I've been going to Kimmy for a while. I love the service and I definitely love my cuts. I can never stop complimenting this talented stylist! My friend at work was looking for a me stylist so I referred her to Kimmy without any hesitation. We get jealous when we find out the other is going to an upcoming appointment, because if the pampering to be received. I fully trust Kimmy with my hair! Back again! This time for a more routine trim and touch up. I fully trust Kimmy to cut my hair and her decisions to ensure my cut is amazing. This time we went for slightly shorter bangs and I was completely honest with her that the last time I had bangs I got real lazy towards the second month in and just dried my hair and went. Haha... oops! I've been keeping my hair shorter as I think this is a pretty good look for me however we did discuss I've been wanting to grow out my hair again. Just needed 1-2 inches off this time to even out my edges. Browsing through her other clients pics have been tempting me to get highlights or a balayage. Sooo pretty! read more

My stylist of many years retired, and after my appointment with Kimmy today, I am happy to say that I've found my new stylist! I was lucky to get in on a Saturday morning because Kimmy had a cancellation. If you have flexibility to come in during the week, she can see you sooner. This is an excellent salon and Kimmy is an excellent hairdresser and stylist. We come to the island every year for a month. I have to get my hair done while there each year. This past visit I could not get in at the resort where we were staying so I looked for an alternative and thank goodness I found Kimmy. I had her cut and color my hair. It was my first-time visiting Kimmy and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. 1) communication was easy and smooth- she was friendly and flexible when it came time to making the appointment, 2) she is passionate about her art- she looked at my hair's texture, length, density, and its natural curl before giving me her recommendations, 3) listened to what I wanted- my hair is fairly thick and long. I understand there may be better hairstyles that suit my hair better than others. Kimmy allowed me to express what I wanted and she provided her knowledgeable feedback before we decided the best cut for me- I appreciated that! 4) final look- it was what I wanted and more! She was super easy to get ahold of and helped me schedule my appointment after discussing what I wanted. At the appointment, Kimmy took her time with me and made sure I was comfortable for the whole appointment. She's super nice and doesn't rush you along as I've experienced other places. I came to kimmy to cut my curly hair. I told her I wanted it short but I wasn't sure what would work with my curls. She walked me through everything she planned to do, explained to me what she was doing as she was doing it, and explained to me how to upkeep with my curls as I've never had it like this before. First off, I think I've found myself a new stylist! Kimmy is so amazing and informative. I decided to try it out considering the drive wasn't far and I've been looking for someone to tame this wavy hair madness and she did NOT disappoint. Upon arrival, she warmly greeted me and took my temperature and I filled out a COVID form. After, she asked questions about how I style my hair daily and products I use. After explaining what I wanted, she layed out the entire plan for me so I knew exactly what she was doing and included any recommendations for me as well. During the process, she also advised me on a few products she was using and what they do to my hair. The salon itself was very clean and sanitized upon arrivals and departures of clients. The location is easy to find. I parked at a community park right across the street from the salon. I've never had such quick trust with a hair stylist until I met Kimmy! She's awesome and I can't wait to go back to get my hair colored! Thank you Kimmy for such a welcoming atmosphere & for all the information on different hair products! See you soon! read more

I just got my hair done by Kimmy today, and going to her was one of the best decisions ever!!! OMG where do I even start, she is so sweet, kind, and patient. I texted her that I'd be about 10 minutes late, but she reassured me it was okay and just wanted me to get there safely. She is so knowledgeable about her work and takes her time, making me trust her right away even before meeting her in person! And trust me when I say her hair washing skills are TOP TIER. I felt soooo relaxed after, it was amazing. She is so polite in asking if something looks okay before she proceeds, which will ensure your 110% satisfaction. Kimmy was amazing! My hair is healthier and my scalp is happier after my wash and cut session with her. My haircut looks great and I am so happy with what she's done. Not only that, I told her I wanted to learn more about healthy hair routine and she went over everything with me from products to how to use them and how often. I had not been to a salon in years. I'm sure my hair showed the signs of neglect as well. Kimmy was fantastic! She cut my hair, shampooed it, and styled it. The head massage during shampoo was worth the entire appointment. LOL I felt like the old me when I left and it was all thanks to Kimmy. The best! I honestly can't say enough about how awesome the experience with Kimmy was. My son had been pestering me about getting a perm (K-pop hair) for a while and I feel so lucky to have found Kimmy. First of all, I was about 15 minutes late to the appointment but Kimmy was really understanding. I was a little apprehensive to how my son's hair would turn out since his hair wasn't very long but the end result was better than I hoped. Location easily accessible in Kapolei Cons- my hair was bleached (to remove any remaining box dye) and dyed over. The final color did NOT look any different than my original hair color and I am very disappointed in the time and money spent on it. There is a very subtle difference in direct sunlight but it's barely noticeable. I can chalk that up to me not choosing to go light enough, fine. I was too disappointed by the end result that I didn't notice that the stylist also dyed the right side of my face (about an inch from my hairline to by cheek wide and about 3 inches down in length) and I received a couple chemical burns from the bleach! I now have a patch of hair dye on my face that I am hoping will fade away soon. I didn't notice this until I got home and pulled my hair back behind my ears since it was styled down when I left the salon (covering it). I've tried desperately to cover it with makeup and pull my hair down to try to cover it. My chemical scalp burns I noticed when I ran my fingers through my hair and felt something hard, crusty, and a bit sensitive to touch. This tracks since it was also the part that I felt a strange sensation during the bleaching and I told the stylist that I felt. The color on the majority of my hair after the bleach (not roots) was a lovely brown that I should had just opted for. Instead I was told the color I chose to dye it would be slightly darker than the bleached color which seemed fine. But when my hair was finally finished, I had to hold back tears of disappointment. Overall, they are very nice and sweet but I am beyond sad and disappointed with the end result. I want to go cry some more.

I let Jada know that I needed something to slowly transition me and that I was open to suggestions. I've had jet black hair for quite some time. I was worried it was going to be resistant, but my hair came out better than expected! Jada made me feel welcome. You could tell she takes pride in her trade and her technique. After living here for two years I figured it was time to finally have a local person to deal with…read moremy hair. I scoured yelp and instagram for weeks before deciding to try Luxe Hair by Jada. I easily made an appointment online. She offers great hours, including appointments on Monday (which is typically my only kid-free day). Parking was easy, but the instructions to the studio were key to finding it (it looks like just another condo). Jada was super nice and very thorough. I had about 6 inches cut off so it was definitely a dramatic change. However, I love it! The entire appointment lasted about 100 minutes. I left feeling fabulous! I will definitely be back.

I found Salon Dana on Yelp, I reluctantly made an appointment expecting it would be just like any other appointment I have had elsewhere, but it was not. I met with Dovelen, she was pleasant from the start, She listened to my thoughts about my hair and of course I had no idea of what to do with it. After a few questions she gave my positive feedback and ideas. She then started my service. In the end I completely loved my hair! I haven't felt like that in quite awhile. Strange, the worker mentioned to me while washing hair she had graduated from beauty school. But because of instructions, the hair cutting process was slow. Usually it snip,snip,snip. But Dana would mention what angle and why she was doing it and how she was holding my hair etc. It's kinda like when you go to the market and get a trainee with an instructor the process is slow and you try to avoid that line if possible. Except the trainee was not cutting my hair but watching. But I will say this, the cut was wonderful. I washed my hair and it all falls into place with little or no help. But then I guess that is why this place is on the pricey side.
