Potato and chickpea bowl ($8)
Rachel S.

This place has refreshing and flavorful Indian inspired food for a surprisingly good price. The staff were very friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. They have an entire vegan menu with everything less than $8-9. Unfortunately, they won't be making soya chaap anymore, and the staff also informed me that they were going to have tofu in the future. I ended up getting the chickpea/potato bowl ($8) and samosas ($6) which were both great. The food was ready in just a few minutes, and the bowl had warm rice and protein balanced with a chilled salad. I liked that you can customize the spice level. I got mild which was milder than expected, but the samosas had a bit more spice in them. Overall a hidden gem, and I look forward to being back!

What a delightful experience! Had the chicken cilantro roll, paneer roll and samosas. All were fresh and very tasty. I look forward to coming back and trying more items. So glad to have a quick, healthy and tasty option in the area! The interior is bright, clean and comfortable with a few tables to eat in and a few more outside. The service was so lovely and personable I felt like coming back just to say hi. Well, that won't happen because the food is delicious so "hi" will have to be accompanied by some delicious food.

The corn beef empanadas was surprisingly yummy, I didn't think it would be very yummy but it was. The brussel sprouts we always get because it's the best bussels ever. I usually get the chicken pad Thai because who doesn't love pad Thai, it wasn't too sweet which I prefer. My hubby got the curry, its very favorable but would have been well balanced with rice. The puff rice is not enough to balance the flavor of the curry. Our service was great! Always attentive but too attentive, our waiter always made sure our waters were filled and if we needed anything.

The restaurant was extremely busy, so I expected a bit of a wait. However, the service was much slower than expected. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and one of the four kids' meals we ordered never came out. After waiting around 45 minutes, instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the issue, the manager approached us and immediately became argumentative about how many kids' meals had been ordered. I wasn't looking for a confrontation--I simply wanted the missing meal. I actually had to stop the conversation and tell him that if he came over just to argue, I wasn't interested. That interaction really left a bad impression. As for the food, it was a mix of highs and lows. The blue crab dip was easily the standout of the meal--rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. It's absolutely worth ordering. The edamame was also well prepared and made for a great appetizer. Unfortunately, the gnocchi was the complete opposite. It arrived ice cold, lacked flavor, and was one of the most disappointing entrées I've had. For roughly $45 between my meal and wine, I expected a much better experience. While I appreciate that they offered a Kids Eat Free promotion, the long wait, missing meal, and poor handling of the situation overshadowed that benefit. The restaurant itself has a sleek, contemporary atmosphere that's great for groups or families, but the lack of attentive service and the manager's approach to customer concerns made the experience far less enjoyable. I hope they've improved since my visit, because the blue crab dip alone deserves recognition, but based on this experience, I wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

We didn't have reservations but I only took about 20 minutes for us to get seated. Our server was great and food and drinks came out in a timely manner. We ordered a pizza, some tacos, a chicken entree and one of the specials. We started off with the artichoke dip. Portion sizes were good and the food came out hot. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because all of the food was slightly under seasoned and didn't have much personality flavor wise. Overall we had a great time it's a nice location the service was great the food was cooked well and hot and the drinks were good. Just flavor and seasoning wise about a 6 out of 10

It was quite full and a little noisy but as the meal went on it started clearing out. We ordered a few drinks and an appetizer for tonight's meal. The Chili Nachos were way better than expected. The nachos were piled high and the flavor of the chili was phenomenal. The nachos were so filling that's all we ate for dinner and we still had a good amount left over. The Watermelon Ranch Water was a nice refreshing lite drink, perfect for summer. I had to get a Nona Sunset because it's my fav drink every time I go to Canvas. Food and drinks were great, the only negative was that the server took longer to check on us, so we had to wait quite a bit in between when ordering each item.

Figured my chances were slim, but Tonya (or perhaps Tonia) the manager ensured that my dining dreams came true. She was very helpful, fitting us in at 8:30. It's a classy feel inside with lighting that sets the mood, as well as cohesive fixtures and accents. Tablet menus? Yes. That's a thing here. Our server did a great job taking care of us. All our needs were met with finesse. As for the food, so delicious! I would normally go for the Lobster Mac & Cheese, which is to die for, but I like to switch things up. The Mahi Mahi Sandwich didn't disappoint. The regular mac & cheese that I had for my side is some of the best around town. The cocktails are flawless. My Mint Julep and Manhattan were perfectly crafted and 100% satisfying. This place is consistent and will not let you down. Looking forward to my next visit.

