Great place for weekend breakfast! I went here with my breakfast group for our monthly meetup on a March Saturday morning. I am grateful to OKC food writer Greg Horton for mentioning La Baguette as a good breakfast spot in a piece that I read recently. Our server recommended the crepes as a standout breakfast item, and they delivered. My companions ordered the crepes normandie, while I ordered the crepes parisienne. What a delight! I hesitate to order some breakfast items because I prefer mildly sweet things. I like pancakes and French toast with just a drizzle of syrup, and I only need a thin layer of jelly on my toast. This strawberry crepe was delicious! They put strawberries and whipped cream inside a crepe, folded it over a few times, and then mounded some more strawberries and whipped cream on top. No other toppings needed! I tried the crepe by itself and was delighted to find that it had a mild taste. The strawberries were surprisingly ripe for March. Kudos to them for finding a great supplier of late winter/early spring strawberries! Also, the whipped cream tasted great mixed in with my hot tea. Ate at the Bistro for the first time. All other visits have been to the bakery...5 stars for the incredible desserts!! At the Bistro, which was quaint and a little dark, we were seated promptly and water brought to the table. Drink orders taken, but it took 15 minutes for just a plain latte. Our waitress was quite loud and forward. It was a little unsettling and to be honest it kept me from asking questions. I didn't want to be yelled at. It felt condescending. We had The Judge burger, quite tasty, but the sunny side up eggs were overdone on the bottom of the yolk. They were cooked hard and the egg white was not cooked around the yolk. I removed the eggs. Just can't eat an egg white that is not cooked. The fries were a disappointment. They were skinnier than McDonalds and no fluffy center to them. They were extremely crispy. I would have rather had McDonalds fries with this burger. The special was a wrap and we got a side salad. It was pretty good and enough for two people! Overall the food was just OK, but not great. Nice quite late lunch. This is a cozy dimmed bistro. Very nice inside with a beautiful bar area. Sat us by the Oster bar, which is strange too me. Ordered the quiche that came with a weird soup of celery and mushrooms. Seemed just a creamy soup with tiny bits ground into it. The quiche was good but choose a different soup. Another Dr visit, another restaurant to try that we had not been to before. We love ethnic restaurants! We were seated quickly, the decor is pleasant and the wait staff is attentive and pleasant. BUYER BEWARE: when you are in the bakery you will see a reasonable listed price. If you choose to order a bakery item and eat it on the restaurant side, there will be a massive markup. I ordered a mini mouse that was supposed to be $2.95 and I was billed for seven dollars. The $4.50 cannoli ended up being $9 and my friend's red velvet cake which should've been $5.50 was $9. I have not been to this restaurant for more than 5 years, their decorations are still the same, prices are not that much higher with inflation. They give a very generous amount of bread and butter, they taste very fresh, I wish it is house butter instead of prepackaged ones. The Rockefeller oysters have good flavor, they have small oysters, personally I prefer larger oysters with this dish. Foie gras is good with jam, I just wish there is more jam. I love my mixed seafood with jasmine rice, which hits my spot. They cooked shrimps to perfection. An exceptional dining experience from start to finish! The escargot was rich and flavorful, the oysters on the half shell were incredibly fresh -- and even better with their amazing Wednesday half-price special! Everything my husband and I ate from here was fabulous. He had the French dip on a baguette and I had a pecan chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. The dressings for our salads were fresh and delicious with homemade baguette croutons on top. The quality of the meats was top notch and my husband said his baguette was crispy on the outside, soft inside, exactly as it should be! The service was wonderful, we will definitely be back for dinner at some point. The desserts are divine. We got them to go from the bakery, my favorite was the Italian cream cake. This place has the BEST chocolate I have ever tasted. Their Chocolate Mousse Cake is the only chocolate cake to eat in the US. I have drove to OKC twice and flown in once for this cake. iI asked my husband to bring me here for V-Day this past year, and we just stopped by on our cross country road trip this week for a couple pieces to go!! First and foremost thank you La Baguette for helping my wife and I have one