They also boarded her for a night once and I was very pleased with their accommodations. :) I can greatly recommend their daycare. It's on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and I feel good knowing my little 8lb dog isn't in danger of being crushed by a much larger dog. I have a great recommendation for their vet services, though, and may start going there for regular vet now that I've moved further away from my current vet. If I switch, I'll update my review here. :)

She was incredibly uncompassionate, belligerent when discussing things I did not want performed, very unprofessional and in the end, down right incompetent causing my cat more pain, fear and general trauma. My cat is terrified of the outdoors, hates cars and being in a carrier. She doesn't like strangers in the best of times so naturally, when you add sick and in loads of pain to all that you have an animal that is going to be quite hostile. I told the staff flat out, my cat has all her claws, she's scared and she will attack if you're not careful. The vet ignored my warning, and just grabbed my cat without taking any precautions (like having an assistant firmly hold kitty while she did her prodding). She was quickly put in her place for being so stupid. Any pity I felt for her scratches evaporated when she muttered "that's just great" while storming off and slamming the exam room door behind her. Her behavior completely terrified my cat. She was so scared she was pressed against me trembling. The whole thing was a major warning sign to me so I got her calmed down and back in her carrier, figuring if the vet wasn't apologetic and as sweet as pie when she came back we'd leave. When the vet came back, she was far from sorry. Instead, she started giving me the third degree about my cat not being spayed. I was taken aback by her aggression and the tangent from my cat's problem. She's an indoor only cat, with zero interest in the outdoors and besides the rare butt problem is very healthy. I believe spaying to be cruel and unnecessary in this situation and told her so. She became increasingly hostile and aggressive about it until I finally told her if this is a real problem for you I'll go elsewhere. She continued trying to argue with me at which point I had enough and realized I neither trusted nor respected this woman as either a vet or a human being, and didn't want her anywhere near my cat. I left and went to the emergency vet. They were as awesome as this vet was vile. I'm left wondering if she thought she could somehow guilt-trip or bully me into paying for additional unnecessary services. She was certainly using all the tactics...In any case, I am Never going back and I strongly discourage everyone from getting services here.

Stevie had a very lg mass on her back that kept getting infected. After a couple rounds of antibiotics and talking with the Dr Joe we both agreed it needed to be removed. My husband and I were nervous about a 16 yr old dog having surgery.The surgery went so well and Joe and Chris are the most compassionate people and true lover of animals. We went to pick stevie up that night they had her on a blanket in the office next to chris. We absolutely have the best vet in madison which I've known since she was going as a puppy to them Stevie is doing great about 6 weeks post surgery no pain and back to going for our 1 mile walks a day. I truly believe most other vets would of said it's time to put her down in same situation. One thing I appreciate is that she is up front about whether or not she thinks it's worth running testing. There have been a number of times where she has flat out said that the information we could get from expensive tests won't be any more useful than trying a certain risk-free intervention first, which has saved us hundreds of dollars. I absolutely trust her and her staff with my cats and with my wallet, which is not something I often feel about a vet clinic!

I returned to say goodbye and was treated as though I posed a danger to my own cat, subjected to cruel comments, and initially denied the opportunity to see him before he had even been surrendered. Although the practice owners later said in writing that staff comments fell below their standards of professionalism and compassion, the experience permanently damaged my trust in this practice and left me traumatized. * * * I had been their client for years and trusted them with the care of my three cats, 2 of them special needs. Lev was found on the streets of Chicago with hind leg paralysis. I adopted him and with neurology, PT, and years of dedicated care, he regained significant function and went on to be the playful little monkey he is today. He is deeply loved, and surrendering him was not a decision I made lightly. Lev had long-standing inappropriate defecation issues that were manageable, but over the past year they worsened significantly. I repeatedly contacted the clinic for help as accidents increased, he began tracking poop throughout my home, and I became concerned about stress and aggression toward my other cats, who increasingly hid and avoided him. More recently, he began peeing in the house and I found blood in his urine. I brought him in with a sample and he was diagnosed with a "raging UTI." I followed treatment recs but his symptoms continued. I was spending hours each week cleaning poo/pee from multiple rooms and frequently bathing him after he became soiled. I communicated repeatedly that I was at my breaking point, asked for options before surrendering him. My last plea went unanswered, and I ultimately explained I could no longer manage his care. Dr. Kay suggested Madison Cat Project, which declined due to his medical and behavioral needs. At her suggestion, I boarded Lev for 5 days while awaiting my DCHS intake appt. During that time, I was told I could instead surrender him to P4P for rehoming. When I returned after boarding, I was handed surrender paperwork. Before signing, I asked to say goodbye. The receptionist said, in a curt tone, "No, you can't see him. He's under our care now." I told her he was still legally my cat and I had a right to see him. An angry boarding staff member came out and said I would only be allowed to see Lev through glass because he was concerned about "what I might do to him." I had just spent days boarding him at their recommendation while doing what was best for him, and here I was being treated as a threat to my own cat. The receptionist then told me, "Honestly, I feel sorry for your cat." Completely unnecessary and deeply hurtful. Dr. Kay eventually intervened, allowed me to hold Lev and say goodbye, for which I am grateful. She told me staff believed I had said I wanted to "throw him off a bridge." I never said that. If there was concern, I should have been asked directly rather than having a serious accusation repeated as hearsay. I was seeking help throughout, not expressing intent to harm him. Dr Kay asked what would make this right; I wanted an apology -- she said the staff would not apologize. Later I requested a refund for boarding, as I had relied on the clinic's recommendation to board him while pursuing surrender options, only to be treated as a danger to the very cat I had entrusted them with. That request was denied. The owners later acknowledged in writing that staff comments did not reflect their expected standards of professionalism and compassion and apologized "that this added to my distress" (they did not apologize for their actual behavior). I appreciate that, but it does not change the impact of the experience. What should have been a compassionate goodbye became something deeply distressing and humiliating. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable entrusting my other cats to this practice or recommending it to others.

This was repeatedly missed at the upscale, expensive clinic down the street. Our dog suffered needlessly for years until we returned to MVC. Fancy office space does not make up for quality care.

There is ample parking, and the clinic is very inviting. As new patients, we didn't quite know what to expect, but as soon as we walked in, we felt welcomed by the staff. The staff and Dr. Karlburg were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They answered our questions and took the time to address our concerns. We went back a couple days ago and had the same experience. I was talking to another client and he said he has been coming to Beltline for over 3 years and has never had a bad experience. They use Beltline for vet and bordering needs. We feel blessed to have found Beltline and will be coming back.
