This was my first time going to Cosmic Beauty, and it won't be my last. I had a great experience. I just recently had a baby, almost 4 months and it's really hard to have time to do anything. Luckily my mom was able to watch baby for a couple hours. I was in need of a hair cut so I called Cosmic beauty at 3:15pm to see if they had any openings & luckily they had one at 4:15pm. Location is located in Ka Makana mall, closest to Macys side, I really love the location because there's always parking on that side of the mall. When entering I was welcomed by a worker at the front counter. Let her know I had an appointment, she told me the person just finished her client and that I could have a seat to wait. I literally only sat for 3-5 mins, which is not bad at all!! I've had hair appointments BEFORE where I would wait 20-45 mins for a stylist even with a appointment. SO THIS WAS AMAZING. My hair stylists name was Tiffany, who was really nice and really professional. I normally do a long layer, really easy basic. She asked me questions no other hair stylists asked me before, which shocked me. I really liked that because I learned something new and she was just very knowledgeable and wanted to make sure she would do my hair the way I liked. Overall my experience was amazing. From booking the appointment, the moment I walked in and the moment I walked out. Went in for a a silver BALAYAGE, stylist gave me these weird HIGHLIGHTS that went a quarter way to my roots and made it look like an outgrown full head dye that looked like that the SAME day I got my hair done. Paid $400 for it and it looks like I did it at home. Stylist was 25 minutes late and they didn't put my $50 deposit toward anything and would have kept it if I hadn't called for it back. Spend your money somewhere else. EDIT: after multiple people telling me my hair didn't look like a balayage (not 5 weeks later, the day I got it done!) I finally decided to say something because of how upset other people were about how my hair turned out) The picture was also taken about 2 weeks after it was done and google lets you know that hair will typically grow about one-tenth of an inch in that time span so what conclusion do we come to ladies and gentlemen...Also the stylist TEXTED me 5min later letting me know she'd be late and did in fact show up over 20 min late , nevertheless spend your money and time elsewhere!! no other reputable salon even has as many 1 stars as this place, which says a lot be sassy manager, love it. read more

I decided on a gel manicure & a regular polish pedicure with that vitamin c option or something. It was the holidays & my bday! I wanted to treat myself. I appreciated that my nail artist kept checking on my comfort & how I was liking the color & look of my polish. I was really happy with my toes until I realized there was a spot that was messed up. Maybe it was me. But I was overall happy with my toes. My manicure was a fine. I went with pearly & glitter & gradient. I liked it, but the top coat applied was kind of lacking & bumpy. I think that if the finish was more smooth, I'd like it better. Not sure if that's just not attainable with chunky glitter. Upon leaving I was also able to inspect my nails a little more. I do not like to write terrible reviews but this experience was pretty bad. They are lucky they employ polite stylist! My three star review comes from the two stylist that took care of my daughters. If they weren't so nice and did a good job I would've left 0 stars. I called, granted it was last minute, and they said they could accommodate for the three of us. We got there, they said two will go first, luckily I let me daughters go first because after my second daughter was finished I asked if they were gonna take me because that is what was communicated. It has been a week since my appointment at Cosmic Beauty, and my hair is better than expected for a week out. I actually think my hair will hold up for a while after the service I received. The salon is clean, comfortable, and well appointed for mani/pedis and hair styling services. The staff was polite, there were no weird, uninformed comments, I wasn't constantly stared at, and no one asked to touch my hair as when I went to another salon in town. That being said, Jerae was a trooper and a professional who takes hair care services seriously. She was kind considerate, and most importantly, gentle and thoroughly professional with her hair styling techniques. She has no fear. She is confident in her skill set and took my appointment as an opportunity to learn and explore. My head is a lot, a lot to handle even with having shorter hair, and Jerae did not back down. A number of hours later, I walked out of Cosmic Beauty, having had the best salon experience ever. I was only able to give her an okay tip this time. But I look forward to returning and compensating her for her patience and skill. Hmm....I wouldn't say that I had a horrible experience. I suppose I had higher expectations that fell short from being met. The establishment itself is nice and clean. However, the service was meh. Particularly, the quality of the finished product for a pedicure, uneven nail shape + unevenly applied polish. For full transparency however, it makes me uncomfortable to assert myself multiple times for a standard service, so I opted to refrain from saying more. It's an anxiety thing. I don't recall the tech's