We had water damage and the insurance company hired Karson to rebuild our kitchen. They talk a good talk, yet their workmanship is inferior. They ruined our beautiful custom kitchen cabinets and to this day we are still finding issues with their poor workmanship. Our laminate floor has a large gap between 2 planks that I have to pick crumbs out of with a toothpick. Our custom Omega cabinets were not properly sanded and prepped and the stain they applied is coming off all over. (They did give me a paint pen to touch up those spots although it just rubs right off). They torqued the door of our Bosch dishwasher when putting it back and place and they wouldn't accept responsibility for the fact it started leaking after that. I could go on with more issues. Redid our downstairs after a water leak. Terrible workmanship and even worse communication from Dustin. He ordered the wrong size cabinets and was pissed that I had him replace with the correct size rather than leave them the wrong size with a filler piece. And I'm a stickler for details. I had a water leak that created a lot of damage in the kitchen walls as well as underneath the floors. Just remodeled the shower build Karson did 3 yrs ago. We hired Karson to fix a shower leak through an insurance claim. The shower they installed was so poorly constructed that within a year we began getting tiny black worm looking bugs in the shower corners and drain! The shower door was installed upside down, backwards and bent! When we finally demoed their work, we found the subfloor and wall rotten under the tile! Mortifying! Took them 6+ wks to complete this job and most the time workers did not show up. Pretty sure they just pick up workers hanging outside of Home Depot. Awful! read more

I honestly wish no stars was an option. We had our initial walk through with Dustin back in June. Cut to six weeks later, after having to chase them down for an estimate with repeated promises of "you'll have it soon", I finally receive this ridiculous excuse for an estimate. Over 10,000 for a 5'x8' bathroom?!? We planned to provide all materials, it was purely for labor and they wanted 10,000. The estimate had no itemization of cost just a list of what they planned to do and an arbitrary number thrown on there. I immediately canceled our start date (which was to be two month after the initial meeting because they are "so busy") and will be finding a new contractor. This company is appalling in their lack of professionalize and I strongly advise against considering them for any projects in your home. read more

I called Karson as a referral to mount a kitchen sink. I had my plumber out to install the sink but it required a couple of small cuts in my countertop to make space for the mounting brackets and he didn't feel comfortable making the cuts. So I left Karson a message on Thursday afternoon. They responded on Friday AM and scheduled an estimator to come out Monday. So far, so good. The estimator provided a written estimate for $500 to make the cuts to the countertop, mount the sink, and seal it with white silicone. They did the work and I scheduled my plumber to come back the next day because I was told the silicone needed a bit of time to set. I saw some bubbling in five different sections around the sink but figured it would settle as mentioned by the technicians. My plumber arrives the next day and come to find out, instead of cutting the countertop and mounting the sink, Karson cut the mounting nodules off the sink and glued it in. They did not use the mounting brackets and this thing is now held in place with glue. Karson never advised me that they could not perform the services as originally quoted and never informed me they were doing anything other than what was agreed upon. Even the final invoice they sent after the work was completed and my payment cleared, listed the same exact estimate (including cutting the countertop). I asked my plumber to try to fix the silicone but he was unable to because it is was not silicone, it's some type of glue. Trying to even it out with silicone would look even worse. It never settled and still has bubbles. The pictures attached were taken today, three days after their work was completed, so I doubt anything is going to settle further. I also now have two black marks on the back of the sink that will not come off. It's probably scuff marks from the grinder they used to cut off the mounting nodules on the sink. PROS: -The customer service/people who handle invoicing were nice -Responsive and were able to get someone out quickly -Everything was clean when they left -Technicians/estimator wore masks CONS: -Did not do work as agreed upon and did not inform me ahead of time (or after the fact) that they did work not specified on the estimate -Poor job applying silicone/glue(???) -Damaged sink -Only accepts check or money order Overall, 0/10 would recommend. read more

When someone leaves a negative review, and all other reviews are stellar, there has to have been something going on! It really isn't fair to hard working companies when a disgruntled customer who doesn't make good on their contract writes a BOGUS review. Karson Construction totally deserves your business. They worked with me on what I needed and were just amazing to work with. I'm a single Mom and the flooring in my bathroom actually felt like I was going to sink into "quicksand"! Completely disgusting... If I could give Karson Construction negative stars, I would. What started out to be a positive experience when Dustin (who by the way is friendly and knowledgeable), came to my home to assess the work, quickly turned in to a GIANT storm of garbage. First of all, the estimate for the work that was needed was ridiculously high, and included so many unnecessary items. My main concern though was that they failed to communicate with my insurance adjuster. It was not until I sent an email stating that maybe the job at my home did warrant a call back to either my self or my adjuster, did I receive a call back almost immediately from Marielena. I stated my concerns, and she had the "manager" Amy, call me back. The conversation with Amy was by far the WORST customer service that I have ever received in my life. You cannot tell a potential customer that the company is communicating with your adjuster when they clearly are not. Oh, my mistake, they left her a message AFTER I sent my email expressing my concerns. Thankfully, after all of the back and forth with Amy, I was able to cancel our contract , and trust me, I am not sad. There are better construction companies out there. No thank you Karson Construction. My expectations were not met, and your level of customer service leaves something to be desired. Except Dustin, he's great! read more

