Came for the brunch, which was surprisingly well priced. All the food was incredibly clean and didn't leave you feeling too heavy or greasy afterwards. I liked that they brought the paya in individual bowls to your table. The chai was fantastic as well. Service was a bit lacking. They were late setting up brunch and the waitress dropped a dirty napkin in my lap while she was clumsily cleaning our table. We also had to ask for some items several times before they were brought to our table. My friend asked for a side of onions and wasn't told there would be an additional charge on the bill for those. read more

Okay let's be real. This place is far too overhyped to be honest. We drove in from the city just to try the chicken karhi and were left feeling unsatisfied for sure. I left my meal completely. The taste of the actual karhi (wok) and it being worn out is saturated into the actual karhi chicken (wok chicken). Unfortunately I was left with a metal taste in my mouth upon the four bites that I took. Not good for your health. The naan were fresh, and the beef samosa were good.. The service was terrible. There are currently three women working the front and not a single one remembers anything we ask for. Not to mention one spit on our silverware and saw the spit on it and yet still managed to put it on the table. Like. Um. No, THANK YOU! Slightly lively ambiance with locals. Okay. First time at a Pakistani restaurant. Tried the Lamb Briyani. Tried the lemonade Soda. Both were neither bad nor spectacular. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. Service during what seems a quiet time was okay. I was checked on once during my meal. I think the colors of the restaurant during evening is dark. Perhaps candlelight can be added to give it some brightness. read more

Speechless...we didn't even get a chance to take pictures as the food was callings us to try it with it fragrant spices, we ordered the lamb chops, the white chicken karahi, garlic naan and rice. The food was to die for, oir first tome trying Pakistanian food, but it will definitely notbe oir last. The service was great, I have to say that here in Canada all the service has been amazing. My husband really enjoyed the food, but I'm not a big fan of spicy food, so it was just okay for me. The food was really flavourful though, and I probably would have liked it better if it the spiciness level was kicked down a notch. The manager was friendly and kept checking in on how we were doing. One thing though, they didn't honour the discount coupon I got from Yelp. I'm not sure how those things work, but I'm pretty sure establishments should know of any promotions they offer and train their servers so they don't just flat-out say no to a customer. I went there because native Pakistan people living here recommended this place. It is perfect and casual place for sharing plates while enjoying brilliant food. I don't usually enjoy lamb, but this one.. Lamb Karahi Peshawar is the best lamb I've ever eaten!! Soft, tender, cook to perfection, no lamb smell at all! It made me want to eat more.. Yummy! I went there 2 times in a week, and the 2nd time, I tried their sauces, yogurt one (Raita) and spicy sauce. Super good!! The server, Shadab, she's brilliant! Really good Pakistani place. Not too many places with this type of food around. Parking is available on Victoria, as well as the side streets. The inside is quite plain, and looked a bit beaten up. Not sure why they skipped a wall when painting the interior black. Staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints. Friends and I weren't sure what to try. The staff recommended their karahi (signature dish). We tried both their chicken and lamb. FYI a karahi is the deep style wok the food is cooked in. When the food arrived, we weren't sure if it would be enough to feed the 4 of us. However, the food was surprisingly filling. All of us left happy. I'm not sure if the staff chose the sauces for us, but the chicken dish was made with more tomato, while the lamb dish was made with more black pepper. Both were very tasty. As for drinks, this place does not serve alcohol. Some of their drinks did look like bottled beer, but no, it's not beer. Barbican is non alcoholic. Same as before there's a mat on the floor going to their kitchen from the entrance,personally this is safety issue because not only me but 3 other clients almost trip.. Previous restaurant's problem is thesame also the floor like before is slippery..same condition up to present. Serves authentic Pakistani/Indian and middle Eastern cuisine,excellent service and really very good food. We ordered Butter chicken with naan-super delish we dipped the warm naan into the chicken sauce and holy moly flavors is very rich We had the chicken biryani balanced with spices and meat and rice were cooked perfectly. Came here for dinner with a couple of friends. When we were seated one friend was complaining about how slippery (oily) the floor was under our table. We were sat at a booth by the window, the window sill was not very clean, had some debris (food) and stuff on it as did the floor. They do not serve alcohol here so we had water. It came luke warm. I ordered the lamb curry, it was very tender and nicely seasoned but not spicy at all. (The server never asked for spice level). Didn't really pay attention to what my friends ordered. The service was ok. When you are done you pay at the front counter which is kinda weird since they have table service. Overall, it was not bad, the food and service was ok, the place is a bit rundown and could be a bit cleaner. I believe there is a small parking lot in the back but not sure. Oh my! I love middle eastern food and this was probably one of the best experiences! It was my first time having Pakistani food and, boy, was I so satisfied that I went back again for the 2nd time. We are already planning to go back next month for more Pakistani food! The restaurant is located on the corner of Victoria and 54th. There are free sidewalk parking on 54th. The service was friendly. Here are comments for the food that stood out (good or bad): - my absolute favorite was (insert meat) karahi. We've had the goat and lamb and both times I was in love with the dish! My suggestion would be to get a naan for this dish as you can soak the naan in the amazing sauce! I absolutely love that sauce! - chicken wings were also very yummy and they come with grilled vegetables. - lamb chop and chicken liver were also good. - I didn't like the lamb shikaki as much. I found it a bit dry and chewy. Note that all dishes (not sure about appetizers) come with either naan or rice! Even the chicken wings and chicken liver that we ordered! First time ordering from the restaurant, my comments are salty food and unclear ordering process. I went there to order take out for Mother's Day and there was a line of three people at the door. There was a bell on the table inside the door, but there was no clear indication of where to wait to order. I asked the person at the end of the line and stood 6 feet behind him. No staff came out for another 10 minutes, during this time another couple came and lined up behind me. After the couple waited for a while (probably another 5 minutes), they went up and rung the bell. A server came out and took their order. At this point, the person ahead of me and myself had to disregard the distancing and went into the restaurant to let the server know that we had been waiting for a long time before the couple came. It was only then that the server took our order. Originally I was going to order the lamb lahori, but since the server said that dish would take longer, I decided to order the lamb curry and lamb bhuna with naan. The server informed me it would take about 15 minutes, I waited outside and kept checking since it wasn't clear whether my name would be called when the order is ready. The order was ready after 20 minutes. After I took the food home, the first impression wasn't very good as I smelt something was burnt. It was the naan, but it was still edible after I removed the burnt bits. The two lamb dishes were tasty, the bhuna was too spicy for my mom and both dishes were a little too salty. But the biggest problem was we were both very thirsty after the meal, I needed to drink throughout the night. This seems to indicate that there might be MSG in the food. One star off for the ordering process and one star off for the food and so I gave this restaurant a three star. read more

