It's pretty hard to like everything on any restaurant menu, but I have eaten about 8 or 10 different meals and they were all good! Twice cooked pork might be one of the best items. It's my go to. The food was good, parking easy, good prices and wait staff pleasant. The atmosphere was non existent. Apparently they transitioned during covid and never went back. 90% of the dining room is now their walled off with cardboard storage area (you can see it through the windows) with a few seats remaining open for "dine in". Carpentersville has a few okay Chinese restaurants, and this is one that's pretty basic but not as bad as it looks to be honest. It was actually a lot better than it seemed like. New China is located in a shopping center close to things like a Wal-Mart. Even so, forget about the image before you try it. The food we got was better than it looks in a few pictures. After placing a to go order, I came. It was pretty empty inside, as in no customers were actually inside. They were only accepting to go orders, so that's why. Basic kind of Chinese American items. We got the Fried Tofu With Vegetables. It's about $10 for the only portion. This is the kind of Chinese place that only has the one portion for tofu items, and it's large enough for two. It wasn't bad for all that honestly, helped because there was a lot. This was kind of greasy but okay. Getting orders from here isn't that bad except for those wanting dining in. My grandparents used to live very close to this place, we used to call in our order and walk over to pick it up, and I miss getting their food! There was always a good amount of food for all of use and we'd end up taking home left overs or leaving them for my grandparents to enjoy - depending on what the dish was. The staff was so nice to us and always seemed excited and happy when we'd call to place an order. Pretty pricey (I mean, the sizes are only large, some small, and each dish costs around 10-14 dollars.) So, I got Princess Shrimp, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein + smoothie w/ tapioca (pina colada is my favorite!) costs around 40 dollars. But enough food to feed almost 5-6 people or so. So if you want enjoy good Chinese takeout and you'll be able to pay, go ahead. PLACE: Nice. Only dined in once and the service isn't bad, you get served hot tea which is my favorite. The dishes are big so enjoy that haha otherwise I usually do takeout when I'm really in the mood for Chinese. Always takes 10 minutes so either you can call ahead or wait a bit at the booths to wait. FOOD: Well, obviously you're not gonna get OH MY GOD BEST CHINESE FOOD. It's good. Good noodles, very tasty. The orange chicken (and I believe most chicken dishes) come with white rice but those two together are fantastic. The orange chicken is so sweet and savory and has such a nice chewy flavorful texture. I love the noodles since you can take a big bite and it has a cooked smoky flavor with the vegetables that take part with it to give crunchiness to the soft noodles. What a waste of time. I've been to this location a few times before for carry-out, and I've been to the old location countless times....no real complaints until today at the new location. Customer service was EXTREMELY HORRIBLE! My boyfriend & I walked in around the lunch hour and decided to eat in...BIG MISTAKE. So the gentleman seats us and asks if we want tea. He comes back with the tea and menus...only problem is WE NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. He along with the 2 other workers we saw were busy stacking the glasses at the bar, taking phone orders and rambling around with cleaning the restaurant. About 12-15 min went by, and two of the gentleman made eye contact with us but never came to take our order. After waiting that long we decided our money would be better spent elsewhere so we politely got up and left. Can't believe we have not been here before!! After living in West Dundee for 10 yrs, we've tried many different chinese restaurants. Our normal TAKE-OUT restaurant choice was closed on Monday, and we craved chinese food. After looking to Yelp, we came upon New China Restaurant. The best meal we've had in our last 10 yrs of living in the area. My wife loved her fried rice, best crab rangoon and egg rolls, and my Empress Chicken was fantastic! It was tough to locate at first, since we had not driven there before. I called the restaurant for directions as I was driving and they called back shortly after to ensure I wasn't lost. I ordered carry-out from this place and I was not overly impressed. My Mongolian Beef was more like teriyaki green pepper. There was very little beef in the dish, but a lot of green pepper. The portion size was relatively small compared to other Chinese restaurants. The egg roll was decent, as was the smallish coffee cup of egg drop soup. New Hunan up the street (which I understand is the same ownership) is a lot better in my opinion. It was worth giving them a try, but I doubt I will be going back any time soon. read more

This is not an authentic Chinese restaurant...it's not even a good Americanized Chinese restaurant (I'd rather go to panda express instead). I ordered their beef with green peppers and tofu with veg. Both dishes pretty much had the same sauce on them with just different things in them. Both dishes were extremely salted and the sauce was overly thick with corn starch. Each piece of vegetable or meat required 2 spoonful of rice to be edible. They didn't have chopsticks at the table so I asked them for some. The waiter brought some out but they tasted extremely strongly of bitter bamboo that I couldn't even use them. Their mango slush was pretty good, though I'd skip the tapioca (it was tasteless and the cold slushy made it hard instead of soft and chewy). read more
