After narrowing it down based on ratings, number of reviews, review quality, office size, and hours, I was left with three options. I chose Orchard, and I made the right choice. This place has great ratings, which is pretty rare for medical offices for some reason unless it's a new Yelp page or one that people just haven't bothered reviewing. It's kind of like how fast-food restaurants and clubs always seem to have low ratings for some reason. Anyway, the reviews here are great too. If there are any bad reviews, you kind of have to use your judgment to figure out whether it's a one-off situation or just an unreasonable customer. This isn't one of those huge offices with a bunch of chairs lined up like the DMV, where they're just churning patients through like an assembly line. I hate those places because they always overbook, and I end up waiting forever for an appointment. Even when I show up on time, I still have to wait a long time before being seen. I work late on weekdays and can't really take time off during the day. On weekends, I usually catch up on sleep and don't want to spend my day off running errands. They're not always available on Tuesdays either, which can mean an even longer wait for appointments. That's why the fact that they're open until 7 PM on Tuesdays is a huge plus for me. As you can tell from the pictures, the office is very clean, modern, and well-equipped. The staff has always been friendly, and they've been very understanding about my tardiness and occasional cancellations to the point where I feel like they should hate me, but they definitely don't act like it. They also seem to have the latest and greatest equipment... I think. I'm mostly judging that based on how much more advanced their machines looked compared to every other dental office I've been to. Overall, this place is great.

I have been overdue for a cleaning because I haven't been impressed with my last couple dentists. So I found Vino Smiles through my insurance then decided to schedule after liking what I saw online. This was my first visit with Vino Smiles and wow, what a wonderful office. Dr. Chris is so nice, thorough, and transparent. Paulina did my cleaning and Sandra did my X-rays, both were lovely; and Paulina is a fantastic hygienist, who explained her findings as she was going. Paulina and I chatted about our love of hiking and skiing/snowboarding, and Dr. Chris and I found common ground with working out and our history in EMS -- it was refreshing to have dental providers who want to know about YOU and the staff here were people I'd actually want to hang out with more than once every 6 months for a dental cleaning! Additionally, the office is beautiful (makes a great first impression!) and the subtle attention to detail really goes a long way -- they have refreshments in the lobby and comfy sofas, they give a tour of the office to new patients, put your name on the screen in your patient room, and have TVs on the ceiling for during your cleaning. They even have a separate private pediatric cleaning room with super cute artwork for kiddos. I don't mind dental visits at all, but it's just one of those things to do every 6 months. But this office... I'm actually looking forward to my next cleaning!

If you're someone who has dental anxiety, or you've put off going to the dentist for years because…read moreyou're scared, embarrassed, or worried about being judged, this review is for you. I had excellent dental care growing up until I was about 14, but I also had a traumatic experience as a child when I flipped over my bike, knocked several teeth out, and had to be strapped into a chair while a dentist worked on them. That experience stayed with me. After my parents divorced, going to the dentist stopped being a priority, and despite brushing my teeth every day, I avoided dental visits for years. Eventually, I started having tooth pain and assumed I had one bad tooth. It turned out I needed two root canals and multiple fillings. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. One of the biggest fears about returning to the dentist after a long time is the feeling that you'll be judged. Dr. French completely erased that fear. She has been nothing but kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring from day one. She's the type of person who instantly makes you feel comfortable, and honestly, she's just an incredibly cool person. The hygienists and the rest of the staff are just as wonderful. Every single person in the office is warm, welcoming, and makes you feel like they genuinely care about you. The office itself is beautiful and has such a calming atmosphere. Then there's the fear of pain. I can honestly say I experienced virtually none. Dr. French referred me to Dr. Baines at San Jose Endodontics for my root canals, and I couldn't have asked for a better referral. Both root canals were completely painless. They prescribed ibuprofen afterward, and I never even needed it. Back at Willow Glen Dental, I was also genuinely impressed by how much they've invested in technology. It's not just a beautiful office--it feels like they've made a real commitment to giving patients the best experience possible. After my root canals, they digitally scanned my teeth, designed my crowns, and milled them right there in the office. I took about an hour to an hour-and-a-half break, came back, and had both permanent crowns placed that same day. No temporary crowns. No waiting weeks. As someone who hadn't been to the dentist in years, I had no idea dentistry had come this far, and it made the entire process incredibly convenient. The same was true for my fillings and every other procedure I've had. Throughout every appointment, the team made sure I was comfortable, answered every question, and never rushed me. Yesterday I finished the restorative portion of my treatment plan after about a year and a half of care. Dr. French joked, "Last round!" and then laughed that I was probably tired of seeing them. I surprised myself with my response: "Honestly... I used to have really bad dental anxiety, and now I don't." And I truly meant it. That's one of the greatest gifts this office has given me. They didn't just fix my teeth--they completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. I never thought I'd be someone who could walk into a dental appointment feeling relaxed, but that's exactly how I feel now. I've already recommended Willow Glen Dental and Dr. French to several friends, and I'll continue recommending them to anyone who asks. (Just don't book Dr. French too solid--I still need my appointments! ) As long as I live in the Bay Area, this is where I'll be coming for my dental care. Dr. French is nothing short of amazing. I don't know what kind of magic she works, but she's incredible. Thank you, Dr. French, Dr. Baines, and the entire Willow Glen Dental team for giving me back not only my smile, but my confidence and peace of mind. 10/10. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

