Probably the best black rye bread in town. Don't forget the kalbasa (smoked sausage) and fish!

Good luck getting someone who speaks English that can help you find what you're looking for. Called in and was hung up on twice.

Everything is always top quality and the customer service is by far some of the best I have had at a butcher. Their recommendation are always on point and they even will provide you ice packs on request for your freezer bag if you are going to be doing some shopping or have a decent drive back home. I love that they are well knowledgeable about all the products and take the time if you ask to explain the differences in the meats and how they should be cooked for the best experience. If you are ever by the grove or farmers market ask for Brandon (likes to go by B) or Byron they are always willing to help and make sure you are more than satisfied with your purchase. The great thing about them is that they are father (Byron) and son (Brandon) which means they are passing down the skill set and knowledge regarding butchery and meats. If you are in the area or have the means to travel I definitely recommend supporting this establishment at least for your ultra premium, exotic, or seasonal meats.

It's hard find a good butcher. Some are cuisine specific (kosher? halal?), small neighborhood shop or a big butcher like Huntington Meats. Superb quality of items (beef, poultry, oxtails, lamb, pork, etc.) Knowledgeable and friendly staff. It seems like the shop had always been around. Like meatloaf? Hate making meatloaf? Buy a pound or three of raw house-made meatloaf ready to take home and bake! Thinking about grilling some great burgers. They offer Nancy Silverton's special mix of beefs for perfectly juicy burgers (available in 1/4 pound and 1/3 pound raw patties.)

For brisket, they only roll it by hand, which my family insists on, so there's no way we can skip this place. Their top-quality tenderloin cuts are also perfect for bulgogi. Honestly, for our family, we have to use this cut for mille-feuille nabe--anything else for shabu-shabu feels too tough, no matter how soft it looks. Everyone in the house knows this is the only cut that truly satisfies. They even have meat for yukhoe 육회(Korean beef tartare), and when we buy it, we enjoy it so much at home. At this price, it's unbeatable. If we go out to eat, it costs around $35 for such a small portion, but here we get everything we want in one stop.

When we found Pampas we noticed that you grab a tray and walk around and self serve the different food items that were offered. When you get to the meat section you tell the person working behind the counter what you would like, they cut off the meat, put it on the plate and you move on. They weigh your plate and then you pay. For my meal I tried several different types of meat, a stew, mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, and rolls. It was a lot of food and very filling. The meat was definitely the best part of the meal. I chose to get two different types of beef, a serving of stew, and some chicken. Both the beef and the chicken were tender and full of flavor. The stew was delicious. I actually served it over my rice and mixed it together for added texture. The pasta and the rice were al dente and honestly I would have preferred them to be a little more tender than firm. The potatoes were good. They had a slightly salty flavor and were smooth. The rolls were good as they were small, with a semi crispy exterior and a soft interior. Overall Pampas Grill is located in a cool outdoor atmosphere. It has friendly service and the food was very filling and flavorful.

FOOD: Chicken Stroganoff - 9.1 / 10 When someone says "Brazilian", I get that most people immediately think of grilled meat & you wouldn't be wrong. But don't sleep on the stroganoff. It's such an underrated "side" dish. Truth be told, I could just get their stroganoff & be happy as a clam. Pieces of real chicken in a viscous tomato-cream stew. Pro-Tip: pour the stroganoff on their mashed potatoes like a gravy & thank me later. Pão de queijo - 9.1 / 10 The signature bread of Brazil. Small rolls of bready goodness. But what makes their bread stand out? The bits of real cheese that are baked into the bread. No butter needed here. Cheese literally makes everything better. Rice + Beans - 8.3 / 10 The quintessential side dish known as "Moros y Cristianos". They are obviously served separately, but do the traditional move & pour your beans on top of your rice. Platanos - 8.2 / 10 Fried plantains. I prefer mine cooked "well done" so that get those crisp burnt edges. I also believe that cooking them longer makes them sweeter. This is like my "desserts" of sorts since it's a sweet bite. Picanha - 8.6 / 10 The definitive meat of Brazil. If there was only 1 meat - it is this. Flavorful when cooked right. Salted, dipped-in-water, then grilled. Simple. Every Brazilian place should be judged by their Picanha. Linguiça - 8.6 / 10 Sausage. Properly plump + juicy. Well-cooked with a bit of sweetness. The pork is a nice contrast to overwhelming amount of beef that is served at any Brazilian churrascaria. Lamb leg - 8.4 / 10 A lot of people can be apprehensive when it comes to lamb. Get over it. If it's properly cooked - grilled over an open flame, it can arguably beat out a really good piece of grilled beef. Slightly gamier in taste, it's a very welcome addition that brings variety to the table. Picanha ao Alho - 8.7 / 10 Like the aforementioned Picanha but with the addition of garlic. Who doesn't love garlic? Maminha - 8.6 / 10 Their new Tri-Tip. Taste like their signature regular picanha, but with a slightly more tender tetxture. Personally, I think that tri-tip tends to taste a bit beefier than a typical sirloin cap (picanha). Yes, they weigh your plate for the price. Yes, the factor out the weight of the plate.
