the warmer months, but you can go all year round (it's open the first weekend of every month). Everything, and I mean everything can be had here if you just take the time to look. I am warning you now, if you come here with a wallet full of cash and anything larger than a Honda Civic, you are in for a boatload of trouble my friend. This place is highly seductive, alluring and virtually impossible to resist. However, this is not the place for you if you are impatient, easily distracted, or you only deal with items that are hermetically sealed and untouched by human hands. 9 times out of 10 this is stuff that has been recently dragged from a half century of storage in the basement, only to be displayed on a dusty table on an unpaved, gravel-strewn lot. Another tip - dont go with the expectation that you will find an 18th century table, worth $100,000 for $50. I'm not saying you wont - anything is possible here - but my advice is to buy it if you love it and it brings you joy. Thats what this place is all about. I love the Kane County Flea Market! We typically go twice a year and they are actually held year round, the first full weekend of each month. They have an excellent variety vendors so you get a good mix of antiques, garage-sale types, crafts, jewelry, all kinds of collectibles, yard art/decor & plants. They also have plenty of food vendors and places you can actually sit down to take a rest. Oh, and not all the restrooms are port-a-potties! Yes, if you look around you will find ACTUAL restrooms - though they are still the fairground variety, nothing fancy but much better than the portable kind. This place is HUGE! Come check it out...even if you aren't looking for anything in particular it's still fun to just look around. read more

I used to really enjoy coming to the Kane County flea market, it was a fun day that could be spent with my family and a nice, fun outing for our dog. They have recently banned dogs from the market and the owner was extremely unpleasant about it. In the era of dog-friendly outdoor spaces, this is an extremely poor business decision (aside from the owner being a miserable jerk.) Park on a quagmire or on the grave of a demolition derby, your choice! Rejuvenate with wafting fragrances of mediocre fair food and imposter food truckery. Amaze yourself when finally, amongst the Shabby Chic jungle you actually find something you might permit within a non threatening proximity of your home, then fall to the dusty ground with laughter when you see the price. Go home, lungs full of dust, car full of empty, and never look back on the zombie shuffle. read more

The Kane County Flea Market has changed a ton over the years. Back in the day, it was a dusty field filled with an absurd amount of great deals, gimmicks, and things you can really only ever find at a flea market. Since then, the fairgrounds have been improved, the internet is now a thing, and all those dusty deals have since turned into eBay pricing, Etsy show rooms, and the same people selling the same stuff month after month. We still go, largely for the sake of nostalgia. Sure, there's still potential haggling to be done, but it almost always ends in someone saying, "Well I can get/sell it online for $X," which kind of leads you wondering why you don't just buy stuff online and save yourself the $5 entry fee? That being said, if you're looking for rustic barnwood furniture, the flea market is overloaded with that right now and it isn't something you can realistically get shipped easily. Otherwise, if you want ACTUAL good deals on things, the places to go these days isn't flea markets, it's estate sales. That's where a lot of the people selling the ultra-expensive mid-century modern furniture at the flea market are getting it from. Just Google "estate sales" and you can find all sorts of different directories of local sales. But, hey, if the weather is good and you've got nothing to do on the weekend, walking around the flea market all day is a great way to pad your fitbit stats- Just don't expect any crazy deals, or otherwise adventurous finds. I really shouldn't be allowed into these kinds of places. It's sensory overload. I want to check out everything, which leads to wanting to buy everything. The sellers stack their tables full of things I don't need for cheap and I'm just over here like, "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!" Angela P. took at look at her ten oldest bookmarked places and asked if anyone wanted to go to any of them. I quickly skimmed the list and would have loved to go to every single one, but time and money didn't allow. Thus, I picked Kane County Flea Market because it seemed like the most reasonably priced and I'm always down for a fun flea market adventure. The market takes place on the Kane County Fairgrounds. I was expecting it to be smaller, so seeing how large it was made the $5 admission not hurt so badly and took away some of the bitterness from having to wait in line for what seemed like forever to park. I thought we might only be there about 2 hours, but we entered at 12:30pm and I got into my car around 3:30pm. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how the vendors are set up. Everything is jumbled together. I kinda like it that way. It kept us busy and gave us a great workout by having to walk all over the place to try and see it all. I was trying really hard not to spend frivolously and only left with what I had focused on searching for. I got two large tropical-themed signs for $20 and about 10 ceramic and glass tiki mugs for another $20. We both stopped by one of the drink booths and got blended beverages. Mine was a root beer float frappé and it was fantastic! BRING CASH!.... or don't. Yeah, not bringing money might be safer. read more

