Review update! This…read moreis my favorite place! I have finally mastered making an appointment in advance. The staff are extremely welcoming and nice. They always have good music playing as well. I typically do a gel pedicure and dip nails. I've never had any issues and they last a very long time. Good news- they recently moved to a new location! The set up is extremely cute and it is much larger. Looking forward to continuing visiting in their new spot.

Went in for Gel X manicure. I had builder gel on my nails when I went in for my appointment. The…read morenail tech I had soaked my nails for 5 minutes, then sanded them down. She did not soak the gel completely off (as other nail techs here have done in the past). I requested short almond nails. She put the nails on, but left a gap between my cuticle and nail (no other nail tech there has done that before) and then cut them down, but then started to round the tips. After the 3rd time of telling her I wanted them shorter than what she had them, I just gave up....additionally after asking several times to sharpen the edges to make them look more almond instead of oval. She did a half efforted check of making sure the lengths of the nails were even, which some of them are not. Then the nail polish came on. She put 3 coats on, but there are bubbles in 3 of them and visible brush strokes on one. I usually don't post bad reviews especially involving this nail salon, because I've had my nails done a few times here and they have always been on point and have been exactly what I asked for. It's just disappointing because I paid $75 for nails that don't look good and aren't what I wanted.

I've returned to Jeannie Nails a few times since my last review but haven't been as happy with my…read moreexperiences. For one mani/pedi the end result was average but resulted in quick chipping - even for my toes which are typically easy to maintain. My last visit was more awkward with me being greeted and asked to not sign in, but to maybe come back later. The option to wait wasn't offered and the suggested return time was a guess, not a confirmation of a time. After leaving I remembered that I'd seen this happened to others while I was in the chair getting my nails done. It has discouraged me from recommending this salon because I wouldn't want people to have the same experience. I'm updating my review while sitting at another salon. Will likely not return to Jeannie's.

20/100 - 2018 Yelp Review Challenge…read more Waayyyyy better! THE GOOD : A friend recommended me to this place, she's a regular and I have to say I am in love. It's close to work, it's totally affordable, its clean, and the staff is friendly! There were two technicians working, one lady was older than the other and I'm pretty sure she was the owner. My mom got her, and I got the other lady (sorry, I don't know her name ). My lady didn't talk much, which I like. I've always hated going to nail salons and making small talk. My technician was very thorough and clean. She paid very close attention to details. Compared to my last nail experience these were impeccable. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo before they started growing out. But I've had them for over a week now, and the only chip I have is from where my already torn nail when I received the service ripped all the way off. I knew this would happen. I got a pedicure, and a gel manicure and it was $55 in total, which I think was pretty reasonable. Especially because of all the amenities that came with the manicure. THE BAD - The bad really isn't even that bad, but I'm sort of a germaphobe. One part of the manicure I didn't like was the paraffin wax dip. It was cool because I have never had one at a nail place before, but it's also very unsanitary. It know I could have opt'd out (and I should have for time reasons) but I didn't think about it until after my first dip lol. OVERALL - I think I have found my new nail place, but I won't be doing the paraffin wax.

Pricing for the little girls is $10 for mani and $25 for pedi. For the pedi they have them soak their feet and then trim the nails and massage them before painting them. I did ask the nail tech twice to do every other nail with pink and purple but she just did the one color and then one ring finger painted different. She did do every other for her feet after I asked again.

Nothing dramatic, nothing…read morecomplicated, just the soft pink nude look with a whisper of chrome and I showed a photo for inspiration . Instead, I walked out with something completely different: a white, frosty, color-shifting chrome that I never chose, never asked for, and would have never picked for myself. From the beginning, both the tech and the man in the salon (likely the owner) acted like my request was "complex," even though nude chrome is one of the less complex not to say the easiest styles. She gave me a color catalogue, I tried to be understanding, maybe my inspiration picture wasn't perfect, maybe shades vary, so I have chosen again a very nude pink chrome on the catalogue too just to make sure we all agree on the color, but I didn't even get the color I selected from their own catalogue and I somehow ended up with a blinding icy frosty chrome that looks nothing like the sample in their book or my picture. Under different lighting, the color shifts between white and pink/violet the classic beetle shell effect which is the exact opposite of the soft SHEER nude I requested. I even tried checking the color during the process. Every time she finished a hand, I wanted to look before curing; totally normal AND EXPECTED. Some salons even ask you to do so. But she wouldn't let me. She rushed me to put my hand under the lamp immediately, three or four times in a row, she would say " put your hand under the lamp!! " and won't let me take a look which makes it very clear she knew the color didn't match what I asked for and she was rushing to get the next client, I couldn't actually see the final result until the very end, when it was already too late and her next client was already getting her service !!!! That's to describe how rushed was the service. I forgot to mention that at the very beginning she kept bouncing between my manicure and someone else's pedicure! Unprofessional! The "massage" that was supposedly included was a joke, a tiny bit of lotion on one arm and less of anything on the other. She even almost pulled off my watch and smeared the band with the chrome powder because AGAIN she was rushing so much. I came with simple expectations, and I left with something I didn't want and didn't choose. I tipped the minimum to be fair because the salon is clean and the tools looked hygienic, and on a more positive note she was gentle with the filing and my cuticles, yes this is bare minimum and any salon should offer it, yet I do appreciate these little details; unfortunately it doesn't make up for a service that ignored everything I asked for. Sadly you haven't just botched a simple manicure but you lost what could have been a very loyal client!
