I stopped here because my friend gets her nails done here and they always look amazing. That was not my experience. I was greeted right away so good on that. The lady who did my nails seemed like she was still in training. After sitting there watching her I finally asked her how long she had been doing nails. She said about a year. I could definitely tell. She rubbed my skin with the file/buffer causing it to bleed a little and cracked the skin. After she was done she left polish, gel and hardened dip powder all on my hands. She put an excessive amount of oil on my cuticles and let it drip all on the counter. She didn't even bother to rub it it in. I left and immediately noticed that some of the top coat one one of my nails had already come off. I didn't even bother to go back inside to get it fixed. So, I've been here twice so I can give a far review. Here we go: 1. I tried the 50 dollar pedicure and it was so blah. The powder is in a packet and they just rubbed a bunch of stuff on my feet and rinsed it off. It was nothing special. I felt cheated of an experience. 2. My daughter's nails have fallen off, twice. This is the last straw for me. She is a majorette and her nails cannot randomly fall off. She has lost a nail on both occasions... two different nails. 3. The owner offered a white lady, who came in almost an hour after me, water or soda to drink as soon as she say down. I was offered nothing. I felt like this was unacceptable but unsurprising. 4. I had a pretty good experience. My husband and I stopped in at 5pm on a Saturday and got right in. We both got spa pedicures, and I had a full set of acrylics put on. I will say the girl went pretty fast, and she might could have done a better job filing and polishing, but I'm still happy with how they look. The pedicures were wonderful! They constantly asked how the temp was and adjusted and it felt great. My friend found Karina's Nail on Yelp and saw they had good reviews and also liked the pictures of their work since she's real picky about her nails. She called and made an appointment and since she dragged me along she treated me to a pedicure. Now mind you, This is the second pedicure I've ever gotten in my life, since I'm real ticklish, but it was a good experience nevertheless. I informed the nail tech that was a rookie and she was kind to walk me through the process. The place was pretty packed with more than 8 techs but the energy was cool. All the technicians seemed young and hip, even diverse, not your typical boring nail salon where there's no conversations going on due to the language barrier. I made a few jokes and got comfortable and even the other techs joined in and made me feel more comfortable since I was a guy. I'm pretty self conscious of getting a pedicure or going to a salon for that matter but they made it seem normal. All the staff were real friendly, from the hostess Katy, to the tech, China. Even the owner was all having a good time. This is definitely a good spot to be a regular where everyone knows each other and just allow yourself to get pampered. I have been going to the same nail tech for nearly a decade however she's relocating so I needed a new spot. I showed the lady a pic from their IG page while she was doing my pedicure. She said it's dip polish and the price is $45 including a manicure. After receiving a subpar manicure another young lady replicated the pic better than perfect. However, I get to the register and was told my nails were $70 not the $45 that this same person quoted?! I have gone to this salon exactly 2 times. On my first visit, even though I felt the shop could have been cleaner and more organized, the service was fine. They gave me a $10 coupon for my next visit. On my last trip (I will never go back) I took my daughter and we had out nails done. My daughter was complaining that her fingers were sore and I noticed that they had filed so aggressively against her finger that she had raw spots that were red and painful. Upon leaving, when we went to pay, we were overcharged for the services we got. According to their schedule of charges we were to pay $20 for a full set (she charged me $30) and $35 for a dip set (she charged me $40.) We got no fancy services or extras, she just asked for more money. I handed her the $10 coupon from my earlier visit and she still wanted $70. I will never go back. The owner is the person who did my daughter's nails and filed her fingers raw, and the person who overcharged me. Beware of her chalkboard of prices. If you go there, insist on getting a price first.
