Taro mochi
Stephanie N.

In total we wished to order three cakes. Two big ones and one smaller one. In an ideal world, they are all taro mochi flavoured. Sadly due to company policy, they do not allow any modifications to cakes (decoration wise etc) and pre ordering of the small 4in. ones. We were informed to come on the day of when we pick up our preordered big ones and try out luck and see if they have any small 4in taro mochi. Not quite sure if we liked the attitude given. Lo and behold, we went when they first opened and no small taro mochi. We settled on a small 4in blueberry cheese instead. Overall, the chiffon cake layer is nice and light and the cream layers are decent and not too sweet. The taro flavouring is quite subtle whereas the blueberry cheese is definitely stronger in flavour. I preferred the taro mochi because there are pieces of mochi to give the cake more levels of texture and less one note vibe. I don't think I will come back to get any of the plain flavoured chiffon cream cakes. But if there are toppings or textured bits and bobs inside the cake, I would not mind trying. Also wished there were more pieces of mochi in the cake itself!!

The best cake I've eaten in Toronto was absolutely delicious. The cake base was processed exceptionally well, and the cake was very soft and fluffy. I highly recommend it. so far我喺多倫多食過最好食嘅蛋糕,佢嘅餅底處理得非常出色,蛋糕好鬆軟,高度推薦。

Ugh I really wanted to like this place, I previously ordered a taro mochi cake which they messed up my order, and ended up with their mixed berry yogurt cake which didn't taste good. I tried ordering the taro mochi cake but they said they didn't have. I tried the mango coconut one instead this time. Similar to the other one, the cake isn't super sweet, and chiffon is fluffy. This one was better than the berry one but didn't wow me in any way. The cake is a bit pricey. I think the 6" was around $55 and 4" was $26. I don't think I will order a cake here again.

cheese caramel is genuinely delicious and look really pretty. The cake is soft and the flavor isn't too sweet. Although it's a bit pricey, I sincerely recommend it cheese caramel 真心好食 蛋糕軟熟 味道唔會太甜 仲要個cake都真心靚 影相友好 雖然少貴但都真心推薦 north york居民可以一試

Congratulations on their second location! Their first location is in Richmond hill so I was super happy that they opened a second location much closer to home. They were doing 50% on their "mini cake sets" for the first 60 people. Sadly I went a bit too late, however they were handing out 50% coupons towards the purchase of their mini cupcake box. I went two days after and picked up their box of mini cupcakes. Super friendly staff, their packaging was absolutely amazing and the cupcakes were too pretty to eat. Flavors included, cherry olvatine, oreo, strawberry, taro mochi, Hokkaido cheese caramel, soy milk black sesame. All cakes were chiffon based, light, fluffy and best of all it was not overly sweet! Definitely found a place I would come back to next time to order the larger cakes.

We were leaving the mall and somehow found ourselves peering in the case looking at all the scrumptious desserts. We didn't need anything; however, that didn't stop us. The coffee was smooth, the baked goods looked divine and they kept trying to convince you to buy more right until you left the booth. Welcoming environment, friendly staff, thank goodness I was full, otherwise, I would have kept spending.

The store is located next to mall entrance 4. There is plenty of parking in the evening during weekdays. The storefront is beautiful. I was mesmerized by how gorgeous it looked the first time and still feel the same way. If you are feeling fancy, you can order a latte with a printed design on top. Their coffee machine has different designs to choose from. I also like that you can get dairy-free options in your latte, such as oat or almond beverage. I loved my latte. It had a touch of sugar, which I appreciated. It tasted yummy and hit the spot. This dessert place is known for making sweet sushi. It looks like sushi, but in dessert form. It takes three days to make one sweet sushi roll. It looked like a lot of work to put it together. I have had the Oreo sushi. It was sweet, but not to the point where I felt that my teeth were disintegrating in front of me. I loved how soft the interior was and how nicely it held together by the chocolate exterior coating. Yummy! What brings me back to this store is the fine assortment of desserts. The store also has sugar-free options that I dig. I've had the following items so far: - Lemon macaron - Lemon tart - Cake pop (sugar-free) - Magnum filled with mousse The lemon macaron was awesome. I love tart lemon and this macaron had it. The lemon tart was equally as tart (pun unintended, but it's kind of funny that it should be) and delicious. It had more crust than I would have liked, though. I'm more of a filling person. Delicious nonetheless! The cake pop was moist and yummy. It was the right portion size, except that I wanted five more of them. It was delicious. The magnum was super delicate. I loved the white chocolate on the outside and the decadent mousse inside. It was a bit heavy that I couldn't hold it by the stick and eat it. All of these goodies were not overly sweet. It felt decadent eating each dessert item. It was nice treating myself to these goodies. I will give a croissant a try next time. There's so much to check out, including cakes and cheesecakes. Staff are warm and helpful. I love that they describe each dessert item that I'm curious about with so much passion. I'll be back again for more. (326)

