Long story…read moreshort...had a checkup in July and requested a biometric screening which counted as $400 toward my annual HSA funds that we have to earn with these kinds of activities. I told her that I would need a form filled out and submitted. We took the form to her in September. It was due 10/31. It was never filled out or submitted. We called on 11/1 to see if we could come pick it up and didn't receive a return call. Called again, again, and again. Finally got in touch with her PA and he said that it was just waiting on her signature. We're having to file an appeal which is due 11/15 with HR because the original 10/31 deadline was missed. We went to her office today and stood in the hallway for 90 minutes. She was aware that we were waiting. I saw her go into the receptionist area and hand someone some paperwork and she quickly exited, back to her office. We never got our form, so I'm losing $400 from my annual HSA funds. We actually have audio of our discussion with her PA stating that even he thinks this situation is absurd. This isn't a case of us giving her something at the last minute. And when someone knows you've made a trip to get something that only requires a signature, and they wait for 90 minutes, and you still refuse to do it. That just makes you an absolutely AWFUL practitioner. And makes me wonder what else she simply can't be bothered to care about. I don't know if we have legal recourse (like small claims court or something) but I'll be doing whatever I can.

Outside of that, the staff's super friendly, the facility was clean and easy to find, and parking wasn't an issue.

Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff and overall communication has become increasingly disappointing over the past few years. I am not someone who typically leaves negative reviews, and I have overlooked previous issues because of how much I respect and appreciate Dr. Okoro. However, there comes a point when repeated poor communication and a lack of consideration for a patient's time can no longer be overlooked. Today was ultimately that point for me. I had a virtual appointment scheduled for 11:20 a.m. By 11:30, I had received no link or communication, so I reached out to the office myself. I was told that Dr. Okoro was running behind, which I completely understood. Doctors run behind, emergencies happen, and schedules change. My issue was not the delay--it was the lack of communication that followed. I continued waiting with no link and no proactive update from the office. By after 12:00 p.m., I still had not received anything. Had I not contacted the office myself, I have no idea how long I would have continued waiting. I was eventually contacted about changing my appointment, but at that point I chose to cancel. I have a professional schedule, meetings, responsibilities, and commitments just like everyone else. A patient's time should be respected as well. What makes this especially disappointing is that this was not an isolated incident. I have experienced similar communication and scheduling issues before, and even people I have referred to the practice have expressed similar concerns. When I first became a patient years ago, the office was smaller and the communication was excellent. I cannot speak to what has changed operationally, whether it is scheduling, staffing, or patient volume, but the difference has been noticeable. After several years of trying to overlook these issues because I genuinely love my doctor, I have finally made the difficult decision to find a new primary care physician. That is unfortunate because Dr. Okoro is truly a wonderful doctor, and leaving her care is not something I wanted to do. I would still highly recommend Dr. Okoro based on her ability, bedside manner, and the care she personally provides. However, prospective patients should be mindful that communication and scheduling consistency with the office staff have been an ongoing concern in my experience. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively because an outstanding physician deserves an office experience that reflects the same level of professionalism and care that she personally provides.

We watched her children grow up from diapers to young adults. However, we finally gave up with her as our doctor due to the incompetence of her front office staff. They could never spell my last name. NEVER...not in all of the years that we went there. Then, there was the fact that they were extremely rude. And good luck with scheduling appointments! Whenever we called to schedule an appointment, they sounded as if they were half asleep. ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. Plus, sleepy-time staff couldn't or wouldn't listen. In fact, they refused to listen at all. Each & every time it was the exact same scenario of the office staff being half asleep and/or unable to listen to the patient. Listening is a skill. If the front office staff cannot listen to the patient, they cannot do their job properly. I would try to use humor to jolt them back to reality with a comment about their needing another cup of coffee in order to wake up and they would simply hang up the phone in my face! After they hang up like teen-aged mean girls, I would have to call back...but, at least they sounded awake. But, you still had to force them to listen. ARE YOU LISTENING? I would ask. It takes four "ladies" of the front office staff to schedule an appt for Zavodny! FOUR! All four "ladies" of the front office staff have a bad attitude towards senior citizens. I am a senior citizen & I was afraid to go to this office alone. It became so bad that my husband began going with me so that the front office staff would be respectful. THEY WERE ALL RUDE WITH MAJOR ATTITUDE! ESPECIALLY BARBARA! Also, I waited two weeks just to get the doctor's medical assistant, Jennifer, to call me back with my test results. I called and left messages but, she was extremely lax in returning calls. Don't worry about your insurance being filed quickly. That is the #1 priority of the front office staff. Apparently, Barbara had already deleted the message for Donna. When my husband asked to speak with Dr. Z or Donna, Barbara refused!!!! Barbara doesn't want Dr. Z to find out what's really going on behind her back. Are they liars on top of everything else? How do they explain to the doctors why the patients are leaving this practice? They must be keeping their rudeness & incompetence hidden away from the doctors' notice. Patients aren't allowed to give ANY FEEDBACK directly to the doctor. Dr. Zavodny must be unaware of her front office staff sabotaging her practice b/c the front office staff is running the show! They cover for each other's bad behavior. The front office staff is in control of all information with zero oversight.
