i want to let everyone know about the excellent experiences we have had with dr. ann vetter and the east towne pet clinic. dr. vetter is straightforward, and very direct about her assessments, but that is what i want in a vet. she is also very gentle and loving with our pets (even our animals with some less-than-lovable social skills!) and she shows a real passion for animal health and welfare as well as patience and compassion for animals in pain, experiencing fear and anxiety, and animals in discomfort. i have found her to be extremely knowledgeable and experienced with all kinds of animals (she has taken excellent care of our chickens as well as our dogs!) and i feel like we are getting the best care for our animals with her and at her clinic. she has even gone so far as to make a house visit to care for one of our hens after a hawk attack, and she was gentle, considerate, and competent. she helped us to prevent an infection and helped to save our hen's eye (and little life!) and helped us figure out how to reintroduce her to the flock. dr. vetter has helped us with a variety of health and behavioral issues associated with our rescue dogs and her advice and support has been invaluable. in fact, i feel strongly that we have been able to manage a lot of our dogs' issues successfully in large part due to her ongoing support and solid information and advice. there have been times that dr. vetter had suggestions for how we could get better behavior from our animals or ways to improve the care we take of our animals. but she is always gentle, understanding, and considerate when she offers us her professional advice, and these suggestions have always been in response to our request for her best assessment of our situation. i have very much appreciated the fact that dr. vetter is willing to share her opinions and experiences with me and i am positive that our pets have benefited from dr. vetter's expertise. when we adopted our dogs we were novice dog owners and we weren't familiar with general dog health, behavior, and care. this was also the case when we decided to become backyard chicken keepers. dr. vetter helped us every step of the way without being judgmental or pushy. i feel like we have been able to develop a real and very respectful partnership with dr. vetter and it brings us a lot of comfort to know that we have her expertise and support as we continue to care for our beloved rescue pups and our cat and our chickens. i cannot recommend dr. vetter and the east towne pet clinic enough. we have been extremely happy with the care we have received from dr. vetter and we have a lot of happy and healthy pets to show for her care! read more

Christine was must have been thinking of another company, found East Towne Pet Clinic and assumed it was the same place she took hers. I have been a patient's mommy since two years after this business started in the East Towne area (1998) and haven't considered any other place, since. The most important thing in a vet and her staff, is how they handle bad news and heart broken people-mommies. I have had really bad heart breaks in the past years (ex: a kitten with FIP), and then two recently (one in Dec, one in Feb), among several others. I never felt rushed in our final minutes with the girls and one boy. In two of the cases, we took up over an hour in the room with each, before we were ready. No one rushed us to another room, nor pushed the procedure of the "last shot." Finally, I have NEVER felt put off, talked down to, coerced into, or out of, anything. When terrible decisions arise quickly, comfort is given, to both my little ones (cats) and to me. They love my girls, and even indulge my Abyssinian, who knows she descended from the sacred gods and goddess of ancient Egypt, and requires "worship" from all who enter the home or enter her presence. I love my "babies" and will not allow anyone else to treat them. I feel badly for Christine's experience, but am confident that it was at another vet's office, one with a very similar name (as there are in the area). I am very happy with the service and care from East Towne Pet Clinic. I've been with them for over 10 years with a total of 6 cats and 1 dog over that time. We started going there because that's where our pets had gone to prior to our adoption of them, so we kept them. Over the years, I have never been disappointed in their treatment of me or my pets. They often give discounts and run various monthly specials such as 10% off dental cleanings. They have Sat appointments and offer boarding and grooming services. I live on the far west side and I still make the 35+ minute trip there because I have had nothing but positive experiences. read more

Dr. Vetter took great care of our dog when he was an elder. She was kind, gentle, and very accommodating when it was time for him to go to a better place. She was accessible day and night while we made the decision about when we needed to let him go. After three years we are now ready to get another dog and we wouldn't have any other vet care for our pet. Dr. Vetter's staff have always been very professional each time we have gone to her clinic. Worst experience hands down! My pet ended up dying within one day of being kept over night. The first day I brought my pet in from an injury, the lady literally told me " depends how much I want to spend" to keep my pet alive when he wasn't even facing life threatening injuries which now, clearly could have been preventable if the right tests were done. NEVER GO TO THIS VET! I have never met someone so insensitive my first vet visit, but continued to go since they were the first to get in. HUGE MISTAKE. Still was charged just under a grand for my pet to die in their hands in a week. read more

We love Dr. Vetter! She is a caring, concerned person and vet. Even though her office is on the other side of town from where we live, I would never switch vets. Her pricing is fair, and she explains everything thoroughly. She never tries to push products or procedures that our pets don't need. My daughter's cat was very sick with crystals in the urinary tract, and Dr. Vetter took him to her home over the weekend to make sure she could personally look after him. She really is the best vet we have ever had, and we have a house full of cats and dogs! read more

We are about to adopt our second family dog from rescue and will take him to Dr. Vetter and her fabulous staff right away. We trust Dr. Vetter and appreciate her "bedside" manner and depth of knowledge. She cared for our first dog for four years and was kind and gentle with us when the hard time came to put him down. Throughout our dog's illness, the staff treated us with compassion and understanding. We had long phone calls at home as we sorted out what steps to take and when to take them. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this clinic! read more

I'm moving soon, and though I'm excited by biggest regret is leaving this fantastic vet. They got my cat through diabetes and into remission. The vets and staff, from the vet techs to receptionists, are sweet, caring, and funny. They really got to know me and my cat, and seemed to think he was great. They never got exasperated with my constant calls and questions. I don't trust many people with my pets, but I felt truly safe with them. Will miss them a lot. read more

Dr. Vetter is one of the vets the House Rabbit Society recommended that is qualified to see rabbits. I'd definitely recommend going to see her if you have a bunny. She's very competent and dealt really well with my rabbit. He's a big boy, but she handled him firmly and was able to diagnose and get him through a GI-stasis scare. All of the staff are friendly and work well with rabbits. Prices are reasonable as well. read more

I have taken my guinea pig there since he was 5 months old when he developed mites from bad bedding. And I have never had any problems with them. The Staff has always been polite and courteous and extremely helpful. Am very Happy and Pleased with them and their Service read more