The online ordering process is smooth and convenient, and the final product genuinely impresses. I'm taking one point off only because it was impossible to reach someone by phone. Communication is email only, which works, but it does feel a bit arms length and takes away from the personal touch you'd expect from a boutique bakery. A quick call option would elevate the whole experience. That said, the pastries and cakes are excellent, and I'd happily order again. Enjoy-Zuk.

The Duo cake is great, not too sweet, and I also learned from this site that it's gluten-free too. They actually have good gluten-free options, given one of my family members is celiac and we do get cakes from here for her. I think at this point I've tried all the cakes on their menu. The pistachio macaron was also good, as expected. The bread is no longer discounted like before, after 7pm it used to be half price I think. It's been like this for a while now, but it's buy one get one half off, which is a bummer since I can't eat that much bread to make it worth it. As much as I do like their cakes and such, I wish they would add more savoury items and have some café lunch options too.

I didn't have an order placed in advance so I walked in with my fingers crossed at ~2:30 pm on a Sunday. I was super lucky they had a few cakes left for walk-ins and chose the Taro Mochi Pork Floss Chiffon cake. It was on the pricier end ($60) but once we ate it.. honestly, one of the best cakes I think I've had in a while. It was so incredibly light, truly "not too sweet" and the mochi was so tasty! Such a unique combo, I don't think I've ever had one like it. My parents, who are really not fans of desserts, thought this cake was delicious. The shop front is small but honestly, served its purpose and the ladies working there were both very nice and quick! I noticed they had a number of cake orders so I'd recommend placing one in advance (not winging it like me) and their cupcakes looked delicious. I will definitely be coming back to try their strawberry chiffon - that caught my eye and wasn't available when I went!

My favourite though, has to be the classic, butter croissant. I picked up a strawberry short cake for a family dinner, and oh my gosh, it was so yummy. The cake was made out of layers of chiffon cake (super light and airy) and a delicious whipped cream with strawberries pieces nestled between the layers. I've only done take out there, but they do have a small area with seating, including space outdoors for warmer months. The service is good, staff are friendly and efficient. Even if there's a line, you're not really waiting that long. The location is easy to get to from Finch Station, but if you're traveling by car, parking may be a bit tough to find, though there is street parking and a paid lot a couple blocks further north by the TTC lot.

The coating was soft and chewy with a generous amount of filling with the kataifi giving a nice crunch. This is definitely a treat.

We stopped by a couple times while in Toronto and while we were impressed initially, realized there were much better elsewhere. I nabbed the last pineapple bun with butter since it seemed highly coveted, as well as a normal pineapple bun. The pineapple bun has great flavor but tended to be a little dry. The butter helped a lot, but the bun without butter lacked the moisture - although maybe it was because we didn't buy it fresh in the morning? The trend with the pineapple bun does seem to be that the bread itself is a little dry but the ones with fillings, such as chasiu or butter, gives it the moisture it needs. The egg tarts were standard. Not bad but nothing special - and not something I would come back for. I also got a wife pastry that was not very good. Price wise, it's definitely a little steep. But it may be worth to not having to drive in poor weather to get to Markham or Richmond Hill. I do recommend coming in the morning while the pastries and buns are still fresh - it does seem to be better during the day versus at night.
