Some things are reasonably placed and others are probably about $3 more than you would expect for your average similar product... but of course there's a bit of an upsell which is to be expected. There is limited street parking with a meter in this area and some other paid parking lots. It was a little hard to find the entrance. You have to enter through one door and once you get into this shared space it's off to your left.... Staff generally kept to themselves and were nice. Rocky Mountain really has a lot of great gifting items. Everything is super cute and detailed and catered for different occasions - it's a boy/it's a girl baby showers, golf themed boxes just in time for the greens to start opening, giant birthday chocolate "cakes" (it's a large circle shaped chocolate with toppings), and even just because treats for your dog! There were a lot of seasonal Easter items in stock including giant eggs that looked to be stuffed with popcorn and eggs that have a chance of having a $1,000 gift certificate inside. There were also a lot of cute bunny chocolates including ones that featured bunny bums complete with white chocolate bunny tail. I was meeting up with some relatives for dinner and was inspired to get a gift when I remembered that we had a few diabetics in the family. Since we were at a specialty store I thought I'd try my luck to see if they had any options for my situation and sure enough they did! The manager walked me around the store and pointed out the different options to me. For the a la carte chocolates, they have no sugar added almond clusters and peanut butter cups. There were some gift boxes that also had no sugar added for $10 and $20. When we were deciding between the gift boxes another employee came over to suggest the bigger box since it had a better overall value. When is less really more anyways?! Bigger box it was! Finally if chocolate isn't really your thing...they are also part creamery so you can get ice cream instead!

The selection at Sweetie Bear is amazing! They have the typical popular brands, like Calbee, but some other snacks that I can't find at my local grocery store. Most importantly, they have a decent selection of Boss drinks. I ended up ordering quite a big haul and was surprised it was delivered so soon! What impressed me the most was the good communication to ensure the package got delivered. Very much appreciated: One of my favourites so far are the Marukin Hokkiado Milky Cakes (the pastries in the blue bag at the bottom left corner). Perfectly buttery and sweet. They also stock some rarer Pocky flavours I've been looking for, like mint chocolate. I will definitely be ordering from them again!

I frankly hadn't heard of that phrase for years until I saw this business. I digress. I was first introduced to Purdys by two former interns. On their last day of their internship, they both got me chocolates from Purdys. One box had assorted chocolates and the other one had all hedgehog chocolates. Without any hesitation, we headed over to this store after we dropped off our recent purchases at our respective cars. The shopping damage continued at Purdys for me. We walked in. It was a pleasant store. I saw a display for Lunar New Year chocolates. Cool! My friend recently got vegan chocolate from Purdys for Christmas and loved it. She's more of a milk chocolate person than dark. I'm the opposite. I decided to try the vegan dark trail mix bar. I found out that this store has a small section of no-sugar-added chocolates on the right, in the corner, when you first walk in. Yay! I found hedgehog chocolates that didn't have any sugar added and snatched a box. I spoke to the woman at the counter. She was great to point out that the no-sugar-added bars were BOGO. Sweet! Okay, not literally. I noticed a huge chocolate Santa that was 50% off. I asked the woman whether it was hollow. You'd think that I'd get a yes or no response. Nope, I got neither. She said that some parts were thicker than other. So, I'm guessing it's hollow for the most part. I'd die eating that chocolate Santa. Maybe if I paced myself, I could freeze most of it and indulge whenever I wanted to. The woman at the store was nice. She placed everything in a purple bag. I paid with a debit card. I tapped and all was great. This store also has ice cream. I've never had Purdys ice cream, so I'll need to return. I love the chocolate that I bought. The quality is great. Yummy. The no-added-sugar chocolates were perfect. I'm a fan. I still need to have the vegan one. I got sidetracked by all the hedgehogs... haha! This store is awesome. When one must follow a gluten-free diet, it is so nice to find places where you can eat what everyone else gets to enjoy. This was anything but enjoyable. I was planning a little Halloween getaway to Kingston and searching for a new and exciting breakfast place to stop on my way there. I found Heaffles and read through their website--I'm always very careful and vet my restaurants before the trip and plan food meticulously, you have to when you cannot eat gluten. The site stated that if you want a gluten free waffle, you must call 24 hours ahead of time. I immediately thought that was ridiculous (that eliminates any possibility of a GF person walk-in from eating there) but messaged them on Instagram. I asked if I could message then and schedule or did a I have to call. They told me I must call the day before. Pain in the bum, but I set a reminder in my phone and did so. The next day, I show up. Such a cute place and the breakfast that kicks off a trip always makes me so happy. We don't eat out much at all, living so rurally. It had also been ages since I'd enjoyed a GF waffle, so excitement was high. This place has a ton of potential. The seating is cute, the bathrooms clean and so beautifully decorated. There is even a little cubby with cushions that would make it feel as though one was having breakfast in bed. I really did fall in love with the space. There didn't appear to me to be a traditional server comes to your table. You walk in and place your order at the counter. I ordered a Flat White to drink along with a water and a gluten-free coconut rush. The young lady at the counter was very quick to tell me that they had a customer coming in to get a GF waffle and that they only had enough batter for one waffle and that I would need to try again and call 24 hours beforehand. Right before I told her I was that customer, my brain was like, what? You have enough batter for ONE waffle??? I make GF stuff all the time. It is NOT that expensive. And what if you mess up that ONE waffle (and they did because she didn't listen to me)? I said, "Oh, I called yesterday." And I had driven a very long way. I would hate for anyone else to do that and end up disappointed. After that, I was allowed to order my waffle. Coconut is my favourite sweet flavour, but it came with strawberries and strawberry syrup. I told her THREE times I didn't want the strawberries or the syrup. Strawberry jam, jelly syrup...I hate them all, also cannot stand cooked fruit. She told me she could put the strawberries on the side and that they were uncooked. I said that was okay, but reiterated AGAIN that I do not want or like the strawberry syrup. I thought I might get my drinks at the counter, but she said they would bring everything to my table. I sat within view of the counter by the window. I assumed, as at most places, the drinks would come out first. I had started on the Terra Health heartburn kit to kick my PPI script and needed to take the supplements before eating. Some ladies came in after me and they got their drink order while I sat and waited. The waffle came out, and I was too panicked by not taking my supplements to pay that much attention and told them I needed some water and that I didn't have my coffee yet. They came back in a few minutes and in the meantime, I saw that the waffle I'd paid nearly $30 for, along with a very tiny flat white coffee, was drenched...every inch in yucky strawberry syrup. I'm a silver lining kind of girl, so I told myself to try it, maybe my tastes have changed. Nope. It was this strong, chemically strawberry flavour that made me gag. Talk about disappointed. At this point it was late in the morning and I was starving. I opened up the waffle (the size, even if they'd managed to listen to my order was not worth what I paid) and ate some of the filling out. The only waffle that had no nasty syrup was at the fold and I ate the four bites I could. The coffee was literally 3 swallows. I left hungry and angry. And in all that time, no one ever came back to ask me how the order was...and I knew I couldn't send it back because that was their ONE GF waffle batter of the day. I had to stop at Wendy's and spend another $10 for a bunless burger after. I would never go back. The ask and not having the batter available is beyond RIDICULOUS, despite the fact they don't listen, which makes a GF person VERY nervous. You couldn't pay me to eat there again. Poor service, poor value and food I couldn't stomach. Not for me.

