I wanted to like them. But it was miss after miss from the moment we walked in. There were small dead flies in the sugar container on the table. They gave us dirty side dishes for our chips and salsa. Like melted cheese that wasn't fully washed off, but baked in the dryer. Food was sub par. I ordered flautas, and nothing on the plate was worth $17. Shredded chicken was flavorless, and the actual tortilla was half filled. It was plied high with sour cream and cheese, and sprinkles with plain tomatos. No flavor. Nasty generic beans and orange rice. Horchata was the only good thing there, but for $3.50 you get a size medium glass filled with ice. Staff is very friendly. read more

I visited KAMR with a friend and his family, and from the moment we walked in, it felt like a different experience. The interior was beautiful, welcoming, and very clean. The food was outstanding, both in quality and flavor, and the portions were generous, which I really appreciated. The service was excellent as well; the staff was thoughtful enough to offer a high chair for my friend's son, which made the visit even more comfortable for our group. This was formerly Tres Amigos with new owners/management, along with new decor inside the restaurant. Everyone is very friendly and we received great service. We ordered the quesadilla, steak fajitas, horchata, iced coffee, and flan. Everything was delicious and the portions were excellent. The provided chips and salsa seemed homemade and were also delicious. Their salsa verde is amazing! We'll be back! read more

Went for dinner tonight and everything was excellent! Our server was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. The restaurant is nicely decorated for Valentine's Day, nice touch! Our table ordered different Margaritas which were all good. I had Tampequina that was cooked perfectly. My husband had a biggest burrito I have ever seen! Son ordered fish tacos, daughter had chicken flautas that she said were SO GOOD! Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. I highly recommend! What a treat! read more

Honestly, we tried. Ordered carry out. Sure miss the 3 Amigos ...,we wanted to give Kasa Amigos a whirl. Yeah, meat (Carne Asada)- tasted off, and under seasoned. Beans - bland, and our Burito Suisos ( Carne) were well... just ok. We tried to play it safe and get something to not screw up....good size burritos though- it is filling...but was missing flavor. The Suiso.. watery- missing seasoning again, ... Salsas green was bland but the Rojas salsa was better. There was nothing really memorable, and to us, it was really bland.... So: Overall, nothing really stood out to us. Sorry Kasa Amigos. We tried. It all just meh... back on the hunt for a 4 or 5 star Mexican Restaurant .... Just not here... read more

SO disappointed. Got a groupon, excited to try a new place. Really cool pictures and vibes inside. Ordered to go: chicken enchilada dinner, 1 elotes, small guac and chips. $38 not counting the $15 I already laid First I paid and tipped for a to go order, asked for green sauce like it's offered at every Mexican restaurant. I was told no, that is for tacos. I laughed thinking she was joking! I said I want it for my green sauced enchiladas. she again said no it's only for people who order tacos...WTF. Beans were a disgusting glob like out of a can. Enchiladas were very good but chicken was a bit dry (needed that "taco" sauce) ONE bite of an $8 elote and spit it out. Tasted SOUR! Wrong mayo?? idk. Guac was tasty added lime and salt. Would've probably gave it another try if it wasn't for the poor customer service. stick with Taco's el Norte read more

First, I must say I am very happy to have this open again. We came with a small group of friends and the decor is updated and looks really nice and authentic. The service was attentive but lacking in fulfilling our orders and requests - a few meals were incorrect when served. The food is good, but not at the level of what it was under 3 Amigos - at least for dinners. A few commented their entrees were bland which surprised me given it is a Mexican restaurant! Overall, the ambiance is improved but the servers must improve on understanding orders and delivering as requested. We hope the food quality continues to improve to expectations set when it was 3 Amigos. We will visit again soon with that in mind! read more

We used to eat here regularly when it was 3 Amigos. We will not be returning to Kasa Amigos. The waitress forgot we existed. Our order was not complete and we never saw anyone to talk to. The margarita was missing flavor....like they didn't mix it correctly. Definitely not worth paying for. Overall, this was not good. read more

Had breakfast there this morning. This was my first visit since the business changed hands. I ordered eggs benedict. It was good! I also ordered an orange juice, which was disappointing for $5. I suggest they serve fresh squeezed OJ, and not concentrate. It would make a huge difference. The server was very good. read more

Kasa Amigos is a great addition to the Lake Villa & Lindenhurst communities. Their food is authentic, reasonably priced, and served in very generous portions. The menu is extensive, with burgers, etc., for those customers looking for American food in addition to great Mexican cuisine. If there were any issues from the first couple of weeks they have obviously resolved those very well. The decor is attractive and the service is very friendly and fast! This is our new local favorite for Mexican cuisine, much better than their predecessor at that location. We're so impressed, we wish we could give it six stars!! read more

My family and I had dinner here celebrating my birthday. Food was great! I had the enchiladas Maria Bonita, very tasty! The mole and the tempiquena were also very good! Great food, great service. This place seems to be quite new. Hopefully they have time to figure some things out because it really does have great potential. Visited a few weeks ago and I like that the food was a little adventurous. Margarita was certainly smaller portioned and overly sweet. The salsa came out steaming hot which was unexpected. However, I will say the salsa flavor was good but would have preferred it chilled. No refill provided with chips. Got the Carne Asada dinner and wasn't over impressed with the sides. Steak came out extremely red and needed to be cooked more. Steak had great flavor like a steakhouse ribeye however, it needed seasoning to carry solid Mexican flavor. Would have been 4 stars however, our service wasn't great. Even with only 2 other tables we were barely served or checked on. The language barrier was also difficult as a few items were misordered at our table. Most likely will pass on trying again. read more
