Difficult office staff, wouldn't it be nice if you had a health concern if people were helpful and pleasant

On our first visit Dr Zashin listened intently to a long list of my symptoms and ran extensive testing.

I called to make an appointment for myself. I asked the receptionist if there was a way where I…read morecould send my referral through a secure email. I explained that my primary care physician does not have access to send faxes. She cut me off and said "well, you'll just need to wait" I explained again my PCP does not have fax access. And once again she told me to "well you'll just have to wait it out" I asked if there was someone else who I could speak to and she said she was the only one in office, she called herself the Lead MA. Again I asked, as the lead MA if she could help me and she said no. I called back again to get her name, Eunice. Very disrespectful and lack of professionalism. Now I wondering how many patients had this office lost due to this behaviour. She needs to be removed immediately from her position. New staff renovation is very much needed for this office. I tried leaving this review on their google website but it seems they deleted it

I had a rheumatology appointment on January 21, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. The front desk staff and intake…read morewere kind, but once Dr. Banerjee arrived around 4:10 p.m., the experience turned negative. She asked me why I was there, I told her it was for a follow up on the labs she ordered in our initial meeting but that a lot had happened since we last met. I updated her on new diagnoses from Mayo Clinic, including fibromyalgia. She claimed EDS patients "cannot" have fibromyalgia and dismissed Mayo's assessment. She said Mayo Clinic doctors were not God. She insulted the Mayo doctor (EDS expert at EDS clinic), saying they were "probably not a doctor, just a nurse or someone's wife" and "knew nothing.". She told me she wouldn't see me again and that I had "nothing." She also stated that she would tell my PCP to never run ANA labs on me again. When I told her I don't understand why she was aggressive she said I was aggressive; I simply stated my medical history and offered to show her clinical notes with diagnosis with rationale and how I met the diagnosis criteria but she refused to look at them. I was out of the office by 4:17. No patient deserves this treatment. Others need to know this behavior is unacceptable. Complaints were made.

I have been trying to locate a referral sent for one of the doctors within Rheumatology Associates…read morefrom my primary care doctor. Every office in Dallas has their appointments made from ONE LINE! It is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone no matter which option you choose. HOWEVER, there was one exception, Anahi, answered the phone for the option of new patients. She was very kind and patient and tried every effort to get a hold of the person in charge of referrals. I'm very anxious to see this doctor because I'm in so much pain. I'm so grateful that Anahi cared enough to take the time to help me.

If I could give this practice a negative review, I would. The staff is amazing, but the doctors…read morefelt cold and callous. I'm a 20-year cancer survivor who, over the last four years, has experienced a range of troubling symptoms: recurring scalp sores, chronic itching, hair loss, exhaustion, and more. Before seeing Dr. Iqbal, I had already seen my PCP, a dermatologist, an endocrinologist, a liver specialist, a kidney specialist, and an allergist - none of whom could help. I called the clinic directly for my bloodwork results, since I was seeing my dermatologist in between visits to this office, and they refused to release my own results to me. After I left a detailed message explaining that I was already at the dermatologist and didn't want to repeat bloodwork or come back in if there was nothing more they could do, they called back and told me, "Yes, the doctor wants to see you right away to discuss treatment paths." That, understandably, stopped me in my tracks. I spent the next four days both stressing over what could be causing these symptoms and hoping I'd finally get answers. I saw Dr. Iqbal today. He told me all my markers were normal and that he couldn't help me. Given his lack of bedside manner, I asked him where he would send a loved one in my situation. He muttered, "Go back to dermatology." This is not the person you want treating someone you love. Zero compassion, appointment-driven, and money-focused. Please take your business elsewhere.

I visited Rheumatology Associates on Walnut Hill Lane Suite 800, earlier this year, for my back…read morepain. I saw Dr. Lakanpal, and let him know that I had a fall a couple years ago, and I wanted to have x-rays to find out if perhaps I had damaged my back in the fall. Dr. Lakanpal orderd over $500 worth of tests including bloodwork, tests for Lupus, x-rays, and urine analysis. I was told by his staff that these tests were just "standard" and that my bill wouldn't be more than $150 or so. When I was billed almost $500, I was completely blindsided. After all the testing, he told that me I was completely normal and that nothing was wrong with my back except maybe some inflammation. He prescribed me a $5.00 prescription for an anti inflammatory to help ease the pain which he said was a "standard prescription" and then sent me on my way. Once I received his diagnosis, I questioned why it took $500 worth of tests, to prescribe a fairly benign and "standard" treatment? Here's my complaint with this doctor and this office: I feel that Dr. Lakanpal at Rheumatology Associates ordered a lot of unnecessary tests that had nothing to do with what I originally stated was my concern. I usually have really high regard for doctors, but in this case, it was clear to me that he was just out to make money by racking up a lot of tests that ended up telling me nothing about what was causing my back pain. I ended up going to a different doctor for a second opinion, and that doctor diagnosed me with sacrolitis and ordered physical therapy which has improved my condition dramatically. I haven't had to take any of th e anti inflammatory meds that Lakanpal prescribed. Bottom line: I don't feel that Rheumatology Associates is ethical at all. I feel their doctors just order tests for the sake of making money. If you are not smart about it, ask a lot of questions and turn down some of their services and tests, you might end up incurring medical bills that are over the top. I complained a number of times--even wrote multiple ceritifed letters to their management to refute the bill, and they never responded. Nobody ever called me back. Rheumatology Associates gives the medical profession a bad name. You would be better off going to a doctor who actually conducts their business with integrity and isn't just treating you as a cash cow.
