Came here for the first time with my friends. We came back home to visit from Texas and have never experienced anything like this before. I honestly thought this was going to be mediocre or somewhat boring and for only kids, but boooooy was I wrong. We did a family feud-like game show amongst my friends who wanted to split the teams up to mens vs women. I'm sure they regretted it because the men destroyed them lol. Overall, great host and setup to make it actually feel like you're at an actual game show. There were a ton of different game challenges which allowed different people to engage. I would've loved to try their escape room too, but we didn't have time for that. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center on the 2nd floor in the middle of the mall near Target.

You can choose your games or have it randomized. Wish we would have came with a bigger party, but it was still fun playing two versus two. Ask for Olivia!!! Great host!!! I will definitely come back and seek her out!!

Great Big game show is located in Ala Moana close to Target. Why not 5 stars? It is because we had 17 in our party and they said they would accommodate all of us. When we got into the room, we were separated into 2 teams. There were 7 name tags on our side with 7 buzzers - so 14 contestants total. Some of us decided to take turns on the games. Overall - lots of fun! I believe our game host name was Cassie and she was fantastic in her role. If you love playing games, like smack talking with family/friends and are competitive - this is for you. There is no where to sit, so this isn't a place to go for people who can't stand for long periods.

We booked with another team of strangers and it was so fun! Our game show host Christian was witty energetic, funny and kept the vibes exciting. We will definitely try this again!

That lying, stink breath, snake of a property manager who takes weeks to respond & overbilled you, make you see red? (SWING that metal pipe!) You ever feel so angry, you want to scream and break sh*t without someone calling the cops? (SLEDGEHAMMER that plate!). (All of this is being done legally & safely, of course, with safety suits and helmets/gloves, if you decide to drop some $$ and spend some time here.) There is a good selection of shattery breakables to choose. We were given 45 minutes but the two of us finished in about 20 (I guess we had a lot to unleash!). It gets hot in the helmet/suit, especially when you're expelling all that rage, so expect a good workout (cathartic even!) Call/check out their site for discounts/promos (including Kama'aina). Parking: lots of garage parking around the Ward/Kaka'ako area, if you don't mind a short warmup walk over.

Tried Out a Rage Room for the First Time - Totally Worth It!…read more I've been hearing about this rage room for a while and finally decided to check it out. I called ahead to ask about any discounts for locals or birthdays, and they told me they do offer a local discount with valid ID -- nice little bonus! They also said they had availability that day, so I figured, why not? The whole experience was super satisfying. Ever feel like breaking something at work but don't want to get fired? Break n Anger is the place to let that urge out safely and legally. Here's how it works: You get to choose 2 items from the top shelf and 5 items each from shelves 2, 3, and 4 -- so about 17 items total to smash. After signing the waivers, you suit up in a jumpsuit, gloves, and a helmet. They offer earplugs too, but I skipped those -- the sound of breaking stuff is half the fun. Honestly, the time flew by -- I went all in for 10 minutes and it felt like seconds. I probably should've paced myself, but I really wanted to let the rage out. No regrets though -- it was super fun, and I can totally see this being a great team-building activity. I'm definitely planning to go back and try the premium items next time!

Not only was Chef Britney THE BEST instructor (she's so funny, informative, and patient! PLUS her food was amazing!), but the team at Hana Kitchens was also welcoming, fun, and so thoughtfully ran the event from start to finish. Navigating health issues while trying to enjoy events like this can be tricky, but I felt genuinely included and cared for the entire time. From having a chair ready when I needed it to offering a dumpling filling I could eat despite my food intolerances to even having N/A drink options available, every thoughtful detail made such a difference. I used to be a huge foodie before some new allergies hit me, and hearing Chef Britney say, "I made something you can eat!" honestly meant more than I can say. I truly wasn't expecting any accommodations and would've been happy just to participate, but that gesture let me relax and enjoy the experience like everyone else, without having to ask for adjustments or draw attention to myself. Thank you again for creating such a warm, inclusive environment. I'm so grateful and already looking forward to the next class! Highly recommend these classes to everyone! Some tips: Parking entrance is on Bethel St. (you can plug in 847 Bethel St. to your nav to get there). The parking attendant told us that you can press either button upon entry (Harbor Court or CC) and it'll be fine. We parked on the fifth floor and took the elevator down to the third floor and waited outside. They let us in about 15 minutes before the class started.

One of my friends had them come out for her birthday and we play for about 3 hours at Sand Island. At first, I was like come on really... How fun could this be? But I gotta tell you, it was a lot of fun. And a lot tiring as well lol. I mean you're running around trying to hit people and not get hit at the same time. I hate to admit it but I was one of the few that got hit in the face lol... So pretty much she called them and made an appointment. They come and set everything up. I mean everything. All the props, masks, bows and arrows. There was two of them and they showed us how to play and officiated all the games. They were really nice. Pricing is $400 but for 3 hours but we had about 20 people show up who wanted to play so it was only $20 per person. Only 12 can play at a time which is 6x6. I feel 6 on 6 is good, you don't want more than that. The field can get pretty small with more people. The concept is pretty much like dodge ball but with arrows. I highly recommend them and go check them out. www.archeryhawaii.com