This was my first experience having to work with fixing a bathroom leak that destroyed my kitchen and Master bath. I am so thankful my first experience was with Karson, they have set a high bar of expectations. It's not often I have to fire a contractor for sheer incompetence, but that's all I could do when after five months these criminals still hadn't completed a simple bathroom restoration. After needlessly tearing out tile and marble, they cashed their insurance check and promptly vanished, claiming they were unable to get marble samples for us to approve. Then they insisted there were no such things as octagonal tiles...which we eventually found. All these pirates are missing are eye patches and peg legs. If you ever file an insurance claim, be sure to avoid them. We ended up hiring replacements who were way faster and less expensive. Their six month never-ending ripoff will be completed in less than four weeks. read more

They redid our cabinet and drawer wood surfaces in the kitchen in March 2018. It looked good for about a year. Then I started noticing that the finish was coming off in many areas. The first thing they told me was that, "I told you it would only last a year." And, "It was not a fault of our product. It is from use." We use our cupboards and drawers in the kitchen as they should be used and are not rough with them. The previous cupboard finishing we had lasted over fifteen years before it started fading. I would not recommend a company that refinishes cupboards that barely last a year. It is expensive... and now our cupboards look worse than they did before we got them redone. They will vacuum up cement with your $400 dyson vacuum cleaner & pour the rest of the cement in your flower bed!!! They don't cover any of the furniture and don't clean up the mess when they leave!! Expect to spend at least 24 hours trying to clean up the mess they left behind!!! Their work was so bad that I've had ants in my bathroom since they left!! I finally had to caulk all the cracks they left myself just to keep the ants away!!!! And they will just get rid of/break your mirrors/closet doors without telling you & then expect you to pay for it - even tho it wasn't included in the original estimate!!! I absolutely recommend Karson Construction. In the end of February my husband had the brilliant idea of hanging a new lighting fixture above our island in the kitchen, little did he know our overhead fire sprinkler system was really close to the area he just needed to make "a little bigger" for the fixture to fit. Guess what happened next? Yup, my brand new kitchen and house was now flooded. We've only been in our new house less than a year but because it was a problem we created our builders wouldn't cover it. So I reached out to Karson Construction because they were recommended by a friend in our neighborhood. I spoke with Aimee and they immediately had someone over to our house the next morning. My husband was so embarrassed to say the least. Dustin came in, did the evaluation and told us what would need to be done. From the time we met with him to the time they began working on our home was less than 2 weeks (mainly because we were waiting on our insurance to approve the estimate). They were professional, knowledgeable and completely upfront on the timeline it would take for completion. Then if it wasn't already bad enough, a freakin pandemic hits. We thought for sure our construction would be halted but nope, they took all the necessary precautions and finished up ahead of schedule. The work was done beautifully and our kitchen looks better than it did before the incident happened. I'm shocked to read some of these other reviews cause it definitely was not the service my family and I received. Worst company ever, had Insurance damage, karson gave me a estimate for the bare minimum, I signed the contract than they told me they are to busy and couldn't even tell me when they could begin. 2 months went by, I got tired of waiting so got a second estimate. The other company came in $5,000 less with all upgrades where karson was putting my house back to its original state. So I canceled with them now they want a 20% fee for doing absolutely nothing. When a water line burst under my refrigerator and damaged my kitchen cabinets and hardwood floors, I was prepared for a long and difficult restoration process. Luckily for me, my restoration company recommended Karson Construction. Dustin, the owner, is trustworthy, reliable and his people do good work. He came out the day of the loss to get a look at the work required even though he wasn't in the area - which I appreciated. He communicated clearly with me and worked quickly and effectively with my insurance company to get all of the necessary work approved. I ended up having to refloor the entire house and the kitchen cabinets had to be restored and restained. I stayed in a rental in my neighborhood while the work was completed and all the workers (floor and cabinet) were talented and responsible. Dustin understood my concerns about being out of the house for too long with 4 pets and a teenager and worked as best as he could to accomodate my schedule.
