Been here a couple times and service was always great. They offer you water, tea, or coffee. There's a men/women restroom located outside by the hall. Code needed to get in. The AC in the salon is pretty bomb. The salon itself is a bit small but enough for you to have personal space. The salon has 5 chairs, 3 shampoo bowl, 2 or 3 dryers and a room for waxing. There's also a couple chairs in front for people to sit and wait. I got the pleasure of having Jazmine service me. She's worked on me before and always did an amazing job. She's very nice and friendly. Parking is available but gets packed real quick due to Jamba Juice, Starbucks, My Cafe, a barbershop and a nail salon being downstairs. Make sure to double check where you're parking because there's signs that say 30 mins or 3 hours limit to park. read more

I've been looking for a salon that has quality and is affordable....for years! I found this place actually from yelp reviews so I wanted to make sure to write a review after I got my hair done so other people can find a good salon. -I was extremely happy with my hair, which was done by MOON she was one of the best hair professionals I've been to in my life, & theres been many. -She was very knowledgeable with half/full Asian hairs and all types of hair, and high lift colors. Not many people knew how to properly deal with my hair because it's naturally dark brown, it had different colors and I bleached & colored it to such a high lift platinum. -What shocked me was, for 4.5 hours of work and how much quality and hard work Moon put into my hair, the price was not near as much as I used to pay for just half the service at Regis and other salons. I've been to every salon everywhere. -After I got my hair done my Snapchat and insta were blown up.... duh, I've definitely gotten the best feedback from my friends about this hair. Worst experience ever! It doesn't deserve any star...Will not be returning! Didn't get what I scheduled an appointment for after making an appointment a "month out" with Nani for wash, CUT & style. After confirming their new address I called and asked if it was still ok to come in. I even said I did not want to mess up any other appointments. She said no problem. Get there for appointment 5 mins late and say I'm here for Nani and the stylist I spoke to says have a seat. I sat there for over 35 minutes and no service. Finally asked another stylist is Nani there and she rushes to the back to get her. Nani comes out tries to apologize for the misunderstanding and I excuse it. Then I sit in her chair and she has me down for a wash & style. When clearly I scheduled for a wash, CUT, & style! I was able to book an appointment for an updo last minute and be seen immediately. The staff was very professional and welcoming which is hard to find in many areas nowadays. I decided to try somewhere new and I was not disappointed. I rarely let anyone other then my usual stylist of 20 years do my hair because of so many disappointments. Upon arriving on honestly had no idea of what I really wanted because cost was going to play a huge role. I've always wanted an ombre style but having light brown hair and highlights which also had some left over red in it would cause for some drastic chemical treatments which I didn't really want to do. So MOON was my stylist and she really wanted to make sure she new exactly what I wanted. She was very understanding and didn't try to up sell me or convince me to do something that would damage my hair. I was very happy, because I hardly get my hair done maybe 1x a year. Moon advised that doing a full color would be best. She suggested mixing 2 colors together a purple brown and red brown. With the highlights I currently had in my hair would result in a ombreish look. I went for it and 3 hrs later I had a look that I was happy with. I had MOON also cut my hair and she cut off the exact amount which really got me. I hate when I say cut 1 inch and these ppl cut 3-6inches off. I Def recommend Moon. read more

I needed a root touch up and a cut and was lucky that Kaeden was available for a walk-in. He was attentive and friendly and thoroughly explained the processes to me and asked questions to be certain he knew what I wanted. I don't know about you, but I DON'T like surprises. Especially when you call to get a quote and then end up paying more. I was looking for a new salon and found Kapolei Salon on Yelp. I called to find out what they charge for a haircut and was quoted $25 for the hair dresser that I selected. I went into the salon and the first thing she asks me is, do I want a shampoo.... I didn't know what to say; that was the first time that anyone asked me that question. So I said I don't know does it matter? She said she prefered to do a dry cut. So I said okay. I did not like the cut that I had, so she cleaned it up, and re-shaped it. The back portion of my hair and it was wavy so she asked if I wanted her to flat iron it. I said ok. She only flat ironed the back of my hair and that was it. She rang me up for $47 at the register. I was surprised. My appointment was less than an hour, no shampoo or blow dry. I'm disappointed because I don't like hidden fees. I called back and was told her fee starts at $25 and goes up depending on what they do. I wish I had known that I would be charged more to flat iron a small portion of my hair. I liked the haircut, but don't like their style of hidden fees. I like to know what I'm paying for upfront. read more

