I went here on referral from a coworker roughly about 6-7 months ago. My wife and I have been taking our vehicles here since. The hand wash for $25 is a decent deal especially if you have higher end vehicles as we do. I took my truck in a couple months ago and was charged for a hand wash and also for the first time had the interior detailed. I was ok with the exterior wash (always some small missed spots), but the inside after driving off was really not acceptable at a cost of around $75 total. At the time I figured I would address that the next time I came in, but I ultimately brushed it off. Today I went in and asked for my normal exterior hand wash along with tire dressing with dressed up wheel wells. I was told when I came in I would be charged for the normal hand wash and an additional 10-15 for the additional dressing for the tires and wheel wells. They said it would take about an hour and they were correct. When I came in the manager (I assume) was quite friendly when I first walked in, but not so much when it came to the bill. He lectured me that I've been undercharged since I've been coming in and that the cost would be considerably more the next time and specifically said if I decide to come back! The assistant manager has always been very pleasant to work with, but this time I was made to feel guilty like I was ripping them off. Despite what I was told I was going to be charged originally, the total came to $50 for a hand wash/ tire/wheel well treatment and that's really pretty spendy and not the agreed amount. I was just really set back being a customer that has looked past the reviews! I failed to mention to them the poor interior job I had the last time. I still have smudges all over my glass inside from before. The previous hand washes have been pretty decent and after the "talking to" I got today the only reason I gave it 2 stars is because by the time I got home to look it all over, I realized that the friendly assistant manager did the best job I've seen since I've been in. A couple of missed spots, but hay we are all human (I never complain, but the treatment of the aftermath had to be mentioned). I only left a $5 tip on the price of $50 today, but the last time I tipped over 20% and had a really bad interior job so I don't feel to bad (I always tip at least 20%). I won't be back again with our vehicles and with the large company I work at nearby I will certainly spread the word with our company blog. I hope you all have a better experience if you decide to take a chance like I did despite the poor reviews. Sounds like they have it together in Bellevue, just not Mukilteo! read more

I am not sure why Karmichael doesn't have the best ratings, but I went there today and had my seriously NASTY Toyota detailed- I am going to sell it and needed it looking pristine- and man DID THEY DELIVER!!! I took my 2009 Honda in and they did a great job on the exterior, the interior was lacking and left a lot to be desired and for $99.95 it was an OK job. The exterior of the car looked great like new but the interior was supposed to be vacuum but looked rushed and basic at best and the windows looked smudgy. I decided to give them another chance and took my husbands new 2012 Toyota Truck in since like I said the Honda looked great on the outside. I decided to take the truck in for a HAND WASH!!! I chose the Managers Special @ $35.95 but when I received the truck it was clean on the surface but the grille, the side mirrors, and the hood had a bunch of dead bugs still on it. Some where all smudge up from them cleaning right on top of them. I thought it was supposed to be a HAND WASH? that is the whole point of the high price right? Also my windows again looked sloppy and smudges everywhere, and the interior vacuuming again left a lot to be desired. It was no different than if I had run it through an automatic car wash. I have washed my own cars after taking them here and guess what?? the bugs fall right off every time I wash the truck and I do it by hand with a regular hose no major scrubbing needed, also I vacuum the interior with my own $50 car vacuum and my cars look 100% better than they ever did going here. Disappointing, Overpriced, Lacks in Value and Service will not go back. read more

Sorry to say, but I can longer recommend this particular Karmichael branch due to very bad service encountered earlier today. This is more to do with their self service car wash than their detailing services. I had an issue in which the final spot free rinse was not working. I brought it up to a manager, and he said that the regular rinse should be good enough. I indicated that in the past, the regular rinse leaves spots. He then told me that since it spot free rinse ran out, it will not work. I asked for a partial refund, and he got somewhat upset, then he said "Fine....I'll give you some of your f**king money back"...this is no way to respond to a customer complaint. He did have a helper dry my car off so it would not leave spots, so i ended up tipping the helper with my refund, but I still will never go back to this place ever again. There is no excuse for cussing at a customer for requesting a refund on a product that was not received. It's a shame too, since I've used this place in the past for details, and was planning on using them in the future too, but since there are so many other quality detailers in the area, I'll take my business elsewhere. In this day and age, with websites such as Yelp and Tripadvisor, it's surprising that businesses will still be jerks. Oh well...their loss...I'll happily pay $350 dollars to another business elsewhere. read more

