Barbells & BBQ - A Hidden Gem in a Food Truck!…read more What a fantastic and unexpected stop for dinner! My wife and I stumbled upon Barbells & BBQ while discussing where to eat, and I'm so glad we did. Sometimes the best meals come from unplanned detours, and this one did not disappoint. The menu is straightforward, but that's exactly what makes it shine. Instead of overwhelming you with endless options, they focus on doing a few things exceptionally well -- and it shows in the flavor and quality of every bite. My wife went with the Brisket Nachos, and they were phenomenal. Perfectly smoked brisket layered over crisp chips, cheesy goodness, and all the right toppings -- easily a dish I'd return for again and again. I chose the Brisket Sandwich paired with their Brisket Beans, and both hit the mark. The beans were some of the best I've had -- smoky, rich, and hearty. The sandwich was loaded with tender brisket; next time I'll just ask for a little extra BBQ sauce, but it was still a fantastic meal. The passion behind the food is clear, and even the owner mentioned they hope to make this spot a permanent home for the truck. I certainly hope so too -- because for a food truck, this one is at the top of the list. Lucky for me, they're only a few miles from home, which means I'll be back very soon. If you love BBQ, do yourself a favor and track them down -- your taste buds will thank you.

Price: pricey for portion size - lobster roll is a hotdog bun size. Saltiness/seasoning: everything was just bland - the lobster tasted like the butter, and the bisque tasted like it was watered down. Temperature: Waited in line for fresh, the lobster roll was warm and cold at the same time, and the bisque was watered down with no lobster chunks and cold. Pre-Packaged: The Woopied Pie was premade/prepacked and is frozen solid, it is inedible. -Lobster Roll, plus bisque, plus woopie pie was over $40 and that did not include the mandatory tip. Always wanted to try it - now I have, not returning (over-priced, bland, pre-made). UPDATE: I was able to speak with Bethanie, the Customer Relations Manager, for about 10-15 minutes to discuss my concerns. Our conversation was helpful, and it appears this was likely an isolated incident. I've agreed to visit the OKC truck the next time it's in town and will update my review afterward. Because of the professional and thoughtful customer service interaction, I'm updating my rating from one (1) star to two (2) stars. How a company handles concerns can shape how the overall experience is remembered, and it's clear Cousins Maine Lobster has passionate people behind their brand.

It didn't take long for our meal to be ready but others told us that they had waited an hour in previous visits. I had the lobster and tots, the pico was delicious and really put the dish over the top. I also had the clam chowder which was fantastic. My husband had the lobster tacos which were terrific and loaded with big pieces of meat. He chose the lobster bisque as well but sadly neither of us liked it and we definitely recommend the clam chowder.

The dipping sauce was great but a little spicier than my taste but it was still so good I ate it. I had an egg roll also. It was great. I dipped it in the sauce too so I guess it wasn't that spicy. My husband had the Korean Bowl with a salad. He really enjoyed it. It was a huge amount of food. He only ate half of it. I gave them 4 stars because of the wait time. We waited 45 minutes for our food after we ordered. There were several people there not happy with the wait time. They had come to our neighborhood so everyone gets there pretty much at the same time. Maybe when they are in a parking lot with no rush it might be faster. They would have easily gotten 5 stars from me if the wait hadn't been so long. The food was 5 star worthy.

I arrived around 7:40-7:50 PM, hoping to try the new strawberry lemonade ice cream. When I walked in, there were about 9 or 10 people already inside. The employee behind the counter was making ice cream, and I could clearly see several order tickets waiting. I completely understood that she was busy, so I patiently waited. The problem wasn't the wait--it was that my order was never taken. I stood in line, and when it became obvious she was focused on finishing the orders she was already working on, I sat down to wait. I assumed that once she finished those orders, she would take mine. I wasn't going to interrupt her or complain because I understand that businesses get busy. While I was waiting, two customers came back inside to pick up orders they had already placed, which made perfect sense. After that, four additional customers walked in after me: a little girl with braids wearing a karate uniform, a boy wearing a green T-shirt and shorts, a man with a beard wearing a black baseball cap, black T-shirt, and black pants, and a woman carrying a brown bag. I'm including these descriptions simply to identify the group I'm referring to--not to criticize them. My issue is not with those customers. They had every right to order. What frustrated me was that they appeared to be with the group that had already placed orders, and they were discussing what to get while waiting. When the employee finally began taking new orders, she took their orders before ever acknowledging me, even though I had been waiting much longer. I understand that employees can't control who walks into the store or who knows each other. However, they can control the order in which customers are acknowledged and served. Had my order simply been taken when I first arrived--or even before taking orders from customers who entered after me--this entire situation could have been avoided. Instead, I spent over 20 minutes waiting, only to leave without ever placing an order. I walked out around 8:04 PM, disappointed and without the ice cream I came for. I usually have quick, positive experiences here and have never felt the need to leave a review. This is actually my first negative review because this experience was so frustrating. I wasn't upset about waiting--I was upset because I was completely overlooked while customers who arrived after me had their orders taken first. If the owner happens to read this, this occurred on Tuesday, July 7, between approximately 7:45 PM and 8:04 PM. I'm writing this review at 8:15 PM, immediately after leaving the business, because I wanted to accurately document what happened. I'm not writing this review just to criticize the business. I've been here several times before and have always enjoyed coming. I live in Yukon, so it's a bit of a drive, and I don't always make it before closing. When I do have the chance to come to Cool Cups, I look forward to it. That's why tonight was If the owner would like to contact me or review what happened, I encourage you to check your security camera footage from Tuesday, July 7, between approximately 7:45 PM and 8:04 PM. It will show that I waited patiently the entire time without complaining or trying to cut ahead of anyone. After standing for a while, I sat down because I believed the employee would take my order once she finished the orders she was already working on. Instead, I was overlooked, and customers who arrived after me had their orders taken first. I also want to make it clear that I'm not trying to blame or criticize the employee personally. She appeared to be the only one working the front, and I understand she may have been overwhelmed by how busy it was. I don't know if someone called in or if there was another reason for the short staffing, because on my previous visits there have usually been more employees working. With the hot weather, I understand an ice cream shop can get extremely busy. My concern isn't about one employee having a tough shift--it's simply that I don't believe a customer who has been waiting the longest should be overlooked while customers who arrived later have their orders taken first.
