This review is based on the vegetarian items, as I was the only vegetarian in a group of five. We started with the Lahori fish, seekh kabob, samosa chaat, and paneer bites. The group found the seekh kabobs dry and bland but enjoyed the other appetizers. The paneer bites were enjoyed, crispy on the outside and soft inside , while the samosa chaat was basic but small portion. For the main course, we ordered chicken, goat, and the Moti Mehal Paneer Karahi at a medium spice level. The goat was the group's favorite. Although the paneer karahi looked good, it was oily and lacked flavor. We also ordered two family-sized garlic naans, which were on the harder side. Third time was the charm for me at Karahi Boys. I recently went for a group iftar during Ramadan and their Ramadan buffet really exceeded expectations. There was a lot of variety and plenty of meat options including a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Even the chai was really good and I'm not usually a chai person. For the price, the buffet was easily the best value out of my three visits and honestly one of the better Ramadan iftar buffets I've had in Dallas. I'd definitely recommend going during Ramadan. They also had a "Ramadan Mubarak" balloon banner up which gave the space a festive touch. On my second visit, we ordered the KBoys Chicken Karahi, Beef Bihari Boti, their giant family-sized naan, and mango mojito mocktails. Everything was good, and the naan is fun, it's large and looks great when it comes to the table. On my first visit, we tried the Charsi Chicken Karahi and the Namak Mandi Goat. The Charsi chicken was good but didn't stand out as anything amazing. I liked the Namak Mandi goat a lot more. Since I eat spicy, I asked for chaat masala and they brought out what they said was their house-made masala to sprinkle on top, which made it really delicious. One thing to note: many of the menu items are on the higher side price-wise, so be prepared for a bigger bill depending on what you order. The Ramadan buffet, however, is a good value for all that it included. Overall, I'd say the Ramadan buffet is the standout experience, so if you're planning to try Karahi Boys, that's the time to go. read more

Given all the mixed reviews we waited a substantial amount of time before trying this place, as it takes restaurants in Dallas a bit to get the hang of things. We came in at 2 PM on a Sunday and about a third of the tables are taken, we were here for a birthday event and they had the entire section beautifully decorated and organized ahead of schedule. We were able to try a number of their karahis, their white biryani, their mixed grill, and their mango lassi. All were full of robust flavor and their naans were cooked to perfection. Were the karahis finger licking good? Not this time but perhaps if we ask for spicier next time around it may do the trick? Gosht I enjoyed better than the chicken but I'm glad I ordered both. Karahi Boys is an awesome place to eat. The place is beautiful with great decor that creates a nice and welcoming atmosphere. The food is delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Our server was busy, but he still did his best to help us and made sure we were taken care of, which I really appreciated. That kind of effort goes a long way. The only downside is that the prices are a little high for the portion sizes, which felt a bit small. Karhai Boys is the new challenger to jump into the growing ring of Pakistani restaurant Battle Royale in DFWurbia. The first thing that sticks out is that this is a nice restaurant. Like they actually spent money by hiring a design professional or someone competent did this decor. This is not something I expect from. Pakistani establishment. Points! Service, while not perfect, they are definitely trying. The first time I went there which was the week of opening the restaurant was bursting and they had a ton of staff. Two weeks later it was not as full (weekday) but they had sufficient staff on hand which is nice. The staff is generally polite and available but they are clearly still working out the kinks with training etc as there were small issues which are issues if you're running a higher class eatery which I believe this is striving ro be. Food, the main event. So been here twice now. If I go off my first visit this would be a 5 star. Second visit, not quite the same. First, a lesson learned, spice level 3 is pretty mild. I think most Pakistani folks should stick to 4 or 5. Kboy Karhai is solid. I also liked the Chitti Chicken Karhai. Fave app is Lahori fish. Charsi is ho hum. They also have bbq but i dont really come here for that. It is kinda pricey, especially the goat dishes. So generally speaking, it's nice to see a really upscale Pakistani place. Tried this place out last weekend with a friend and we had a great dinner! I had never tried Karahi dishes before and I'm glad I did bc they're so flavorful and delicious! We got the Patakha chicken appetizer which was fried tandoori chicken bites with a chutney type sauce. Yum but nothing to write home about. My friend and I shared entrees and we got the charsi goat karahi and the palak paneer. We also got the family sized naan that came skewered on a large spit which was pretty cool The goat and paneer dishes were delicious and full of flavor. We didn't know what the spice levels were realistically like since various places have different definitions of spicy. Out of 5 levels, we got a 4 for the goat and a 3 for the paneer. Neither were spicy. Really would have liked the level 4 to be a lot more spicier if the highest level is 5. The family sized naan was also rather dry and not very fluffy. I have had better naan at other places. We ended the night with masala chai teas for each of us and they were delicious. I love a good masala chai! Overall I felt the flavors for the entrees was phenomenal but there were a few things lacking like the spice levels and the naan being somewhat dry. The Karahi Chicken (1/2 order) was spicy and enough for a group of 4 with the other dishes. Family naan has an elegant display. Service overall was good, food came out quickly, but the owner came by and checked on us a few times. Felt a bit odd when he was asking us to try dishes. Not the same as Canada locations. We were super excited and ordered the full trays of 2 types of karahi and the chicken seekh kabobs along with about 10 naan. Order was prepared in a timely manner, the restaurant was also beautifully decorated but when we got home and ate it we were disappointed. The naan was dry and hard and both the Karahi's were not made correctly. One was supposed to be boneless and it was not and one was supposed to be spicy and it was not. Neither was labeled so we couldn't really tell which one was which. We will try again eating in the restaurant and hope that it's better. read more

