I've been going to Kat for waxing practically since moving to the Bay Area... for about TWENTY YEARS. That should say something by itself. I travel a lot, have been to college and grad school out of town in that time period, and forced to endure some SERIOUS waxing tragedies. And if you have been lucky enough to avoid incompetent people in this department, let me tell you: you're *really* lucky. I've had some extremely painful experiences that make me really appreciate it when someone knows what they're doing. Yanking out body hair is guaranteed to be a *little* painful, but the difference between expertise and incompetence is HUGE when it comes to *how* painful. With a little Advil, I don't have any trouble. And Kat is also flexible--if you're experiencing a lot of pain, she'll adjust, and she can give good advice on how to care for your skin to make sure it hurts less the next time. Kat does a wonderful job, keeps a very clean room, and is efficient without being incompetent. I have never found an esthetician who even comes close to her level of expertise. She offers a wide range of facial treatments, and keeps up with the field as well. And on top of that, she's good company, which is plus for anyone who's yanking the hair out of you for anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour or more. Prices are normal / competitive for the area. The building can be a little hard to find, but there's always been parking when I've gone there. read more

I was looking for an esthetician who could address my aging skin. I'm in my late 50's, and have started to see dryness, age spots, and have lost a lot of elasticity which makes my skin a little saggy. I found Kat next door to my doctors office which is located at 1200 Curtner Ave. My first impression when I walked into her room was very nice! It's decorated beautifully with a very relaxed feeling to it. The facial bed was very comfortable and it was heated which really helped me to relax right away.