My vegetarian nephew is visiting so we tried it Great Pakoras and a spinach paneer were highlights. Adil was a gracious and attentive host and the service was good. Today after work I am so hungry and tired and in mood of going home and cooking something. So I googled for Halal Restaurant in Vancouver. I found Karakoram during my search. So right after work I went there. I ordered Beef Bhuna and Karahi with Naans. I was with couple of my friends. I have been going and trying different south Asian Restaurants but I have to say that I never had such a tasty food before. Reminded me of back home. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. They followed all Covid-19 guidelines. I would highly recommend this place. Next time I will be bring all my office colleagues. Foods good however be sure to check your takeout order for accuracy before leaving because on a few occasions they didn't put the rice in there. If you order the goat, it comes spicy. Personally, I love it however some people in the household think it's too spicy. Their butter chicken decent. With this I typically ask the to add the spice. Overall, the food is of high quality, service can step it up a bit. Like, don't tell me my takeout order will be ready in 15 minutes and I show in in 15 and have to wait 15-20 minutes. In this case. I'm really hoping to warn others because this was by far the worst food I've ever eaten in the city of Vancouver!! We asked for a mild butter chicken and got something that at best would be described medium, but it was so spicy I wasn't able to eat it at all . The rice in the biryani was dry There was just one big chunk of bony chicken in the middle of it instead of it being something that we could actually eat and spoon out. But the worst beyond anything was the mojito that they served, which without a doubt and without over exaggerating, smelt like toilet water and tasted like sewage. And yet they were charging $11 for it. I have never been so disgusted and needless to say, despite only a few bites of the buttered chicken and the rice I was on the toilet for hours with diarrhea afterwards. Tried the lamb karahi lahori last night, the meat was smelly and not at at well cooked, for the price it was not worth at all.

We came to try out their food all the way from Seattle and we loved it. We ordered chicken karahi and daal mash and they were delicious. Everything was cooked fresh and to perfection. Just stoped for a quick lunch. shawarma plate, might be the worst I have ever had. Love Middle Eastern cuisine for all its flavour. I being generous when I say chicken in shawarma tasted like it had been boiled in chicken stock. Player had rice, some wilted salad and humus. Next to no tzatziki sauce, no tabouli. When I asked if I could have some Pita, was simply told it does come with it. Any place I have ever had this dish it has always included tzatziki sauce, tabouli for $15 I certainly expected more. I used to go to Karakoram quite a bit when they first opened a few years ago, food was great, they had fairly high priced options and reasonably priced food. If I was watching my budget would order the the chicken shawarma platter but often got the more expensive options. I did not go much again until last year, I again ordered the chicken shawarma, it was not fresh and when I was finished the server asked me how it was, I said it was okay and she looked surprised. Now I just ordered in the Lamb Curry, Rice, Mint Chutney and Butter Naan. I usually get two meals out of an order like this which costs $30 incl tip but I only could get one. The Lamb was not spicy at all, lots of bones, the Mint Chutney was not sweet, tasted bad, and looked old, the rice was great and the naan was barely okay. I guess they reserve the good tasting food for people who are willing to spend $30 for the Lamb Karahi, I won't be going back. read more
