Nice park with decent (not particularly memorable) playground equipment. The part of the playground that really stands out is the treehouse. Best for older kids since you do lose sight of them when they're inside (made me a bit nervous with my 3.5 year old). Additionally, this park has a homestead. Really cool. You can wander around and see all the structures. The inside can be viewed via tour only. However, they are nice enough to leave one window open so you can peek inside. Had no issue snagging street parking nearby. read more

This review is based on the "Trunk-or-Treat" event held on 10/31/2023. This park is located in a nice neighborhood and we were able to find parking quite easily on a nearby street. This event was held in the parking lot of the park and tons of people showed up. In one of the buildings nearby, there was an area set up for free photos, complete with a professional photographer. I use this park all the time to go run, walk my dog, and take my bike on all the trails. There is a big open field where you can take your dog to go run around. The park has been kept up real nicely and not much trash I have seen on the trail. They have a wide variety of activities you can partake in. The trails that you could go on are kept up well. They also have a neighborhood pool. A great park to spend the afternoon and take the kids. read more

We checked out this park this morning and it was really nice. Parking was easy enough and there were gender-neutral bathrooms. The park has a pretty epic-looking pool area, a homestead that features old-style buildings of the era, and a few walking trails. The central path surrounds a flood basin but notices are posted around it. The area is pretty calm and quiet so that was a definite plus. read more

As a runner, I am always looking for great places to get in a workout that also get me off the streets & sidewalks, with an opportunity for a variety of terrain & natural surroundings, with the potential for interaction with friendly neighbors. Katherine Fleischer Park (KFP) in Wells Branch (north side of Austin, adjacent to Pflugerville & Round Rock on the West side of IH35, open daily 5a-10p) gives us entry to 6 miles of trails http://wellsbranchmud.com/images/WellsBranchTrailmap1.pdf, water features, interesting plants & critters, and happy humans of all kinds enjoying the outdoors. If you aren't into trails, there are still many options of interest at KFP. The kiddos have a fabulous wooden playhouse and shaded playscape. The swimmers have a pool for competition and leisure. The soccer players have a couple of big fields for play. The tennis players have a couple of courts for their pleasure. The history buffs get an historic 1855 pioneer homestead exhibit. Party planners (even those who live outside of the Wells Branch MUD) can rent the pavillion, community center, rec center meeting room, or pool facilities. This is such a nice park complete with pools, grills, chess table, a clubhouse, walking trails, restrooms, even a neat treehouse which my son loves! The trails have got to be my favorite. They go all around the park, through the woods, by the pool, and everywhere else. There are stairs involved in the trail but if that's not your thing you can skip the stairs and use the good ole trail. They hold a lot of FREE events here so be sure to keep an eye out! read more

Hey Tracey! I know you've been trying to hang out in the great outdoors more, especially now that it's spring, and getting darker later. Have you heard of Kathy Fleischer Park in Wells Branch? It's not that far from you, I think. Sure, it's owned by the Wells Branch Municipal Utility District, but I've heard several sources call it "...the jewel of the Wells Branch neighborhood." I know neither of us have kids, but there is a pretty cool shaded playground, with all the requisite swings, slides, and climby stuff to tucker out the little ones while moms gossip nearby. There's a nice pool that's usually pretty busy in the warm months, and often hosts way-too-intense kids in some sort of swimming league. And there's fields where folks play soccer, do yoga or some sort of crossfit-type stuff, fly kites, and whatever the heck else you'd do with a pair of football-sized fields. There's always folks playing hoops, tennis, and sand volleyball. But the trails are where it's at. Nice and wide, and mostly very level, with cute little bridges here and there, and little lantern light fixtures that come on at dark, and make things much brighter than you might expect. You can walk, jog, or bike there easily, and develop short or multi-mile routes. I prefer a loop north that goes by the duck pond (hey, watch out for the geese). South takes you across Wells Branch Parkway, and gets a little more, errrrr... isolated than some folks are comfortable with, when you get to where the "disc golf course" is. But they did to a good job of connecting neighborhoods and maximizing the easy of use for many folks. And it's really a diverse set of folks using the trails, so the people watching distracts me while I'm gasping for breath. Maybe we could do some jogging here before it gets too godawfully hot? I like to start at this park, cause it's kind of central to the area trails, and has the best parking. Yeah, let me know! read more

What a great little neighborhood park. We dropped by for our grandniece's birthday party, and we were very impressed with the size of this park, its wide variety of facilities and its general state of cleanliness. This park has picnic areas, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a recreation building, a playground--and even a rustic farmhouse! There's also a large field suitable for football or soccer. This appears to be the community's flood catchment system in case of emergency, thus turning something utilitarian into something useful and beautiful. Katherine Fleischer Park is the jewel of the Wells Branch neighborhood. It is a large park that has several gazebos, a large heavily shaded playground, giant playhouse, pool, soccer field, volleyball courts, tennis courts (that double as basketball), baseball field. . . you name it, this park probably has it. It also has the original homestead and some signs explaining the history of Wells Branch. I often see school buses parked out front while school children take tours of the well maintained gardens. Kinda a neat little dose of Austin/Texas history. It is well integrated with the trails that go through the Wells Branch neighborhood, and includes trails to get to the frisbee golf course (called Wells Branch Park on yelp), the Wells Branch library and Mills Pond. It is a great place to have parties, large gatherings and ball games. You can rent out the community center for a small fee and it has a lovely courtyard that connects it to the playground. The Wells Branch MUD does a great job maintaining the park so it's always a pleasure to visit. read more