We were looking for something fun to do with our daughter on the long Labor Day weekend especially…read morebecause we rarely get weekends off together, so we wanted to make it as special as possible. She loves the idea of escape rooms, but panics when we're in them LOL! I scoured the internet for something we haven't done before and all the escape rooms were either too pricey, wouldn't explain how to escape when we inevitably didn't breakout, or didn't have private escape rooms. Then Google suggested Scaventours which in all my days of searching never appeared! Scaventours is on the ground floor of Marriot Waikiki. Opposite side of the hotel from the Valet. The side with the tour bus pickup. The sign says they're open daily from 9-7 I believe, but you can look up the games and book online. We booked our game morning of and all went well. There's no parking, so we parked at the Zoo like they suggested. We parked at the back half of the zoo (Mauka side) and just followed that road straight pass Denny's. That path lead us straight to the correct hotel entrance to find Scaventours easily. ALSO, the Zoo Parking wasn't taking debit cards and my husband only had a $10. He paid for 2 hours but the machine didn't give change so we got ripped. Be aware of that when parking there. After reading up on the games, I decided we would do Kanaloa's Curse. A scavenger hunt that stayed INSIDE the hotel with various puzzles fit for ages 6-11 even though some of them had me stumped. I appreciate that the game isn't timed and that there was an option to stay inside the hotel because I'm not trying to take my 7yo scavenger hunting on the streets of Waiks. It was super reasonably priced at $23 for my husband and I and $14 for my daughter. We were given the map and a clipboard of puzzles, complimentary pens and candy and we were off. The hunt took us through the ground floor of the hotel finding different things and solving puzzles. It took us just about an hour with my 7yo finding everything and doing every puzzle, so it was PERFECT for her!! At the end, we returned to the store, unlocked the treasure, she got some prizes, and we took photos with the mascot raccoon statue. She was immediately begging to do the rest of the hunts. Successful find both Scaventours and the actual scaventour!!!!

My company hired Treasure Hunts Hawaii (THH) for roughly a 2-hour treasure hunt. Based on Yelp…read morereviews, THH seemed like a good choice and a lot of the employees were looking forward to participating in the hunt. Keep in mind, the company I work at has a little less than 60 people coming to this activity held at a beach park. THH was pricey, so we had high expectations. I know, for me, I thought it would be a hunt filled with tough clues (the type that can really stump you), running around with a sense or urgency, different paths for the different groups, and worth the amount we spent. The day of the hunt came and everyone was super excited to see what we would end up doing. There were two people from THH that set up the area with clues and would give us instructions on the actual hunt. It may be due to my job, but I wish they gave us the instructions BEFORE the hunt to prepare and we could become familiar with the instructions without worrying about being behind other groups because we were busy reading the rules of the game. Anyway, I remember distinctly that we were told that groups were given different clues and, thus, different paths, since we had more than ten groups participating. There were three parts to the hunt - the actual treasure hunt, scavenger hunt, and trivia. The hunt was fun to do, but the hunt did not meet expectations and I felt that we could have done the hunt ourselves. The reasons for the low review: - all the groups had the same clues, so we had the same path. Read: it could have been follow the leader - one group figures out the path/clues and everyone else follows. - the clues weren't that difficult to decipher - one clue was wrong (quick math question - what is 3 to the power of 0...it's not 0) - the scavenger hunt could have been explained a bit more or to be consistent with applying the rules. For example, we were asked to bring a rainbow. Keep in mind, unless it is stated, it cannot be a picture or video. I found out that points were given for a picture of a rainbow. Overall, the one star is because the company's services were expensive and that set a level of expectation that they didn't meet.

My company recently used Treasure Hunts Hawaii to plan and coordinate a team building…read morescavenger/trasure hunt. There were appx 60 of us at Magic Island Beach Park. Two individuals from THH came to start the hunt. The hunt consisted of a trivia portion, scavenger hunt and the actual hunt. They were not the best communicators and many of the teams were unsure as how to proceed; it was kinda like here are the clues and here is the trivia sheet...go and do it. They suggested that a good strategy would be to split up.....I thought this was supposed to be team building. For the most part the trivia was pretty easy as you could use your phone, etc and seemed to just be a pointless time filler. The scavenger hunt was mediocre at best.. There were also loopholes ie you could just go and buy many of the items on the list...stickers/clothing items etc. The treasure hunt was also nothing special. Most of the clues/items were just spread out over a large distance. If it was in a smaller area all the teams would have probably finished in 10 minutes. Most of them involved you solving some type of basic riddle etc for a clue then walking to the next area. Overall, after reading the positive reviews on Yelp, myself, along with the many of the participants (we took a survey) were disappointed with the overall experience. Honestly, using google and some common sense most anyone could have done what THH did and for much less money...our fee came out to over $2,100 for 2 hours of 'fun'!!!!! -- that didn't even include the cost for prizes for the wining teams etc. all of which we had to provide ourselves. If you are looking for a good group/business activity I suggest you look elsewhere.

She selected this picture of a waterfall with a flowering tree and butterflies because the other pictures looked "touristy"... haha! The venue (The Beach House) was a local bar in my neighborhood. It was convenient for me since I live and work in Kaneohe. I knew where it was (next to Windward Mall) and that there was free parking...and a restroom with curtains instead of walls to designate separate stalls! Tip: Just lock the door for privacy!
