Food was delicious, we visited as a party of two. Very family business vibes as they had a few kids behind the front counter. You order at the counter and they bring to the table. Bathroom was clean and out of toilet paper but as soon as I let him know, it was refilled ASAP. It was a little hot inside, they had an oscillating fan going. I went to thank Shein for me finding and trying this place. I was dropping off an Shein return at UPS and decided to walk to the Kroger next door. I ended up walking by and saw the picture dishes on the window. I walked by and told myself I will come back another day. But as I came back around from Kroger I decided to just go in. I ordered the tandoori chicken and two garlic naans. It was absolutely amazing. The spice level was just perfect. My husband stated the garlic naan from this restaurant was his favorite. We ended up freezing it to eat with other dishes. Recently I had the uncontrollable urge to have tandoori again. So, I went and reordered the same from my first time. I went to Kroger and bought tzatziki, Cucumber and tomato. I went home and pulled the chicken off the bone and squirted the lemon on the chicken and slathered the tzatziki with sliced cucumbers and salt and pepper on the tomato. Put it all on a pita and satisfied my craving. I swear this will be my go-to restaurant. I know my craving was not the traditional way of eating, but it just hit the spot perfectly for me. Was super excited to try their lamb pilau special they offer on Fridays, but what a disappointment. The lamb was super tough and the container was drowning in rice. I walked in just after I had ordered by phone, so I sat and waited in the empty restaurant for my food. For Pakistani/Indian food, I was expected aromas to be wafting from the kitchen, but there was nothing. It was as though I was at a CVS or something, not a restaurant! I was also overcharged as their online price show $13 for the dish, but I was charged over $17. I didn't notice until after I left. If this is how awful a 'special' dish is, I can't imagine the rest. I was driving through the area shopping center and saw the sign for Famous Tandoori. I decide to give it a try and see what it's like. I was so pleased that I did. This is a family business, and they are so kind and considerate. They had a lovely menu and answered questions, making recommendations. I ordered the Lunch: Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan, and the Beef Samosa. The food was fabulous and huge portions (really could have shared with one other person), and the Chai Tea was perfect. The restaurant is small but clean--lots of takeout traffic. I would highly recommend this family-run restaurant to everyone. I will be going back soon to try some other dishes. read more

Alright, Frisco Family, Famous Tandoori is the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in Frisco over the past four years. The Lamb Tandoori and Palak Paneer were phenomenal. Spice level was on point. Portion to price ratio is reasonable for Frisco. Garlic Naan is delicious but Roti fell a little short. You have to ask for water since they get it from the back so that's inconvenient. He answered all of my questions and was friendly. 20 mins or so later, I went and picked up my order. Once again, very friendly. I made it home and cracked open the chicken 65 and some garlic Naan. The white rice could also use some work as it seems very plain. The inside of the restaurant had a bad odor and the order took twice as long as they said it would.
