Starting with the warm bread and amazing butter we were amazed. Lindsey and entire team were beyond attentive(sorry I failed to remember other names) never had to ask for more water etc-they noticed! My husband couldn't believe all the lobster in his lobster bisque soup, I loved the tuna sushi appetizer which was a full meal in of itself. Amazing food, attentive service & a cozy spot for dinner! We have tried Kate & Ally's a few times when it was catered but this was our first time dining in. You need to call for a reservation to make sure they're open since they are super busy with catering but they generally have some availability each week! The crab tacos were incredible. I wish I got 100 orders of them. They were the best crab tacos I've ever had! For dinner we had the two of the specials: Short Rib Gnocchi and Seafood Lasagna. They both had so much flavor and were delicious. They also have an extensive dessert menu - we took home a slice of cake which was also off the charts. Can't wait to be back! read more

I have been trying to get into Kate and Ally's for over a year. I called and was able to get a reservation last minute. I have never been so happy that I got this reservation. The food was off the charts. The Service, was also amazing. Very cute little restaurant as well. Everything on the menu sounded incredible and I was going to order the filet mignon with au poivre sauce until they told me they had a halibut special for dinner. Halibut is my favorite fish and needless to say it was prepared in the most delicious sauce. It was in a lemon white wine, butter, caper sauce with fresh tomatoes, and also came with three large jumbo shrimp. It was served with a side of asparagus and roasted potatoes. My boyfriend had the filet mignon in a Gorgonzola crab sauce. He is an incredible griller and he said he couldn't have made that piece of meat any better. It was cooked to perfection. The only thing better was the special we had for an appetizer. It was gnocchi with short ribs. It probably was one of the best things I've ever ate in my life and I'm still dreaming about it. Also, the portions were large that we took so much home, and what I also loved is that the food came out piping hot. I am a big advocate for desserts as I love my sweets, but we were so full... definitely next time. This was one of the best meals I have ever had, and I look forward to hopefully being able to get a reservation again soon. If you can get a reservation, grab it. I highly recommend Kate & Ally's. I was really looking forward to dinner Kate Nelly's as they had catered a number of parties where I used to live in the food was absolutely delicious. So when we arrived (party of six) we were greeted by the hostess - very pleasant. The restaurant is warm and inviting our waitress was very good, friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. She was also very enthusiastic about the food which was a good sign. We started out with ordering several appetizers, which were very good. I decided to order one of the specials- the pork chop Milanese. It was a large piece of breaded boneless pork with arugula, tomatoes, and possibly cheese laying on top basically it was a salad plopped on top of the pork so salad actually made the pork mushy and it was like putting cold on hot- not at all appetizing. In fact, I took two bites and was done- terrible! when the waitress came around to collect the plates, I told her to take it away. She never asked me what was wrong with it so I paid $44? For a meal I didn't eat. Dessert was very good however, the cappuccino was delivered to the wrong person, and it was supposed to be decaf the other cappuccino with regular coffee. Thus one of the cappuccinos went untouched as my friend did not feel comfortable that it was in fact decaf. Portion sizes good, nice service, somewhat overpriced - food mediocre at best. By the time our entrees came we were already full! But we soldiered on. I got the short rib gnocchi. My wife got the filet with some kind of crab sauce on top. Both were excellent. The meats were insanely tender. And very generous portions. Piping hot, and melts in your mouth. Absolutely delicious. Food and service is amazing here. My husband was born and raised in Point Pleasant so he has always had the best and freshest seafood one could ask for. Wow! This was the best meal I've had in a very long time. The service was great. Our waitress was super attentive but also not overbearing. We ordered the carpaccio and burrata for our appetizers and both were knockouts. For our mains we shared the steak and the chicken dishes. We had our wedding in August 2023 at Kate & Ally's. They did a magnificent job making sure our wedding was exactly what we wanted. Lauren was our planner and she ensured we had everything we wanted and kept everything moving without a hitch! Our guests LOVED the food! and a few have been back for dinner since. Kate & Ally's sent Lindsey to set up an hour prior to our event and provided everything we needed including paper products, utensils, serving trays and ladles, even coffee and tea station. The only thing that disappointed was I felt that they should've provided a couple of extra pieces of chicken just to be on the safe side. This is only based on how lovely they have their outside dining set up. During these crazy Covid times and how the Gov'ner hasn't opened up inside dining yet, we are seeing more restaurants striving to open by having outside dining. Some are doing it right - and this place is. Seriously, I comment to everyone about how cute they have it set up with the lights, plants, trellis landscape happening right there on busy Rt 9 and sitting there you probably don't even give it a second look cause they expertly place high hedges along the perimeter. We both had the She crab soup which hands down was the best I've ever had in decades it was perfection - warm bread and herb butter to accompany the soup and then a side salad with home made croutons that were so flavorful (it's the little things) next up was shrimp with crabmeat which was so fresh and tasty delicious crabmeat on top of beautiful fresh shrimp - keyword delicious and fresh fresh fresh- home made mashed potatoes were delicious too- my husband had the most fantastic tender delicious strip steak of his life and was thrilled. Apple crisp and home made ice cream for dessert - it was the best for sure and we are already going back and simply cannot wait. Inside decor was also warm and inviting! I used them to cater for a small Christmas party at my home. The owner was not very interested in my business and took two days to call me back. I asked to meet with them to go over the menu, which they agreed to but it was obvious that they considered it beneath them to bother. They never contacted me before the party to confirm, and did not seem to take it seriously when I told them I had a guest with a nut allergy. They showed up early on the day of the party, but the young man was good setting up. The cheese platter consisted of a bunch of cheese cubes, all of which tasted the same. The food was ok, not great. Anniversary party of nine. The food was very good, as expected. It's BYOB, which is nice, but we weren't offered beer glasses or ice. The filet was awesome, but not cooked medium....very rare. For an added $5.00, I had about a tablespoon of crab sprinkled on. Was told I could not bring a cake for the celebration. Ok. Looked for a dessert menu or coffee...nope. Had to go in search of waitress to pay the bill. Everyone did enjoy their food and appetizers. Nice setting by their fireplace. Only mention the above petty peeves so the owners might address them for future clientele. All in all, a nice family dinner. $$$$ read more