So...where to begin. Fisrt time were here it was for the 4th festival. It blew my mind. I loved it and I could not wait to come back after that 4th hype was all over.. We did. A couple times now!! It has been so wonderful having a nice park to go to. The playhouse is amazing fun for the kids.. And yes I got in too. So awesome inside!! Is it for adults?? Well, not really... Lol. But hey. It was fun I had to see what it was like. The park itself is so shady its ridiculous. Plenty of lounging areas in the center of the playground d and around it as well. A beautiful area... And they have pool in "splashing distance" :-) $5 per person. Not bad. Not crowded either. Most of the people I've seen are decent and happy go lucky.. Occasionally there are some others I wish would change their ways a bit... I don't care to hear rap music blasting out of a phone...especially while kiddos are playing nearby.. Just saying. Ear buds. One of my favorite parks.. I've used this park for so many things... family photos.. exercise. . Flying kites. .soccer. . Playground. . Its a beautiful place in the early hours or evening around sunset or sunrise. .. There are many parts of the park that go through neighborhoods.. i recently followed the trail and found a pond and another jogging area that surrounds it.. now with the pond view i mainly jog around the pond.. but overall nice park for anyone. read more

Beautiful park! The space encompasses a large walking loop, tennis courts, a sand volleyball net, basketball hoops, and swimming pool. The area seems well kept which is a nice perk. I had a baby in March and just transitioned into stay-at-home Momma mode. So my new job is taking the baby and the stroller and exploring all the parks/walking trails in the Austin area. AKA- I have to get out of the house! This park was awesome. I easily parked (lots of shady spots) and popped baby in the stroller and hit the trail. If you park at this address, you can take the trail left or right. If you go left, you will see the playground, the adorable little house, the pool, the community center and sports fields. I took tons of mental notes on how awesome the actual playground is for when baby is a bit older. The play aspect of this park looked awesome! There were also a TON of kids. It seemed like a great neighborhood park. As far as the trails, the majority of it is gravel. I do not have a sporty stroller by any means and it handled it just fine. The trail is really pretty and kept up well as far as landscaping and cleanliness! There are benches, picnic tables, and wooden bench swings along the whole trail. I ended up at Mills Pond Lake Park which was a pleasant surprise. I have been on that trail as well and did not realize they connected. This park and the trails that go with it have a lot of awesome details and little gems to explore. Next time I will go the opposite way and see where that trail leads! read more

This is a solid park that's super close to our new place. I love that I can jog from K Fleisch. to Mill's Pond. Also, parts of the trail (within K Fleisher as far as I can tell) are lit at night, which is good, if you like roaming around parks after dark (not me, but it was just barely dark the other day when we left and there were lots of neighborhood peeps there, so it felt decently safe). Nice trails that are soft on the feet when running. People thankfully seem to keep their dogs on leash here, as they should. Lots of trash cans and poop bags and well manicured fields. We haven't yet used the facilities like the tennis courts, bball court, or pool, but they look great! I think this will be our regular spot to get outdoorsy close to home. read more

This park is seriously fantastic. Of course, it helped that we had perfect weather. But I was in awe. There's a large play area with the standard equipment (swings, monkey bars, etc). But what sets it apart is the huge wooden playhouse with the spiral staircase! It's like something out of a fairy tale. There's also a large open area (great for soccer or kite flying) and there are walking trails and restrooms. read more

A hidden gem in the Wells Branch Area. Sand volleyball, gazebos, pool, fields, tennis courts, and basketball courts (although sometimes they are locked-not sure why). They also have a running trail that goes through and around the park area. Friday nights tend to be the best volleyball nights. They also have many festivals during the year, like for the 4th of July, and even a Pioneer Festival, where they open up an old cabin and have a longhorn on site. Great community. read more

A great neighborhood park in Wells Branch that is a must visit on cuteness alone due to the wooden, multiple storied playhouse. My little one worn a costume and pretended to live in the "castle." The only reason why we don't frequent it more is because it's in almost full sun in the morning. I can deal with the heat, but not direct sunlight. Also, it's a little ways out for us. They have restrooms on site, both small and large playscapes, swings and that glorious playhouse. Watch out for the squirrels... they can get a little too close for comfort and don't respect personal space when there is food out. read more

This is a very nice park. There are well kept, wide paths that are stroller friendly. They have plenty for kids to do. There are lots of swings, a castle, an 1800s homestead with homesteaders, baseball, basketball and soccer areas. There's lots of green grass and a pool. The Wells Branch Neighborhood is connected along a greenbelt with 6 miles hike and bike trails. The trail allows access to the recreation center, Willow Bend pool, soccer fields, Mills Pond, Katherine Fleischer Park, the disc golf course. The trail is open 5am to 10pm daily. We had an awesome time at this park! It has a ton of slides and a great "zip line" swing you can slide across. If you bring bread you can also feed the ducks that are at the pond right by this park. Also a soccer ball is fun too. There's many options and it's about 50/50 shaded from the sun. read more

This park is wonderful! We love living in Wells Branch because of the access to several REALLY cool parks, wildlife, pools, and the lake/trails. This park in particular is so great for kids; the playscape is large and fun for all ages, there are several fields for soccer and baseball, great running trails, a beautiful pool and kiddie pool area, tons of trees! During the holidays it's especially magically to live near here, special park events for 4th of July, Christmas, Easter... Great family area! read more

Enjoyed a picnic and lazy afternoon here. Between a well made/interesting kids park and the large field, the kids stayed entertained for hours while my friends and I enjoyed a picnic. The Tree House makes the park unique. It would be nice if they placed more picnic tables and seating areas for parents. read more