For the food, the best item on the bbq chicken platter was the creamed corn. There was a perfect crunch on top and the cream paired very well with the sweet corn. I believe it had jalapeños in it but there barely was any spice. The bbq chicken tasted just like you would imagine it and the fries weren't anything special. My girlfriend really enjoyed the lobster mac & cheese. Just like the creamed corn, my girlfriend complimented the crunch on top of the entree. We both liked the spinach dip and the chips were lightly seasoned well too. For the drinks, we got the baby blue cosmo and the espresso martini. The martini was good and the cosmo was pretty strong for it being a restaurant.

So upon entry we were greeted and wished a Happy Anniversary from the hostess and then again from each person who interacted with us. I always appreciate attention to detail and small things that take notice. Our server and assistants were fantastic. There was never a time or moment to have even a crumb on the table that they weren't cleaning off. We both ordered the Moss as our cocktail, and my husband prefers a mezcal so he switched the regular tequila for one of the many they had to offer. He was also excited to learn new brands that most other places don't have. I enjoy a light and refreshing cocktail and that's exactly what Moss was with the cucumber and yuzu was perfect for this hot summer evening to start with. For appetizers we had the Nami nuggets which were fantastic, sliced thin, extra crunchy with lemon and dipping sauce, literally the perfect bite. My husband had the octopus (I'm not a fan), but he said it was the best octopus he'd ever had! We shared the lobster and fried rice for dinner and honestly we took a bunch home for leftovers because it was so much food! 2.5 pounds of lobster in total between the cracked shells and what's added to the fried rice. At the end we just went with the dessert they offered us for free because we were stuffed and couldn't eat another bite. We both tried it and agreed we weren't fans of lemongrass ice cream but we appreciated the thought. The pineapple compote and crumble were excellent though. Overall, Nami is a fantastic date and special occasion restaurant. Excellent food and service. We'll be back in the fall when the king crab comes back!

Instead, I found salvation at Lake Nona's Miller's Ale House, my sister's favorite place to eat. The Flight-Delay Forgiveness Tour: Miller's Ale House Edition After my flight from New York decided to linger in the clouds long enough for me to consider the nutritional value of the airplane's headrest covers, and I touched down in Lake Nona with a hunger so ravenous that I was ready to seize the first edible object I saw. My sister's suggestion and my hunger led us here. I sought penance for my travel delays in the form of the Brunch Burger. This was no mere sandwich; it was a half-pound premium beef patty crowned with a majestic fried egg, peppered bacon, and a creamy red chili sauce that acted as a peace treaty for my grumbling stomach. It was so juicy and well-executed that with every bite, it practically whispered a formal apology for every minute I spent on the tarmac. My sister, meanwhile, opted for the English Pub Fish & Chips. The white fish was beer-battered to such a flaky, golden perfection that it almost attempted to swim right off the plate and back to the Atlantic. But let's discuss the real MVP: the seasoned fries. These were the antithesis of the 'double-dropped' or over-fried tragedies found elsewhere; they were crunchy, precision-seasoned, and undeniably fresh. We didn't leave a single stub behind. In fact, had there been a lone crumb remaining, we might have engaged in a territorial dispute over it like a pair of frantic seagulls at the pier. Miller's didn't just provide a meal; they provided a 'salvation' from a stressful day of travel. If you're looking for a place where the food is as bold as the energy in the room, this is your front-row seat. I didn't try it this time, but if you love sweets like me, you should definitely try the Captain Jack's Buried Treasure cake--You won't regret it. Psst, just so you know: it's definitely a treat to share.

Since they are newly opened, we understand they are still finding their rhythm, and the food came out quickly with fresh ingredients and great flavor, giving it more of a fast-food style experience. The goat curry was especially delicious and thoughtfully prepared. My only suggestion would be that the pricing feels a bit expensive, especially since sides are not included and the portions could be slightly more generous for the cost. It would also feel like a better value if a bit more rice were included, since rice is inexpensive and helps make the meal more filling. A small side salad would also be a nice addition? Overall, we appreciated the hospitality and care put into the food, and we wish this local business success.
