This restaurant needs lots of improvement I should have left the minute I walked in I don't know why I didn't I guess I was hungry Between the screaming children and my hunger pains I stayed I had their teeny tiny little Buffet here's what it's got going for it it comes with a chai tea and it's really cheap only $8.99 There's literally nothing on their Buffet you get some very mildly spiced chickpeas there is some lightly Curry potatoes and you get halwa . It comes with onions thick yogurt that's sitting in the sun and your tea you also get bread with it The bread came out beautiful but absolutely so greasy I could not eat the whole thing As for service there is none and they ask you for a tip I didn't give a tip cuz that's stupid when I have to do everything myself the Ambiance it's old it's dated and it's gross looking is it a meal yeah I guess so All three items that were on the buffet that were supposed to be hot or barely room temperature the buffets look like they were broken apart not a great day would I come back ... no I would not come back very disappointed I would give this a three out of 10 read more

Food was out of the world. Everything we ordered was on point. Service style is not very appealing, but the food delivery was quick. Ambience is also very quick service style although I would prefer table service for that kinda food. Pricing is good. Simple, yet awesome Sunday brunch buffet! There are only 4 items, cholay, aloo, keema, and halwa, but they are all mighty tasty eaten with the puri that is continuously brought to your table. Finish it off with a cup of chai, or be like wifey, who drinks one cup before the meal, one during, and then one after, for the road. Oh, and the people who work there are totally friendly. Staff were helpful and friendly. You go to the counter to order your food and seat yourself with a number. They will bring the food and drinks to you. I had their butter chicken with naan bread. The naan bread is huge and extremely tasty and the right amount of crunch. The butter chicken is flavourful and delicious. * Unlikely combination * Ok, I have to say this is the first time I've been in a Pakistani restaurant that also serves a wide selection of donair and souvlaki and fish and chips. But we skipped right over the distractions and focused on the more South Asian offerings. This fast food counter is tucked away in the back of the Gulberg market. If you feel like you are in the wrong place, just follow the signs to the washroom down the corridor, and around the corner and you will surface into the restaurant area which was really hidden away if you come in through the market. (Apparently there is another door so you can enter directly - but somehow we didn't find that when we arrived.) I had the beef nihari. The beef was incredibly tender, and came bathed in rich complex spiced sauce. There were no shanks, which was a bit different than what I've had before. So no marrow to suck out of the bones, but delicious nonetheless. It was garnished with a generous amount of fresh ginger slices and coriander. Lovely dish. And a steal at $5.99. The naan was in the most perfect round circle I've ever seen (as if it had been baked in a pizza tray or something!). It was freshly made (we could see the large dough mixer running to make the next batch), and came piping hot. It was the fluffier style, but very tasty. It soaked up the nihari sauce perfectly. Also got to try the channa curry, which had a slightly different flavour profile than I have had before - with more cinnamon overtones. It was also quite delicious, and a total steal at $3.99 for a generous portion. Overall this little fast food counter has some really nice offerings, really friendly service, and is a great find. Schizophrenia is running rampant at this Pakistani hole in the wall. The fact that the menu has some traditional Pakistani dishes like Nihari, but also India staples like Butter Chicken is not surprising, but Donair and Hummus - Really Gulberg? Really? We settled for the less adventurous Nihari and Biryani. The Chicken Biryani was very ordinary and somewhat greasy. The chicken was tough and smelly. The beef Nihari was much more flavourful. The nans were of larger (somewhat tougher) Pakistani style, nevertheless good. Not sure if I will head back here anytime in the future. read more

Terrible, i always see people returning the food when they are dining in. They really need to fire the head chef and try someone new. Look at their pizza slices and all their indian/paki dishes at the front - they look awful and always full as no one buys it. They should read their bad reviews and do something about it. If you're expecting some fancy place, forget it - it's basically a "cafeteria" catering to the students and staff of Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the Muslim community. Went there on Saturday nite for dinner while visiting Vancouver. The food was average and service could improve. Most striking thing was the lack of cleanliness. Tables chairs were dirty and cutlery was not properly washed(got plastic spoons instead). We ordered the Brbq Mix plate and Biryani. Both were average in taste and the biryani had a hair. Stopped by on the way back south across the border looking for some quick, inexpensive curry in Surrey. The three of us shared the chicken biryani, channa currey, and "butter chicken." All were satisfied with both flavor and quantity and so inexpensive. Sure the atmosphere is absolutely hole-in-the-wall and I had to pull small bits of chicken bone from the biryani, but otherwise fantastic. Another bonus is that you can pop next door to the market to pick up ingredients for your home-made attempts between visits. read more

Stand-out items are their naan, seekh kabab, Chicken Tikka, Nihari, and their fried chicken. There is no better place in the Vancouver area. I've been going to this restaurant for over a decade. The most consistent tasting food I have ever eaten. If I had to select a signature dish it would be their butter chicken. The best part of the restaurant asides from the quality of the food is the speed of delivery. People often forget how fast this food is prepared. The best better chicken I have ever eaten is from this establishment. Another personal favourite I would recommend is the beef donair. Since I have been visiting this restaurant, they have added fast-food (fried chicken, mojos) and pizza. Recently, they added indian sweets to the menu. We stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to Seattle from Vancouver, BC. Yelp had good reviews so decided to try it out. It is a little difficult to find since you have to navigate your way through a grocery market. However, once you are there, you will be pleasently surprised with awesome food, very reasonable pricing, and really nice servers. We went here on a Sunday, and Halwa puri (typical Pakistani brunch) was being served in a buffett. We placed an order to go, and the server gave us tons of hulwa puri, choley, potatoe curry, and keema ( ground beef) - she said if we had sat down to eat, it would've been as much as we could eat buffett. The chicken was severely disappointing, charred on the outside but very raw and pink on the inside. I could not eat it without considering some sort of salmonella or other illness as a result.
