I have been to around 8 groomers in Chicago and Austin with our dog Ace and Kanine Klippers has easily been in the top 2 groomers we have been to. First of all, when Ace is done with his appt. he is happy. They take good care of him. I have had some nightmare experiences where my dog had been so poorly handled, he would be traumatized after the grooming. KK treats their pets right. Also, Ace gets a great cut, and KK follows instructions verbatim which is nice. They don't take their artistic interpretation of what they think the dog should look like. Highly recommend. We chose this place after reading the yelp reviews and the fact that it's right around the corner. We couldn't be happier with KK. Everyone is always so friendly and they're so good to our pup. They did an AMAZING job grooming my mini-Australian Shepherd and pricing is even cheaper than where I used to go! His haircut is the perfect length, and he smells incredible!! I took my dog in for a full groom service and I was surprised that their prices were reasonable. I trusted my dog with them. I didn't appreciate that they nicked my dog so much that I saw skin and a gash. They didn't inform me about the wound nor explained how it occurred. I was wanting this place to work for us. I try supporting mom and pop Austin businesses instead of the chain industry. But, when a local business doesn't treat you like they want your support, not only is it sad, but causes customers to seek out the big chain businesses. read more

This place is so wonderful! We take our little chihuahua, Sake, here whenever we can and every time we pick her up, she's looking gorgeous and smells absolutely amazing! She smells so clean for at least up to 2 weeks, the shampoo that Kanine Klippers uses is fantastic. The two girls that work there are so pleasant and welcoming. It's never a drop and go, they genuinely care about you and your pet. I love the attention that is given to Sake there, I know she is safe and very loved and well taken care of. I am so glad I found this place...and so are my furbabies! I was referred here almost 4 years ago by a friend and haven't looked back since. This is a true Austin treasure. I almost don't want too many people to find out about this place...but must rave! My pups always come home happy, smell so good for weeks, and look freshly groomed for months after being groomed. My dog looked like an orphan this morning. Her nails were so long. I found Kanine Kilippers on Yelp, gave them a call, they said to be there anytime before 3:00 pm today. I got there about 11:00, waited about ten minutes while they finished with another customer. The girl was very gentle with my older dog and took her time clipping her nails. She did a great job and when finished asked if she could spray her with doggy perfume. It only cost $9 and we were out the door. I will definitely take her back and hopefully, get her bathed next time! read more

I've been coming to Kanine Klippers about every 2-3 weeks for the past 6ish months. I LOVE them! I have two dogs, one happy go lucky and one who is terrified of new places/people and has had some really bad experiences with nail clippers so I can't do her nails at home. Kanine Klippers were so nice, gentle, patient, and understanding with my scaredy-cat dog (and the regular guy, too!) and were totally fine with me petting her and feeding her treats the whole time to make her feel better. She's gone from terrified shaking to "mom ugh do i have to? i don't want to. alright alright fine, but give me the treats!" Kanine Klippers is generous, too. They've been great with giving me tips to help keep my dog's nails short between visits, and share the name of the products they use when asked. I have recommended Kanine Klippers to all of my friends that are looking for grooming services, and so far two of them listened to me and are also very happy with Kanine Klippers! I like that the staff is always willing to work with you, too. When I have specific grooming requests I'm always accommodated to the best of their ability. I'm always so pleased with the work they do that despite being a bargain-hunter I can't seem to help myself from giving at least a 20% tip every visit and sometimes even more. Again, I cannot recommend Kanine Klippers highly enough. read more

I have been coming here for a little over a year now and I will never go anywhere else. I have a Shih Tzu and when I first got her I was taking her to petsmart in southpark meadows right across the street. They never did an awful job but they also never did as an amaizng job as Mary Beth and her team does. I was paying 60 something at petsmart and here I pay 40 something so for the quality of their work being easily 60% better than at petsmart for 20$ less it is definitely a good deal. I just got another Shih Tzu and as soon as hes old enough I will definitely be bringing him here. I have never been dissapointed with anything and Sweetie always seems super happy when I come pick her up! I would 110% definitely recommend this place to anyone! . read more

We are so pleased with Kanine Klippers. Our Shih Tzu Bailey, looks great everytime we take him. They do a wonderful job on his haircut and he always smells so good! I went to the new location on Slaughter and S. Congress. They were super easy to get an appointment with and very friendly. When I went to pick up my boy he looked awesome, and was not stressed at all like when I would pick him up from other groomers. They wanted to be sure i was completely satisfied with his cut and gladly took him back touch up one little thing for me. Also their pricing is the best I have come across in Austin. I took my schnauzer mix in this morning, and couldn't be happier with the results! She looks great and smells wonderful. I'm definitely coming back to this groomer! I've been going to another groomer for years (Petco in Sunset Valley) and my dog's haircut has been ok...not great...not awful. A little choppy, but she is a mix breed. My biggest issue is that she normally has to sit there for 7-8 hours even when I make an appointment three weeks in advance. I've actually had to take her back because they didn't trim her nails, and her vet commented how they were obviously not cut in a while. Kanine Klippers finished my girl in 3 hours, did an exceptional job, and my dog seemed very upon return to my home. Normally she's tired, thirsty, and I feel bad for putting her through a grooming experience. The price is equal to petco (about $60 for a full schnauzer groom, bath, cut, and nail trim). I am a very happy customer. I made my appointment about three weeks in advance because of so many positive yelp reviews, and I am so happy that I did. The grooming salon is very clean, and the ladies were very nice and attentive to what I wanted for my girl. If you are looking for a grooming salon in South Austin, definitely check this place out.