The woman was unsure of what she wanted. The man seemed like he just wanted to leave. They were being helped by a man behind the counter. I immediately got a friendly woman working with him. She asked me if I needed time. I did. I figured out what I wanted to order: - Strawberry danish - Raspberry and custard danish - Chocolate croissant There were a few customers who dropped in after I had. The nice woman returned and asked if I was ready. I was. I scanned my Breadcrumbs QR code. I then let her know that I was ordering three items. In the past, at any COBS Bread, I'd get my danish pastries in bags. I never enjoyed them being stacked on top of one another. I'd have to peel off one from the other because the filling from the bottom one adhered to the one of top. This place didn't do it. She put all my items in a box. Nice! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked this woman, grabbed my box, and carefully carried it to my car. I then placed it in a reusable bag and drove home. These pastries were amazing. I had the strawberry danish first. It was so fresh. I loved the strawberries. It was so yummy. I need to get another one. My go-to danish is the raspberry and custard danish. I love the tartness of the raspberries mixed in with the most perfect custard, in a yummy danish. Excellent! I had to get a chocolate croissant. I normally do danish pastries only, but I have a weakness for this croissant. It was flaky with the best dark chocolate. It had a light dusting of powdered sugar and dark chocolate drizzle on top. I appreciated that it was slightly sweet. This bakery stands out being fully stocked with baked goods and bread at 4 pm on a Saturday. When I visit the COBS Bread in Aurora on a Saturday at 4 pm, it's slim pickings. I loved my experience here. I'd return for more pastries. I should also get some bread next time. We went with the 6", but it's also nice to know they offer mini cakes for the future for smaller parties! The cake came with a free birthday sign, which was a sweet touch. Taste-wise, the cake was soft, light, and not overly sweet--which I personally prefer. The sweet potato flavour was noticeable but not overpowering. At first, I thought this was Galleria's patisserie counter, but later in my receipt, I noticed it was an independent grocery line item so it may be an independent shop. The first thing my family and I noticed was that the pandan was very aromatic, but not overpowering. The cake and mousse cream didn't have an artificial colour to it, and there was a very nice balance of fruity flavours with the mango compote and coconut graham base. The mango compote was different (texture-wise) but delicious nonetheless! Most importantly, my mom enjoyed it and as "every Asian parent" says, this cake is definitely not too sweet nor heavy, and the portion was great for 4 of us (we got the 5"x3" cake [6 servings]).
