Few services deserve five full stars, but Karma deserves more. Having tried red Brand X and blue Brand Y in town (these trainers were competent but I was hoping for more), I reached out to Kaitlan at KDT. This highly impressive young woman forever changed my relationship with my puppy Maggie and set us on a course for the kind of dog/owner relationship I had always wanted. She transformed what was an ongoing struggle to a relaxed, joyous experience. Kaitlan has earned my complete trust, and I work diligently to follow her counsel and her example as closely as I can. Maggie can interact with the public happily. It was my hope to have a dog that can live in the human world, and now I know I have that. I would not have had that with the other trainers I met (or the dozens of books I read), it is due to Kaitlan's expertise. The icing on the cake: she makes it seem effortless... which makes the whole experience a joy, and a relief, rather than hard work. If I read these words prior to the beginning of our training, I would not have believed them, that training really can be a joy and a relief. Kaitlan and Hannah make class so much fun. Maggie is a happier dog--and I a happier mama--because of her training. Maggie was not as happy with Brand X or Brand Y, I think because Kaitlan not only has technical skills, she has a an innate ability to connect with animals. She taught me how to read and respond to Maggie in ways that earn her trust and respect, how to be a fair and consistent parent that Maggie can understand. Karma's program is outstanding--more than competitively superior-- and it comes with my best recommendations and highest confidence. read more

I attended the Puppy Kindergarten class led by Kaitlan and Hannah. I'm a first-time dog owner and prior to attending the class my then 11 week old dog, Ari, was cornered by a growling puppy. He was a bit timid as a result. I was very frazzled as a new dog owner and wasn't sure how to handle socialization with my dog after that. Kaitlan and Hannah did an excellent job of bringing Ari out of his shell, teaching him good playing behavior and new commands. Ari learned the basics like sit, stay, not pulling on the leash, etc. I loved the balance the instructors had of being informative, caring, alert to every dog's behavior but also very relaxed. On Ari's first day of class he sat in the corner and didn't interact with any people or dogs. By the second and third sessions his confidence had grown and he was out there playing with all the puppies. Towards the end he was one of the most high energy puppies in his class. We both looked forward to attending and the instructors had a formative influence on my pup's early socialization. Ari now goes to dog parks and plays with all the dogs in the neighborhood, and he has quite a few commands under his belt. I'm very grateful for this class and the caring, skilled instructors at Karma Dog! They helped get Ari and his human started on the right path :-) I would definitely take another class with Kailtlan or Hannah. read more

The puppy kindergarten class taught by Kaitlan Rester and Hannah Barrera was an excellent socialization and learning experience for my very lively Lab/Australian Shepherd cross. It was most important to me to have "Earl" in a professional socialization class during his critical period of socialization. Success!! I have trained my own dogs for many years, but had not had the opportunity to attend a puppy socialization class. Since we live in a remote rural area, there aren't many opportunities for "Earl" to play with other puppies in a supervised and safe environment. The professionally taught class presented in a positive and fun manner was well worth the 3 hour drive to attend. Both instructors were competent, personable and able to teach clearly, and great with the puppies. The trainers were available and promptly answered my emailed questions and requests. This class has given "Earl" a great start and we both enjoyed each session. I highly recommend Karma Dog Training classes taught by Kaitlan Rester and Hannah Barrera. read more

Kaitlan Rester and Hannah Barrera were absolutely wonderful! My 2 puppies just graduated their puppy kindergarten classes and I couldn't be happier with their training techniques and their extensive knowledge of everything "puppy". :) Kaitlan was super wonderful because she graciously helped me with one of my pups in each class so that both could attend together since I didn't have anyone that could come to the classes with me to help and I wanted so much to train them together. I am forever grateful for her doing that for my little ones! I am looking forward to the next series of classes for my boys and wouldn't want to go anywhere else but where Hannah and Kaitlan are teaching! :) I highly recommend Hannah and Kaitlan!! I am so very grateful for everything Kaitlan has done for our pitbull puppy Athena. While sweet and intelligent she was very afraid of other puppies and acted out aggressively toward them from the first class. Kaitlan has gone above and beyond with us, giving us exercises to do at home with her and showing encouragement and patience. She and Hannah have been amazing. Anyone thinking about getting this breed should invest in these classes. These trainers really know what they are doing. Our girl has made fantastic progress in the weeks we have been attending. My daughter and I fell in love with a sweet and very energetic boxer-pitbull mix a few months ago. As a first-time mommy to a potentially big dog I didn't know where to start. Calling Karma Dog Training was the best thing for us all. Jeff is clearly an expert but even better is the fact that he listened and gave great advice. Hannah Barrera was AMAZING!! My pitbull Roxie went from hyper, hard to control, with bad manners to a calmer, well trained, more polite dog. I was lost and had no idea what to do with Roxie, our whole household was affected by her behavior, thats when I looked into a dog trainer and met Hannah. I learned so much from her time with us and my whole family sees the difference in Roxie. Not only was Hannah fun to be around she was very patient with me and Roxie. Kaitlan Restor was amazing! In an hour and a half, she trained me perfectly on how to help Renee refrain from jumping on us and everyone else and pulling on the leash. These 2 behaviors were making us a little nutty. In a matter of a few days, she's almost lost the jumping habit. The loose-leash walking is going a little more slowly, but Kaitlan said it would. Renee is going longer walking right by my right side and taking less time in between episodes of correct walking. Kaitlan showed us that we humans are definitely trainable! Kaitlin and Hannah made our puppy class a very enjoyable experience! They were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. They helped me see where I was making mistakes with training Baxter and what steps I could take to improve not only his training, but the way I was teaching him. My puppy Daisy finished puppy kindergarten a few weeks ago. We learned so many commands. One thing I really liked was that the puppies had the opportunity to play together during the class.