From plants and lawn decorations, to shabby chic refinished furniture, junk tables of nuts and bolts, collectible toys, jewelry, homemade soaps, sunglasses, handbags, home décor, kitchenware, vintage Pyrex, homemade dog treats, BBQ sauce, jerky, and even a pushy nun selling organic baked goods...yes, Kane County Flea Market is the BEST flea market I've ever been to. And it's only $5 for entry, with free parking. TIPS: 1. Wear comfortable shoes. Flip flops don't count. You will thank me when you don't get gravel between your foot and sandal. 2. If you go early, give yourself extra time to park. You can also park in the Costco lot. A few minutes after opening, a long line of slow moving cars was lined up on Randall Road. If you get there mid-hours, you won't have to wait. 3. There's a lot of stuff here. Stuff you will covet. Stuff you will want just so you can find out how good you can bargain. Relax. Breathe. Set some rules for yourself. My personal rules: 1) Don't buy anything you can't carry* and 2) Don't buy anything you can't immediately think of a good use for. *That's just a personal preference. If you buy a large piece of furniture, you can wait until the end of the day and drive your car onto the premises. 4. Bring a re-useable tote bag. It will be easier to carry than a wrinkly Wal-Mart bag which could stretch and rip. 5. Don't be afraid to negotiate. Most items are priced reasonably ($5 for a 1950s picture frame), but some are not ($40 for a 1980s leotard *probably* with original crotch sweat). 6. Go with a friend who won't complain about crowds/weather/carrying stuff. If it's a hot day, it's going to be hot here, because it is very crowded. Love. Love love love. I have found so many incredible treasures here, I don't know where to begin. Yes, there is a line in the parking lot, but you know what - its totally worth it. Some things are super expensive, but some things are way better priced the Ebay. I have gotten tons of vintage glasses and glassware, and I know exactly where my guy's booth is. What a great way to spend a afternoon. Warning: This place can be dangerous. I actually had to make a second trip the ATM. I'm a total sports nut, and I love Jerseys. There was a guy who was selling vintage Mitchell and Ness Jerseys for 40-60 dollars. That is a very dangerous thing for a guy like me. The market is laid out wonderfully, there are a couple of indoor area's but for the most part, the whole thing is outside. There are over 200 different merchants who are peddling everything from used doorknobs to vintage clothing. If you are a treasure hunter, this place is a must visit. read more

Sometimes I like to pretend that I'm higher class than I really am. This is what the Kane County Flea Market and I have in common. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent time, as long as you don't mind the long line to turn into the parking lot, having to park really far away, shelling out 5 bucks just for the privilege of walking through its gates, and having to wash your clothes not once but TWICE to get all the dust out. This one is hard to rate on account that there is a lot going on here and not all of it deserves a 2 or a 4 star rating. Therefore I'm going to give a few other ratings within this review. The Flea Market itself - Granted it covers several aches and therefore a host of vendors come here. Ranging from antiques, unique novelties, yard art, furniture, food vendors and of course junk. I certainly like going about looking at all the items here and there is one common thread, which is most of it is overly priced. So much so, that there are many times I walk out of here with nothing in hand. So, for the Flea Market itself in terms of goods, I'd rate this aspect at 2 stars. Getting a deal - Over time they certainly lost sight of the term flea market. There was a time when flea markets generally meant getting things at a good price. Sure, it may have some wear and tear, or needs a little fixing up, but you could still get it for a good price. Not here, as it seem many of the vendors love price gouging and using the words, "vintage," to support their high prices. So, for ease of finding a deal here... it can be done, but it is elusive, thus I'd rate this aspect with a 1 star. The Food - This is kind of middle of the road because you can get some good food at reasonable prices. But other stuff I find it a bit expensive and of poor quality. There is a guy over by the pig barn that has good sausage & burgers and for him, I'd give 4 stars... but for the rest, I'd maybe hand out 2 stars. Grounds - Parking is expensive and can be crazy. On hot days this place can be a bit overbearing, but on mild days it is very nice. The restrooms are good. The general cleanliness is good... you see the occasional overflowing garbage can, but they seem to keep on top of this in general. Thus, I'd give this aspect 3 stars. People Gawking & Something To Do - Now, for this category, here is where the Kane County Flea Market shines. As several others have posted, we do try to make it out here twice a year. In the Spring and the October show. This event generally draws big crowd which always invites a host of characters. So, if your into people watching, then you will not be disappointed. Some of the vendors here are perhaps some of the more colorful. Thus, if your looking for something to do and like people watching, while strolling about looking at rows and rows of stuff / junk, then this is the place for you. Very well organized and plenty of free parking. There is a small food court area with hot dogs, tamales, corn, ice cream etc. If you purchase something big they'll let you drive your vehicle into the market so you don't have to lug it out to the parking lot. Some buildings are air conditioned but the ones that aren't are sweat boxes and HOT. Most stuff is outdoors so bring a big hat and sunscreen. Prices are high IMO so be ready to bargain. read more

I don't mean to rain on this open air market or anything, but I'm not quite as high on this flea market as the others. And it's got nothing to do with the fact that it's almost literally in my backyard... Actually, it's got more to do with the fact that prices here seem to be getting really out of hand. I mean, most of this stuff is junque - with limited value beyond the kitsch factor. There is antique furniture here that someone's been hauling to and from this market for years. There are pieces of tin ceiling by the hundreds. And yet the prices seem more like something you'd find at a trendy downtown Chicago architectural salvage yard. No, I think these foks have figured out that all us ex-urbanites have way too much money (or else why would we pay so much for so little land around our houses?). So they take the same trash that they sell out in Sandwich for a quarter and mark it up to $5 here... I say we should all let it sit here all summer and then join Monica A. out here on the all-nighter in September and see how badly these folks want to avoid packing it all away for the winter! read more

When this show is in full swing it is really a great time. Go on Saturday, not worth paying early admission because no-one is set up that early, but do go Saturday. they supposedly have a delicious bean (meat based) soup, but the book The Queen Flea, for the recipe, written by the original owner (now deceased). Hunt the fields first, that's where the finds are. read more