I've been taking 2 cars to Karmichaels for 2-3 yrs, a Porsche and a Lexus. Their work has been overall about average, not bad, not great (once they forgot to wax the top of my SUV, etc.). But they're convenient, close to our home. However, twice now they've done minor damage to the Porsche--both requiring work by a body shop. Mistakes happen, but what really bothers me is their defensiveness, essentially accusing the customer of trying to pin something on them and refusing to take responsibility for the problem. So beware of this place! I'm never taking my cars there again, I don't trust them and their quality of work isn't high enough to compensate for the risk of damage. read more

I brought my car to them for a detail earlier this week and the quality of the work, the professionalism of the manager and the efforts put forth to make this a good experience were top-notch. They even offered to drive me back to my home a couple of miles away when I took my car in. The car looks like new, their price was competitive and a good value. I have been to Karmichaels several times now. The first time was for a full complete detail. I dropped my car off in the morning, they gave me a ride home and about 4PM a friend dropped me off to the sight of my car parked right in front of their shop looking brand new. I couldnt believe the difference! My car being a 2006 Subaru Legacy, went from having some dull scratched paint to having a brilliant shine and not a scratch. The same was true with the interior, every inch was covered, between the seats, the vents, every nook and cranny was cleaned. This was an incredible job. Ever since I brought my car in a few months ago, I stop by to have the managers special done. They have also gotten me hooked on Griots products that they sell! Keep up the amazing work! read more

