For the cookies, we really liked the peanut butter. The chocolate chip was not my favorite but since everything else was so good, I'm thinking it might have been a fluke with that batch. As you can tell from my pictures, I came for the Gilmore Girls themed day, A Day in the Hallow. I showed up 10 minutes after they opened and waited 2 hours in line for this event and was very late to a friends' birthday party BUT was it worth it? I think so. I started coming here a few months ago for a networking event and have enjoyed everything I've gotten. The dessert case is always full of delicious treats, many of which are vegan or gluten free. They have lots of options for teas and coffee as well. I've noticed they can be slow to clean up tables after people leave, but with as big of a group as we normally have, I understand waiting until the group clears to clean up. Sweet Friends is a beautifully decorated bakery with wide open spaces for groups or families to hang out and munch of treats. We initially stopped by because we were researching custom cake bakeries for a birthday party but after all that was done, we picked up some food and were delighted by how tasty everything was. Speaking of the custom cake, the owner was super warm and friendly when we asked her a ton of questions - she gave us great suggestions, fair pricing, and thoughtful responses to all our concerns. If you live in/close to the Edmond area, you'd be hard pressed to find a better bakery for cakes and treats from a group of people who are super approachable and price conscious. There's a great little corner that they've set up for children to play and read books, which is a huge load off for parents who may just need that microsecond to pay for a food order. The play and eating spaces were all clean and open with a large selection of toys, and the bathrooms were well maintained and had changing stations, which is always a welcome sight. Overall, Sweet Friends Bakery lives up to its name by the nature of their sweet employees. I finally gave up on this business. I have made at least two trips to this bakery only to find it was closed. (Not a quick drive for me, either.). I've dropped by while in the area to find it closed, or to find that they were very limited on goodies. The last time I called to ask if they were open before going, and the young lady told me they were, and then proceeded to tell me all the wonderful things they have in the menu. When my mouth was sufficiently watering, she then added,"but you can't come today, we're closed to the public for a special event". Overall, I have managed to go in about three times and have a bite to eat and a coffee. The food was good and the staff was friendly. Im not sure why they can't do a decaf Americana? The decaf pour over is very acidic. I even asked for extra half and half (add 90 cents) both times to cut the bitterness and it didn't work. I don't know if they are just really small in their half and half portions and that's why it's bitter? It's the worst decaf I've ever had and I've drank decaf for decades. I even asked for a hazelnut flavoring added (another 90 cents). Could not taste the hazelnut flavoring. Not sure if they forgot to add the flavoring or if they just use such small portions that I couldn't taste it. So my coffee and pumpkin bar was $12 with tax, which is okay. But I really want to like this place, just something is not right with the decaf coffee there. Maybe I will try tea next time. read more

They have so many unique drinks, including different spins on matcha which I love, and a beautiful interior. So I called one random day to see if they could make a Spider-Man cake for my delicious boy (yah--I know calling my 3yo a delicious boy is an issue in and of itself--move on people!!) first off, the gal that answered the phone was utterly delightful and made me feel like she took ownership of my request and was more than up for the task. I picked up my cake, which was unbelievably reasonably priced, and while there, I was swooning over how lovely this quaint little bakery was. I would spend every waking moment here if I didn't have tiny children a job and a desire to not be a thick woman for the rest of my life. While there I spotted a plethora of other baked goods I wanted to shove in my face in a dark closet where no one could see me engage in a knee deep fit of gluttony. I digress. Since my boys birthday is relatively close to my hubby's I opted to also buy the husby a couple of their giant macaroons and good LORD Sally they were magnificent!!! The absolute BEST bakery in Edmond, and maybe even the state!! The owner has been such a joy to work with. We came to her with a special family recipe requested by my fiancé. We had tried dozens of other bakeries, many saying that it can't be done, or they attempted, and it tasted off. None of them could really come close. We were beginning to lose hope. Until we came to Sweet Friends Bakery!! The owner, Nicole is the only one who as ever come close to making our family recipe, a Banana Nut Cake. It's an unusual request for a wedding cake, and she not only agreed to do it for us, but she did it perfectly. We are also getting a variety of cupcakes for the wedding! That was the first thing I noticed about them! They have one of the largest cupcake varieties I have EVER seen! And they are SO good! We have been dealing with a family member who is losing a battle to a terminal illness. So it's made planning a little bit hectic, and it's been really hard some days. The Owner is one of the nicest people I have ever worked with, and she is really talented at what she does. Her bakery items, especially her cake and cupcakes not only taste amazing, but they are so beautiful. You can tell she really enjoys what she does, and puts love into the food she makes.