Just the best in the area. Great food and great service. We have eaten in and had takeout and they never fail. The best lamb chops ever.

We were a party of 10 for a friend's birthday and my biggest regret is that we live 60 miles away. Otherwise I could see my self coming back here again and again. Service is great! The food was up there too. I had the short rib over spinach and it was delicious. My wife absolutely loved her seafood stew cioppino. For our meals this place would be a 5 but it was noted that the person ordering the steak said it was kind of dry and that the short rib over fettuccini was drenched in a way too thick and creamy alfedo sauce as was the seafood lasagna. My friend who ordered the pasta carbonara raved about it. Everybody seemed to love their appetizers and soups and we did have a wide variety of these items. This is our third visit to this restaurant and each time we had excellent food and service. We made reservations for the eary dining. The ceaser salad was crisp and seasoned just right. Crab soup was creamy with enough crab to signature it as authentic. The beef short ribs with gnocci were fork tender and enough for two meals. Dessert was a choice of chocolate cake or homemade bread pudding. i chose the bread pudding and was pleasantly rewarded with a unique apple and delicate syrup laced pudding that blended perfectly. We had a nice selection of coffee or tea to end a perfect meal. I always pay attention to the type and quality of bread served with the meal, and this bread was hot and crusty served with a flavorabe herb butter, an accompanying delight. Its this attention to details that puts this restaurant into a higher category. The waitstaff service was attentive but not intrusive. The one negative was our table next to the window with the setting sun reflecting through the blinds. Next time we will request a table by the inside wall. BYOB read more
