Today was my first time visiting this salon, and it definitely won't be my last! I had an appointment with Donna, and from the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed and happy. Donna immediately understood exactly what I wanted and got to work. I desperately needed to cover up my grays and get a trim (it had been almost four months since my last salon visit!), and she did an amazing job. I absolutely LOVE my hair! She is also very fast! My previous salon visits at other places felt so long and exhausting. Not here! The salon also has such a nice touch--they offered me water, coffee, and snacks, which was a lifesaver since I had left the house without my morning coffee. Donna is not only extremely talented but also the sweetest! I felt so comfortable, like I'd known her forever. I was looking for someone experienced in balayage type highlight and coloring. I was referred to O Salon from my lash girl. I met with Donna who was very patient and knowledgeable in explaining my options. She was open and honest but most of all realistic with these options. I was starting with dark brown virgin hair color. I also had the opportunity to get my hair washed by her assistant Daina! Her washes are like a mini spa massage treatment. I was extremely impressed with the outcome. I received many compliments! 8 weeks later I returned for my maintenance tone. My experience was as great as my initial. First time to this salon. Thought I was in the wrong area, passed by it at first and then almost missed it the second time. It's a cute, cozy and nicely A/C salon. Not too cold. The area where your has is washed is much cooler but not extremely cold. Appointments are made with the individual hair stylists. Walk ins maybe squeezed in but no guarantees since it depends on what appointments they already have scheduled. Recommend calling ahead to check, you might have to wait to get a response since they might be with clients. I followed my hair stylist, Kimmy. A change from red highlights that I usually do. Absolutely enjoyed my experience in this fab salon! I came with a friend who had an appointment and Injust went for curiosity. The positive cibe upon entering prompted me to ask if any stylist had time for a root touch up. And Yes, I got lucky! It was pretty quick in an hour. I was also offered water or coffee. During my touch up, we talked about my hair texture and this curl product that she she would put on afterwards for me to try. That really is the best product for textured hair to keep the curl. I just have to say that, if anyone is planning on going lighter (blonde) Donna is you're go to! She did my hair in one session and it turned out amazing!!! My hair was virgin and untouched, but if you have previous work on your hair, just know the process is different and she will explain that to you for the best results as well as the healthiest process for your hair. I did a second session 9 months later cause the color lasted so long with zero brass. My 2nd session was much lighter which I wanted and was still beyond healthy! Sadly Color Box got a new owner who did not run the business well so this lovely salon took on almost all of the extremely talented Color Box stylists. My favorite is here, Taylor Graves. Thankful she reached out to me the night before my appointment at Color Box so I was able to keep my original appointment by driving to O Salon. I found a new home for my hair at O salon!! I feeling myself 1,000% after doing my hair here!! I've had jet black hair all my life and it's to the point where people ask if I dye my hair black and I do not lol I wanted to lighten my hair and try something new with all the new trends and balayage etc and Donna seriously knows how to color hair properly I came in and got amazing assistance from Donna and Dana! I had a momme day, I felt so relaxed pampered and well taken care of! I moved back to the island over ten years ago, and I had the most difficult time finding a hairstylist that could give me the right color blonde highlights that I've been wanting. O Salon is a cute salon hidden in Kapolei where they tailor their time to just a few clients at a time. My favorite is the nice scalp massage when they're washing my hair. I don't like spending $250 in town for color, I'm a rather simpleton when it comes to maintaining my hair. Donna still freshens up my look whenever I can fit in a hair appointment. Hidden gem in Kapolei. Every time I'm back on Oahu to visit, I try to see Kimmy. She recently moved out there from town but it's so worth the drive. I LOVE my haircuts and the balayage color! She also styles it perfectly even time. No one I've seen can get the right ashy grey brown on my hair with zero orange! Kimmy is a sweetheart and always listens to what you want!