Visited Karahi Boys in Frisco in late May with a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. We ordered the Gosht Khor platter, K-Boy Chicken Karahi, Charsi Goat Karahi, family naan (plain and garlic), and the K-Boys Thali. The Chicken Karahi was the standout dish and was quite good. The Goat Karahi was okay, while the Gosht Khor platter was disappointing. The naan was presented nicely and tasted good. Overall, the food was mediocre and not memorable enough to justify a return visit. The bigger issue was the service. Our waiter took our order and delivered the food, but that was essentially the extent of the service. No one checked on our table throughout the meal to see if we needed anything. When we needed to-go boxes, I had to flag someone down. At the end of the meal, we eventually got up and requested the bill ourselves on the way out. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity of $28.34 (18%) was added for our party. Given the level of service we received, I would not have left a tip of 18%. It felt like the staff knew they would be paid handsomely regardless, which removed any incentive to provide attentive service. While the food was average, the combination of poor service and mandatory large-party gratuity means I would not return or recommend this restaurant. read more

So, where do I began, very humble people who want to elevate the culture of Pakistani food by supporting them with false information. By the way I love the restaurants cleanliness, ambiance is nice, but the staff are not to attentive, one of them drove their dirty dish wagon on my 8 month old sons high chair, Now granted we all love a supportive community and a supportive review, but in the line of business I'am in unfortunately business is business, Lets begin with the wait, now when I had called in and asked to make a reservation i wasn't given the option of same day very understandable since it is going through a soft opening my next question was if there is a wait time i was told if you come now there isn't a wait time which I placed my call around 4:45. So i get there later towards 5:20 and wanted to sit down but i was given a 10 minute wait time estimate but didn't wait that long waited longer, anywho lets get down to the food, so we ordered the infamous/famour Karahi Boys Chicken Karahi half with desi gee add on to elevate the taste and ask for spice level 5 and 5 being the hottest they can offer. Now all Karachi folks will admit this, when you order a spicy Karahi it's supposed to be spicy not mild and also Karahi Chicken comes with chilis as well I guess the spice level was brought down for customers safety kool but not kool. Karahi is supposed to be something that you just lick your fingers after your done not regret your visit while you take in your second bite, we ordered our food all together which the second item was Ghost Khoor platter, meat, chicken mixture platter, sounds great on paper but tremendously disappointing, too salty, no flavor, no spices, i felt like as if I was eating my 8 month kids baby food with nothing. The wonderful thing about this was how pricey the food was for such little to nothing disappointing culture food. Now when it comes to real Karahi we all know what real Karahi is, what real kebabs is. Oh fun part of my experience they asked how was the food and we did share how it wasn't spicy how we waited longer for our platter and the Karahi got cold while we waited for it and umm they couldn't bother. Thanks Karahi boys for taking horrible Pakistani restaurants off the list. Dallas and its wonderful peeps I hope we find the true food I'd go nuts to post about. The food was very good but this place is only good for once or twice a year visit. Only giving more than 3 stars because of taste and service. Service alone is MUCH better than Colachi. Karahi boys is definitely the place to go if you want great, authentic Pakistani cuisine. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and were taken back by the upscale atmosphere of this beautiful restaurant, with warm, copper touches. The food was on another level though. We ordered the Lahori fried fish which paired great with the chatani, for appetizers. Next up came the kboys chicken Karahi, makhni boneless Karahi, chicken biryani, and naan. All of which were so flavorful and meat was so tender. We could definitely taste the freshness of the spices. And finally, we topped our meal off with khoya kheer and chai, which were paired great and refreshing. The kheer was not over poweringly sweet, just a great amount of sweetness to complete the meal. Service and presentation were top notch. Food came out quick and hot. Spice level was great, we stayed on the liberal side to taste the flavors, kept it at a level 3 spice and that did not disappoint. This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences of my life, especially for a so-called fancy restaurant. We were served literally frozen biryani. The meat was cold and frozen inside. For one naan alone, it took over 20 minutes, and even that only happened after we had to remind them otherwise, they completely forgot about it.our Biryani which is the insult of biryani came after 40 mins after several reminders The lady assigned to our table was polite and did her best, and the owner himself was apologetic, which I appreciate. However, his son has zero hospitality skills and is clearly in the wrong business. Hospitality is not optional in the restaurant industry it's the foundation. Another serious issue: capacity management. If you cannot handle a large crowd, you should not operate at that scale until you are fully equipped and trained. Just stumbled upon this place while searching for a dinner spot. The restaurant is gorgeous, a calm romantic atmosphere. Service was quick. Friendly staff. The menu isn't very big but everything we had was excellent. We had lamb curry (can't remember what it's called on the menu). Tender and very flavorful.