I have been to Karmichaels several times and always been satisfied. The first time I was there I had the "premium detail" don eon my black SUV. I was hesitant about have the outside done because of my fear of swirls. They assured me my SUV would be swirl free! When I showed up to pick up my SUV it was sitting out front, and looked like it just came out of the showroom! The interior was clean and fresh, and the black paint looked brand new! The managers special is a great service also, quick enough to wait for and very through for the price. I plan on going back to them as their consistent quality has earned my business! This place was recommended to me after I stupidly backed into my boyfriend's truck in my brand new car. My boyfriend thought a good buffing would take the extra paint off my car and make it as good as new. I called Mike and he said he would be more than happy to take a look at it. When I arrived Mike welcomed me with a warm and inviting greeting. He immediately grabbed a rag with a solution on it to remove the extra paint from my car. He wiped it off and explained that a buffing probably wouldn't help much and that I would need to have it repainted. Mike was generous and courteous even though in the end he did not receive my business. Mike sent me on my way with recommendations of shops he has worked with that would do a good job on repainting my bumper. Great customer service! Extremely Rude Employee. They have a coin operated vacuum and car wash. The owner's brother walks around and is extremely rude to customers. My 11 year old was sitting on the vacuum. A normal person would have just asked him to get down but this guy was very rude and told us that he would call the police. We had our belongings on the ground (sweatshirts, toys) while we were vacuuming the car. He yelled at us and told us something like "you can't leave that stuff" -- like we would just abandon our sweatshirts and toys and drive away. It was a very bad experience. I would never take my car to be detailed at Karmichael Auto Salon in Mukilteo, WA ever again! I took my brand new car in for a $300 detail and got $1200 damage! Instead of stepping up and owning the error for one of their employees and taking care of a customer, they pushed back and said it didn't happen. On a brand new car? Having seen all the negative reviews on yelp, I thought it only fair to share my excellent customer service experience at Karmichael's in Mukilteo. I took my SUV to Karmichael's several years ago for an exterior detail. I was greated by friendly staff and service options were explained to me, including an option for an engine steam cleaning which I declined as I noted that it can cause engine problems in some vehicles. When I picked up my SUV it looked brand new- I was thrilled! I noticed a hesitation in my engine when I pulled out onto the street, but dismissed it. The next morning when I started my car, it was apparent I had a major issue and promptly took my SUV to the dealership. Service department called several hours later and asked if the car had been in a flood. The repair was ~$500.00. I expected that it would not go well when I took my car and bill back to Karmichael's to discuss with the owner. I asserted that the engine was stream cleaned despite my declining the service. The owner was awesome, he verified with his crew that they had in fact steam cleaned my engine. Mark apologized and immediately wrote a check to cover the repair to my engine. If you don't mind your paint being destroyed when they buff your car this is the place to go. Also, be sure to remind them NOT to spray your brake pedal with their cleaner that basically make the brake pedal so slippery its unsafe. When I attempted to point out these deficiencies after my wife brought the car home the owner implied I was lying and could care less. The Audi dealer in Lynnwood referred us to this company and we have advised them how terrible the work was done. There are much better options and at better pricing. They have done two interior detailings for us and do a fantastic job. A few years ago they did a Lexus we were selling, and when they were finished with it we reconsidered selling it! They just detailed my husband's car, whose interior was pretty dirty, and I thought the results were miraculous. We have not used them for an exterior detail, only for their interior details. Let me start by saying this place is probably fine for brand new cars. Also the customer service was great, the guys were friendly. I even had a brain fart and left my wallet in the car and all the contents were there when I picked it up. The place had lots of audi cars with dealer plates. I am assuming they clean them for the dealers or after a lease is up or something along that line. I am not one of those people. I own an early 2000 coupe and I recently purchased it and wanted to take it to a pro to get it to a like new condition. Well I purchase an amazon local deal plus put down another 200ish all in all I was in for about $280. But this was the full detail service, wash/shampoo the carpets, the roof, the seats, car was ozoned and steam cleaned the engine, clean the trunk, you get it the works. Mind you I am not crazy I only got the engine cleaned to help me trace a leak back to its source. After having all this done when I went to pick it up everything look okay on the surface. The first thing I notice was that they basically hosed the interior down with armorall (I know they probably don't use armorall but for lack of knowing what it is I will refer to it as armorall). This isn't necessarily a bad thing but there was standing armorall in my cup holders, coin racks (which didn't even look like they were cleaned). The armoralled my pedals which made shifting 'fun' at first. Then I notice that there were still bugs at the bottom of the back window! Not much of detailing to leave those obvious guys behind. The engine bay look none the better, basically it looked like they took the rag they just finished amorall with and wiped down the battery and the radiator hose, everything else look poor. Now I called up and talked with Mike and he had told me to bring it back in and they would take a second swing at it. They did address most of my major issues such as the bugs and a few other things in the interior. They steam the engine again but it still looked the same so to be honest it could just be the engine is just that ugly now. But the main reason why my rating is so low was the final quality of service. For the amount I paid I could have bought my own ozone generator plus shampooed the carpets and done all the work myself for cheaper plus then have the generator for future projects. I think they are just used to working on like new cars and when confront with an older one they jumped the shark in their quality of service. read more

About a month ago I ran my 2006 Elantra thru this car wash. It was about 11;30 pm. My car was severely damaged on top of the sunroof...three big cracks in the left side of the windshield and damage to the metal on the roof. When I talked to the owner (I think his name is Mark) he told me he just had the machine check out and everything was A-Ok. He examined the damage and said he would not pay for it, further, he implied I was actually lying when anyone could see where the white arms (on both sides) of the wash is what happened, they came down too hard on the car. He said he would run a video tape to determine if I was actually there and that he would call me. I never heard from him again. I talked to surrounding businesses, like John's Auto Glass (quoted me over $700 to fix the damage to my car)...he said there were all kinds of complaints about Karmichael's. He said one woman's car was so damaged after the wash that he husband threatened to call the police, etc. THE OWNER HAS A MEAN ATTITUDE AND IS NOT A FAIR PERSON.