name, but for starters, the 'massage' portion of the experience felt more like a graze on my legs and feet. No exaggeration, close to zero pressure or effort. Please don't go if you are trying to get your extensions with microchip done.. I went for a consultation and I ended up saying yes .. she charged me 100$ for removing them .. and also bonding them and washing them(which she didn't bond them). She said she had a 25% off deal, but they didn't add it. When I asked she said oh it's only for the install I said ok. Mind you I came with like 300g of hair when she quoted me she said I will charge 100$ an hour and it will take me up to 4-5hours to put everything back. I said ok, I came back the next day and got my hair done. She had another appointment at the 4th hour of me getting my hair done. When she was done I touched my hair I had not even half of the hair installed and she was done and she took all the 4 hours to put literally like 60g of hair .. she didn't bond them because she didn't have the bonding glue and there was sooooo much hair in the floor from fall out. And when I asked her why it felt like very little hair she said she couldn't do all because I was "balding" but in the consultation she didn't say anything. So she charged me the full price for less then half Of the hair. I had HORRIBLE fall out it was embarrassing where ever I went my hair would fall out and even extensions. I was dropping them on the floor and didn't notice it.. SOOOOO embarrassing. I msgd her on Insta and she said she can add extra hair but she was going to charge me by the hour ??? How and why ??? If the quote was for all the hair. I am 3 weeks in since I got my hair done and half of the hair she put on me fell out. Now I have to go get this fixed and lost over 500$ including tip for a garbage job. Also hair pops out of the microchip like a sloppy job. I'm sorry but save your money and do your research instead of going to the first place you see like I did!!!! When I left the place I wasn't the happiest but the job looked decent.. Knut as the days passed the hair was horrible. I have added the video where I'm "balding".. This is what balding looks like.. it's very unprofessional and it can be very traumatizing for someone that has a weak mind to be told you are balding, when it's more than obvious they are not. I think they took advantage of me. Please save your money and time. And don't go to this place for Extentions. My stylist took off the garbage work and told me I lost a lot of hair. 4/21/2022 Appointment for my daughter to get her nails done for prom and the overall experience she had was disappointing. She said while doing her nails the nail tech kept looking at her watch like she was late for something. My daughter noticed that she was rushing and there's some flaws in the nails but ahh a learning experience for her. She also said the nail tech lady didn't even cut her cuticles. In the end the experience she had was disappointing and she said she will never go back and that if she knew she was gonna get customer service like that she would've did her nails herself. $89 for the nails wasn't even worthed. She was filing the sides of my nail so hard that it was hurting (I told her and she said "Oh" then she just kept going... doing it several times). When she applied the gel nail polish, the sides of my nails was bumpy, and not fully covered. In some areas, she applied so much that it was smothered on my skin. She didn't get all the old gel nail polish off either, you can see it through my clear coat gel nail polish. It was the worst experience I have ever had. Last spring I went to Cosmic beauty for highlights to prepare for a military ball. I scheduled for this 2 days before our event. I ended up with straight color that wasn't covering very well and was so uneven. I complained and the owner had me come back the next day and I left with just evened our color this time and still no highlights! I was charged over $200 for this and sat for many hours only to get absolutely no highlights. My hair was damaged, stringy and difficult to brush out since! It's so upsetting and frustrating! This is the first time I've ever been so disappointed with them and I seriously do not plan on going back. Most recently on a Facebook community page a neighbor vented about a similar issue she had and I must say, i don't blame her for venting at all. Got the Groupon deal for classic mani and jelly pedi. The jelly pedi is a jelly soak and not gel polish. It was different and felt nice but not sure if I would pay full price for that service. GREAT SALON. I tried previous hair salons, and I always come back here. The staff members are super personable and they make the experience super great. I love that they stress education for all their hairstylists. It's a place of continually learning and it shows in the amazing hair works that the staff is capable of. The hair products are also better quality here than at other salons I've tried. I do not let anyone touch my hair expect A'me. She knows that she's doing. Her rates currently went up, BUT SHE IS WORTH IT! I've gone from virgin to ashy highlights to platinum blonde in and hair show to a dark mushroom ash brown now. She's been through my color story and really taken care of my hair like it's her own. I cannot imagine anyone else performing at the same level and also putting in that much care. read more