of the very best Valentines evenings out we have had in a long time. The atmosphere was palpable on Friday night, everyone was happy. The patrons, the servers, all other staff...a perfect environment, along with the decor. Our dinner was spectacular. There are three places where I always eat when I'm in Oklahoma City: Cattleman's, Cheever's and La Baguette. They turn out some remarkably authentic and delicious French dishes with incredible consistency and quality. I love their brunch menu but this time we got there a little late so I substituted a croque madame instead. Good choice! The ham was first-rate and the béchamel was perfect. Nice eggs too. I've always had excellent service at La Baguette too, another reason to go. This was a great place! They think that they are so posh and fancy so I went with that vibe as well by talking in a British accent for all of my experience. I ordered the Saint Barth sandwich but my lips apparently wanted so say the Saint barf sandwich so I practice saying it like five times before the waiter showed up, then I possessed to say, "the Saint Barth sandwich please" to the waiters face and she gave me a look that said "uncivilized ****" later I then got the sandwich and it had extra harsh Dijon mustard on it and it took a bite and started to cry like the little ***** I am because it entered my nostals after taking a bite. The waiter then came over and asked if I was ok and I just told her no and continued to cry for the rest of my meal while people stared at me. 5/5 experience! This is one of my new favorite spots. I've been here like 10 times in the last two months. They have great food, great cocktails, and are attached to one of the most unique grocery stores in OKC. They also have a wine store and a bakery, which isn't totally my thing, but I'm sure other people enjoy them. I'm addicted to the Beef Tartare. I've had the Beef Tartare at Vast and Mary Eddy's and I think La Baguette's is the best because they go with a classic recipe that is exactly what you'd expect, thereby satisfying the craving. The other two do weird spins on it that distract from the rawness of the dish. Mary Eddy's is pretty good but has a garlic aioli that you would find on a cheap burger. Vast's is a perfect of example of when creativity goes wrong. It's super sweet and ends up tasting kinda like a Teriyaki beef tartare. Very strange. The French Onion Soup is great as well, though admittedly it would be a total travesty if a place called LA BAGUETTE didn't have a great French Onion. Every bite is jam-packed with onions, which is how it should be. Idk how a lot of these places get away with a beef broth soup, but nobody will ever complain about a lack of onions in La Baguette's. The steaks have tons of options for different cuts, sauces, and sides. I'm a variety freak so that's a huge plus. Unfortunately, I always order the same thing so never really get to experiment with these. The cocktails are suitably strong. I know this because I don't even remember how much they are because they are suitably strong. My server is for some reason always Olivia, but she's perfect so that's not a complaint. Service in general is always superb. Your bread basket is replenished before you ask and the same goes for drinks. The ambience is classy and intimate, but at the same time fairly casual. Ideal for a date or small group. The grocery store has tons of stuff that I've never seen anywhere else and a HUGE amount of fresh premade dishes, sides, and raw meats. Everything is super high quality. I usually go here after dinner and then eat off of whatever I bought the next couple days. My only complaint is the aggregate total I spend here each month, which I don't plan on investigating further. read more

I used to buy cakes from here all the time, but a few weeks ago I was very disappointed with their cakes. I was sold a cake from display case that was OLD, it probably had been sitting for 2 or 3 days. When we got home it just did not taste fresh and by the second day it was not edible and I had to throw it away. The sad thing is that when I asked the lady if it was fresh she assured me it was. Stopped in La Baguette for our anniversary dinner! I've stopped in here for years to grab a quick dessert since they're affordable and delicious! We enjoyed two appetizer along with the house red wine. Our appetizers the escargot and pecan brie was delicious! I am not a fan of escargot but it seemed well prepared and the presentation of all of it was fantastic! We both enjoyed our meals thoroughly! I will be back for the chicken and mushroom crepes. Just removed a star for the prices, they are definitely trying to cater to a certain clientele but the some of the menu prices for the appetizers and entrees seemed a bit overpriced in my opinion.