It's taken me a few years to be ready to write this, because the experience was so traumatic…read more Dr. Miller said I needed a filling on my last molar, bottom right. While filling, he applied so much pressure my jaw joint was wrenched. Afterwards at home, I had so much pain I went in to be checked. After a cursory check, I was prescribed an NSAID. The pain didn't go away - in my jaw joint, as well as the tooth and jawbone under the tooth. I called back, was prescribed more NSAID. Went back again, and Dr. Miller told me there was nothing wrong. With so much pain, went in again, and when I mentioned I saw a sign outside mentioning a TMJ specialist, and perhaps I should see that person, he said the TMJ specialist was himself. Looked pissed. More NSAIDs prescribed. This is a summary of several weeks - nearly 2 months of pain. Finally I went to another dentist. When told of my jaw pain, she used a bite wedge to protect my jaw joint during procedures. She immediately noted an infection deep in the pocket where the filling had been done. She prescribed a medication to flush the pocket. After no improvement she sent me to a specialist endodontist. The endodontist found the tooth had been cracked during the filling, and the bone infected. Also, she noted that the filling was UNDER my gumline, and stated that dentists are not supposed to work under the gumline. The tooth had to be extracted - as someone with lifelong excellent oral hygiene and good teeth, I cried - the infected bone scraped away, and a bone graft. I took the tooth home - see pic and note where the filling is. Randolph Miller took no responsibility. He & staff ghosted me when I brought this up in emails (lawyer said because they already knew that they were liable at that point). I went in to ask the perpetually grumpy receptionist for my dental records, and when I got home, I saw that ALL NOTES regarding the procedure in question were GONE. No joke. Jaw; thank goodness I had Kaiser. I saw a specialist and was prescribed physical therapy - and was again told that dentists use a bite wedge to protect the jaw. Dr. Miller never did; odd for a TMJ specialist. I called a dental malpractice attorney, who said it was a case worth pursuing, no payment to him until I was awarded damages payment. This was during Covid. Family members died. I had no bandwidth to pursue this case. I was demoralized, traumatized and in grief - and had to focus on taking care of my family and moving on. I wonder how many dentists get away with bad behavior because victims just don't have the bandwidth. Before this experience, I was fine with Dr. Miller. Of course we're fine when there is no big problem. Well, people show you who they really are when they're under pressure. Dr. Miller never reached out to proactively make things right - each contact during my weeks of pain was made by me, with the exception of his wife, Dr. Loreaux, who did reach out once. Seeing how Dr. Miller handled things (or really, didn't) when an unexpected problem arose spoke volumes regarding his character. He could have listened more, ***BELIEVED ME*** when I told him for weeks that something was wrong, investigated thoroughly. Maybe the tooth could've been saved. Maybe 2 months of pain could've been a week or two. Instead, he brusquely brushed me off, offended that I questioned his work, and stopped contact. What a coward.

My first experience here I got a teeth cleaning and some X rays. I was told that I needed to fill one cavity and that my gums were inflamed and i needed a special medication for it. I was a little shocked as I have very good oral hygiene and I had my last cleaning 4 months ago and just moved so i needed a new dentist. I hesitantly agreed and got what the dentist Dr. Chitra recommended. I payed for the medication and got my cavity filled. My next visit was just a cleaning and I was told a had six cavities that now needed to be filled. I was unable to get X-rays because it was only 6 months since my last one.. I asked how she knew i needed those fillings if X-rays weren't done and she showed me with photos. I wanted to hold off because again, this was very out of the norm for me. Dr. Chitra also informed me that i bleed too much during my cleaning and needed a special mouthwash to take home so i wouldn't get an infection. She charged me $20 for it and when i got home and googled it, I found out it was a scam. My most recent visit which was today ended in Dr. Chitra refusing to do my cleaning. She again informed me that I had cavities to fill and when i requested an Xray and informed her insurance would now pay for it she said " you can't see these cavities with an Xray" "there is no point is doing your cleaning if you have cavities" I told her i did not feel comfortable having her fill those cavities if I could no see them and she said it was best to have her discharge my records so I could find a new dentist. When i asked for my records and the last X-rays that were done she told me there was a $25 electronic fee to send them via email. I honestly don't get what they big deal was. If insurance was going to pay for the Xray why not just do them so I could see all of these cavities that popped up in less than six months? Just seems like a scam practice and It's really a shame because i could tell the previous dentist had a good clientele and reputation before he sold his practice to Dr. Chitra.

Dr. Shan sent me a text Sunday May 3rd from her cell phone that my appointment was cancelled - the day before my appointment which was Monday May 4th and to check with my insurance that I was not assigned to her office from my network. I checked with my insurance and her office name was assigned. Then I received a call that I have to pay $100.00 for the visit and X-rays, I told Michael the office operator that my insurance was 100 % coverage for visits and Xray. I called my insurance and in effect, I'm covered. Called the office and spoke to "Michael" and he said I had to pay $100.00 and to get reimbursed from my insurance. I made this appointment on April 17, today is May 4th and it was the day I was giving. Since I didn't want to loose my spot, I was willing to pay $100.00 then I received a call that the Dr. didn't feel 'comfortable' taking me in as a patient (???) I called, it went to VM, called again went to vm, they are refusing my calls. -Is better not to see her-. It seems like this office is not professional and honest or does have integrity. Even with my insurance that covers 100% they want me to pay $100.00. Is sad to know this type of office is operating. I'm complaining to my insurance to have their name BRITE DENTAL removed from the insurance Network.
