I am getting emotional just thinking about what to write in this review. Kathy is the best type of human who also happens to be an incredibly talented photographer. I want her to be my friend, my sister, and sometimes even my mom. She is truly that special and caring. Kathy made our wedding day beyond amazing! I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid in a wedding that Kathy shot last summer. I was able to see her work for 8+ hours that day and knew I really liked her at that point. Once I saw the gallery from that wedding, I knew I HAD to have her for my wedding. During our initial meeting with her, my husband knew exactly why I wanted her to shoot our wedding. Her passion and talent are unmatched! When she arrived on our big day, she immediately lit up the room and everyone could feel her energy. Her assistant Gabby and she got to work immediately taking detail photos, dress photos, getting ready photos. One of my bridesmaids commented "wow...she is really good" after about 5 minutes of seeing her work. She is incredibly creative and makes everyone feel special and beautiful! Kathy is EVERYTHING! This review is long overdue as I had the good fortune of meeting Kathy about a decade ago when she did a dance-inspired shoot for my best friend. The images were breathtaking; she was able to capture the spirit of my friend - elegance and fierceness all at the same time, and had the foresight to do it against the backdrop of this exquisite abandoned warehouse in downtown LA. Fast forward to more recent times where she's shot my best friend's wedding, and, we've had the privilege of having her shoot for us as a family. Kathy is PHENOMENAL. Hire her NOW, you absolutely will not regret it. I will recommend her 1000000x over to any and everyone I know who needs photos taken or is getting married. From our first zoom meeting, to our engagement shoot to our wedding day she has continued to impress us. We love that Kathy is the perfect combo of type A organized (checking her shot list, keeping an eye on time, has a plan), chill and FAST. We also love how dedicated and detail oriented she is, I'll never forget how she told us that she'll sometimes photoshop out things in photos. She's also SO quick with email, always responding with 24 hours which was so appreciated. I never felt like I had to chase her or send follow up emails like I did with some of our other vendors. For our engagement shoot we shot in 6 different locations within a 6 block radius in 2 hours and not once did we feel rushed or like we were running out of time. On our wedding day it was the same - Kathy had a plan, but she was also great on the fly and flexible when we had told her we also wanted to get certain shots. She got the shots and more! She's also has the most easy going, friendly personality that instantly puts you at ease especially my husband who isn't comfortable in front of a camera. And she directs you in a way that feels natural. She's also THE BEST hype woman, really making you feel awesome, beautiful/handsome and like a rockstar as she snaps photos of you. Something that I really love that she does is periodically show you what she's shooting - it gets you excited and gives you a glimpse of what she's shooting, which makes you feel really great and confident with what she's doing. Kathy was also great about checking in on us as well. Making sure we were doing ok and hydrated. There was a point when certain people were late to take photos that made me a little anxious about timing and getting all the photos we wanted done, but very quickly Kathy pivoted, got other shots and before I knew it we had taken all the photos I wanted before the ceremony began. This allowed us to enjoy the whole cocktail hour with our friends/family like we hoped. She even sent us some sneak peak photos just 3 days after the wedding and we're already in awe. I completely didn't realize until now that we had not reviewed the wonder that is Kathy since I still keep up with all her work to this day! It's been almost a year and looking back at our wedding photos, I don't even know where to start. :) From the beginning, Kathy was so easygoing and so accommodating of our situation. We lost our original photographer about a month before the wedding so you can say we were a little panicked. After looking at the suggestions our coordinator had sent, Kathy's photos definitely stood out for us, she was very much our style. Kathy did some head shots for my website, and I am extremely happy with the outcome!! First of all, I couldn't have been more comfortable in front of the camera with Kathy directing me. I am normally super shy and awkward in front of the camera, but she really helped me feel relaxed. I also appreciate her creativity - she doesn't do just the "standard" type of head shot. It seems like she really brought out my personality in my head shots, which was exactly what I wanted. She kept us on tract during our engagement shoot setting at least 15 timers to make sure we would hit all of our spots in a timely manner. Kathy is truly the best in the business! We had a small ceremony close to Long Beach and even though it was small, we wanted to capture the moment with the best possible photographer. We checked out a couple of options but after seeing Kathy's work our mind was made up. Aside from the amazing shots of us in the moment ,she was so good at setting up the family photos, and especially the photos of just my wife and I. The photos of us were amazing, but one thing I also look at is the photos of others. She captured some amazing shots of our family and friends that they have put up in their house, which is also what we wanted! We didn't have to tell her to take certain shots. Kathy is the absolute best! My husband and I used Kathy as our wedding photographer, and from the moment we "met" her over Facetime we knew she was the photographer for us. For the entire process of planning our wedding, Kathy was there for us as so much more than just a photographer. She always went above and beyond in every step of the process and I started to turn to her for much more than I probably should of, and Kathy being as sweet as she is, never complained. She helped us with our timeline for the day of, sat on any phone call I needed her to be on, was always available for in-person meetings for us when we were in town (we live out of town). I know she has other clients, but she always made us feel like we were her only couple and her enthusiasm was contagious. On the day of, she was amazing and by the end of the day other vendors and guest leaned on her for questions over our coordinator. The icing on the cake of course was the pictures turned out beautiful and she sent them earlier than promised. Overall, if I could give Kathy 10 stars I would. She was by far our favorite vendor and was a huge part of making our day perfect! read more

Where do I even start?! Her photos are gorgeous and she has such an eye for locations, angles and all of the details. The editing is spot on and her photos make you feel like the best version of yourself. Beyond her spectacular skills, Kathy is organized, attentive and dependable. She flawlessly balances what the bride/groom want with all of the family member asks and does so with such respect and grace. She is so open to your vision and making sure that she is giving you what you want but at the same time provides such sound advice and direction. Kathy makes you feel SO calm during the entire process--from the moment you hire her to your wedding day. Even more, she is a super cool person that you want to be friends with. Seriously could not have asked for a better person to capture our wedding - we are DYING to get all of the photos after seeing the sneak peeks.
