I had the pleasure of seeing Katie's work for the first time during a wedding in Florida. Even though the weather didn't cooperate that weekend (thank you Tropical Storm Debby), the pictures from the event turned out AMAZING! The colors and composure of the shots really stood out! Not only does Katie take great wedding photos, but have you seen her ballet shots? Apparently she got her start taking ballet pictures...who knew?! Going through the dance pictures in her portfolio, I really appreciated the contrast of gritty against grace on her subjects. My family has used Katie Ging Photography for all of our professional photos for the past 8 years so naturally she was my first choice to photograph my engagement photos and wedding! Katie Ging is a very talented photographer. I am fortunate to know her as a friend, but her quality of her work speaks for itself. I had both my engagement and wedding pictures taken by her. My wife and I have worked with Katie a multitude of times. She is an amazing dance photographer, and because she trained as a ballet dancer she knows what looks good in terms of lines and catching the "right moments". She is amazing at both the still dance photograph and performance shots. She also takes wonderful children and family pictures. She has a way of capturing the kids so they look so natural. Katie Ging does amazing work. There is no shortage of photographers out there, especially when it comes to photographers who specialize in newborn baby photos. After pouring through portfolio after portfolio to find the perfect photographer to capture our little guy's first days, we decided to go with Katie Ging, and what a fantastic choice it was. My little guy is a preemie and only 7 weeks old (adjusted age - 38 weeks) when we had his photo session. Katie was wonderful with him. She was very comfortable photographing him and did a great job of finding creative poses for a little baby with limited ability (and by that I mean, he couldn't sit up or even hold his head up yet). Katie had a great variety of props and used them to come up with some very cute and creative poses. The photo session was so much fun! I didn't want it to be over. I was even more pleased when I got the photos. They were amazing, and flipping through them, each one was better than the last! I printed so many of them because I couldn't decide which I liked best - wallets, 5x7s, 8x10s and large canvas prints for the living room. I could not be happier with the photos of my special little guy. I was a tough customer - my little guy had just spent 5 weeks in the NICU, and shortly after the shoot he was back in the NICU for 2 more weeks. These photographs were very special to me, and they HAD to be perfect. Katie did not disappoint. I could not have asked for better photos of my special little guy. I immediately booked his 6 month and one-year photo sessions, and I cannot wait to see what Katie has in store for our next shoot in June! read more

Katie's photography is remarkable. I first worked with her about 2 years ago on some headshots/ dance shots, and was so pleased with how they all came out! When she moved here to Long Beach, i was thrilled and immediately contacted her to use her again. She really know's how to make a model feel comfortable when getting photographed. SO, not only do the pictures turn out amazing, but you really will have a fun and easy time when getting them taken. Talk about a hidden gem. My sister used Katie for her wedding/engagement pictures and what a great job she did. I'm not big on artsy stuff but all of her photos came out wonderful and the wedding album was truly spectacular. I've never seen an album so beautiful, professional and unique. It had a gorgeous glass or crystal cover on it that was just really eye catching. Katie was professional, kind and fun to be around throughout the wedding. Highly Recommended. read more

Katie Ging always manages to capture the true essence of her subject. There is always at least one picture from a session or event that extraordinarily expresses the feeling of that moment. The entire experience is great. She gives the perfect amount of feedback and guidance to get great shots, while still allowing you to be yourself. I also love her cropping and framing techniques, and she is full of creative ideas to make the photos special. Specifically as a dance photographer, she is hard to beat. Her personal background as a ballet dancer is incredibly valuable in knowing the timing and nature of a dancer so that she can get the shot at the perfect moment. No matter how I feel about myself at the time of the shoot, I am always confident that the photos will be flattering. I am also a huge fan of her work with children, and her wedding/engagement photos are breathtaking. She makes me never want to use another photographer. read more

I've known Katie for a while now and have seen her photography work dealing with a variety of subjects. I have long admired her ability to captures people's personalities and the mood of a given time, place or environment. She has a unique eye, so I was elated to hire her as my photographer for my retro/1950's-themed wedding ceremony and reception. Prior to the wedding, she asked me about my vision, then got back to me with her ideas for poses, props, locales, etc. She also listened to what I wanted as the bride, and the result was amazing memories to treasure forever.