I was originally going to go to one of those chain salons but decided to check Yelp to see if there were other salons (with better ratings) in the area. I was pleasantly surprised to see Kapolei Salon pop up! I called as soon as they opened for an appointment and was able to get in just a half hour later. It has been a while since Ive gotten my hair cut and it was pretty long! I wanted to chop it off but I was pretty nervous too. Raedon listened to exactly what I wanted and was reassuring the whole time. He did a great job cutting and styling my hair and also gave me good advice for how to maintain my new, shorter locks. He was also very nice and friendly--he made it a point to make conversation. I am so glad to have found a salon this amazing so close to home. I will certainly be returning. I'm not one to make complaints because I like to look at a glass half full. I thought it was time for my 12 year old daughter to go to a salon and to stop going to a shop like Fantastic Sam's or Supercuts. The results were always great as she normally would get a trim off her ends and a simple long layer cut. My daughter has bra length wavy hair. Due to her hair texture, her hair is often dry. It often gets frizzy if its humid. This time I wanted to try kapolei salon to have her hair deep conditioned and a simple cut. Initially she told me that the cut would be $18.95, but when we got there she said itll be a regular adult cut because "her hair length is like an adult." Hmmmm..most kids her age have longer hair. Her hair was not hula length long. We decided to just go with it because she needed to have it deep conditioned for a valentines dance and a function over the weekend. Long story short..we said long layers, she plays sports so her hair could be tied up, and her hair is wavy so long layers would help. The sytlist also agreed to keep her hair long. Anyway, my daughter came out ..with a shoulder length blunt cut and bangs chopped to the sides of her ears. She kept saying she looked like a boy. She cried and was miserable ..after she washed it at home..her short bangs couldnt go behind her ears or be pulled up into a ponytail. The length has no shape..and it looks like it's just cut straight across the back which made her hair even thicker. We paid 70 bucks! We bought accessories such as head bands to make her hair work for her...all I could do was to reassure my daughter that her hair will grow and not have her hair cut there again. On the positive note, the deep conditioner was great on her hair. read more

Since my husband and I moved to Kapolei a few years ago, I've been in the hunt for a good stylist near our house and I think I've finally found one at this salon! Jazmine did a wonderful job listening to me and cutting my hair! I usually stick to my normal bob hair-cut, but she managed to cut my hair the perfect length all around. In the past, I've had my hair either too angled in the front or too short in the back, but today I walked out with a big, satisfied smile on my face and can't wait to show my husband when he gets home lol. The price was also very reasonable and well-worth it for the time Jazmine spent washing, cutting, and styling my hair. I'm really picky with my hair. It's been 2 years since I last did anything with it. I opened Yelp and they had all excellent reviews. And turns out one of the reviews was from someone I know. So I decided to chance it. Scheduled the earliest available appt for today, didn't even ask who was gonna do my hair. Nani did my hair and let me just say OH MY GOSH I am in love with it! Literally first time ever that I've actually completely loved the end result. It's either a little too short (cuz people cut it shorter than I want then tell me "it's gonna grow out fast") or it's the wrong color or its crooked... Blah blah blah. But Nani took the time and helped me figure out what to do. I didn't know exactly what I wanted just knew I wanted something different. Usually the person gets frustrated with me and doesn't even give advice. Nani gave advice and on top of that it was what I forgot I wanted. Lol Like the layers I knew what I wanted but didn't know how to put it into words. But she nailed it. And the color. I only asked for caramel and red but really wanted blonde also but didn't wanna seem like wtf kind customer. But she offered the blonde w/o me asking. And she nailed the color also. And she gave tips on how to style my hair. Like she asked if I use a hair dryer or flat iron I said no. So she gave tips on how to style my hair using the methods I already do (which is air dry). Lol I lazy. (((She said after I wash it, gel it and roll sections in cut towel pieces and tie it. Then dry half way, sleep then when I take it out in the morning it'll be wavy))) I can't wait to try it. So anyways sum it up... Nani is so professional, nice, and she nailed my style and color WITH NO PICTURES!!!! The owner Moun is really nice too. I feel like they all are just very down to earth local style but super professional at the same time. Thank you Nani and Kapolei Salon! I will definitely be back again. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went in wanting an ombré. I showed Larissa, a picture of the color I wanted my hair. I was extremely shocked and dismayed to see my hair after shampooing was Bleach Blonde!!!! My hair is naturally black and I have dark skin so blonde hair does not look flattering, nor was it what I asked for or showed her at all. Also, I'm Active Duty military, I can't go to work with my hair like that, it's eccentric! She did not use hair dye, but bleached/stripped my hair! She tried to fix by putting another toner on. I got up from the chair and walked out. Went to Target to buy black hair dye and fix it myself. I asked for an ombré but she did a botched job of highlights all over my head. Not an ombré at all. And the ends of my hair are completely burnt!!! I now need to cut at least and inch off my hair and I just had it trimmed earlier this week. I am extremely upset and cannot believe that a salon would do this to a persons hair. I'm not sure Larissa knew what she was doing, but in my opinion she should not be allowed to touch anyone's hair! read more
