I've returned to Jeannie Nails a few times since my last review but haven't been as happy with my experiences. For one mani/pedi the end result was average but resulted in quick chipping - even for my toes which are typically easy to maintain. My last visit was more awkward with me being greeted and asked to not sign in, but to maybe come back later. The option to wait wasn't offered and the suggested return time was a guess, not a confirmation of a time. After leaving I remembered that I'd seen this happened to others while I was in the chair getting my nails done. It has discouraged me from recommending this salon because I wouldn't want people to have the same experience. I'm updating my review while sitting at another salon. Will likely not return to Jeannie's. read more

20/100 - 2018 Yelp Review Challenge Waayyyyy better! THE GOOD : A friend recommended me to this place, she's a regular and I have to say I am in love. It's close to work, it's totally affordable, its clean, and the staff is friendly! There were two technicians working, one lady was older than the other and I'm pretty sure she was the owner. My mom got her, and I got the other lady (sorry, I don't know her name ). My lady didn't talk much, which I like. I've always hated going to nail salons and making small talk. My technician was very thorough and clean. She paid very close attention to details. Compared to my last nail experience these were impeccable. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo before they started growing out. But I've had them for over a week now, and the only chip I have is from where my already torn nail when I received the service ripped all the way off. I knew this would happen. I got a pedicure, and a gel manicure and it was $55 in total, which I think was pretty reasonable. Especially because of all the amenities that came with the manicure. THE BAD - The bad really isn't even that bad, but I'm sort of a germaphobe. One part of the manicure I didn't like was the paraffin wax dip. It was cool because I have never had one at a nail place before, but it's also very unsanitary. It know I could have opt'd out (and I should have for time reasons) but I didn't think about it until after my first dip lol. OVERALL - I think I have found my new nail place, but I won't be doing the paraffin wax. read more

A little hidden gem. My husband and I drove down to this area from Cincinnati for some meetings. I searched yelp for a nail salon to get a mani & pedi and chose Jeannie's based on other reviews. I'm not disappointed. Very friendly techs, clean salon, and great mani/pedi service. They do not have Essie polish, only OPI, but the selection is vast and the quality is great. Nothing fancy or attractive about the interior of the salon, but as a NYC girl this wasn't an issue for me. Cleanliness and quality comes at a much higher priority than a fancy interior when it comes to nail salons, in my opinion. The other review that went into detail about the services was spot on... I received all the luxurious bells & whistles for the low price of $35 total. I highly recommend! read more

They do outstanding service and go above and beyond. They know me by name. I love that it's small and not busy or over crowded. There are usually just 2 ladies working and they are just so wonderful! True to the reviews! In town for work, had a free afternoon and was in desperate need of a manicure. Jeannie Nails didn't disappoint. It is true that the atmosphere is nothing special. It's a very small salon with four nail stations and two pedicure chairs. It was also in pretty rough shape. Parts of the floor were torn up and covered with wooden boards as it appeared some work was being done on the floor and plumbing behind the pedi chairs. Overall the place was clean and the staff was friendly! I received a great oil treatment on my cuticles, a nice hand and arm massage (although brief) and a paraffin wax treatment as part of the gel manicure! The gal that did my nails worked carefully and in the end they looked absolutely flawless! Absolutely worth the $30 price tag, which seems to be about average for a gel manicure these days. I will also note that the women were very patient and understanding when the child of another gal getting a mani/pedi had an accident in the waiting area. They were quick to clean up and very reassuring to the customer and the small child who were both embarrassed. Nice to see that level of patience and care in dealing with an awkward situation. read more

This place is wonderful. The ladies working were kind and made sure my friend and I were taken care of. It's nothing fancy. Only two pedicure chairs with nice massages and four manicure stations, but the ladies were the star of the place. They were patient when I took forever choosing a color and enjoyable to talk to. It was affordable for my budget at $25 for a pedi, so I splurged and got the mani/pedi for $35. The area was very clean and I was thankful to see some one cleaning the tools immediately after they were used. It was great for a girls day, but is too small for a group larger than four. This is now my mani/pedi place and I will be taking my sister when she comes to visit over the summer. read more

I can say this is a super friendly environment! Loved that it didn't feel awkward to have conversation. But that's about the only thing give that came out of getting my nails done here. My nails looked good. For about 3 days. I got a full set, gel nails! 50 dollars, not too bad but higher than I've gotten done! But if it's worth it than I don't mind. But it's not. It's currently been 6 days, almost a week, three of my gel nails have peeled off. They've gotten very dull and I don't do any hard work on my hands. All my nails feel very weak weak. And many have already started to lift, and even chipped! The color range there isn't the biggest and couldn't do ombré. She didn't understand coffin shape. She made the shape but rounded out. So I had to ask twice for the tops to be filled down more( not that big of an issue like I said if they stayed idc but they haven't)! There's only two people that work here! So very short staffed, I had to wait for two women to finishing getting to even start! My original nails weren't even cut so they were sticking to the nails anyways! My cuticles were cut! And I tipped 5$ anyways. So I paid 55$ in total for this..I almost argued but what's done is done. I warn u getting gel here or acrylic! read more

I was in town for my bridal shower (fiance is from KY) and my nails were in pretty rough shape. This place is right near his 'hood in Plainview so I decided to drop in on a Saturday afternoon. Although there were only 2 women, they got to me right away. I got a mani/pedi and it was one of the best I've ever had! And at $35 for both you can't beat that! (In DC $35 will get you a basic pedicure--that's it!) My tech was efficient scrubbing my feet to remove callouses (They don't do the razor thing which some people like/don't like). But what really rocked was the manicure. She put my hands in these baggies of oil and then in this heated mittens to let the moisture soak in. And then I got to do a paraffin wax dip for my hands after that. Did I mention this was $35?! Wow, when I come back to Louisville I'm definitely coming back. read more

I've been traveling on the road the whole week and I felt I needed some "me" time. I wanted to go for a mani/pedi and decided to come here based on the reviews. Even if it was a 9 mile drive from where I was staying, I was glad to have made the trip. The place was welcoming and relaxed. The technicians were also very engaging and accommodating. The place was very clean and all tools were clearly washed and sterilized. I was totally satisfied with my experience and best of all, I found the gel colour I wanted "did you ear about van gogh" by OPI. Highly recommended! read more

I was looking for a place in Middletown for my daughter to get a pedicure in between errands. Stopped in on a weekday at 5:00 pm and they took her right away. Cute little shop. Very friendly and welcoming. Two ladies were working that day. They have 3 comfortable massage chairs for pedicures. My biggest concern with an unknown nail shop was cleanliness. Reviews for this place were good and I agree. Sanitizers at every work station. They did an excellent job on the pedicure! Would definitely come back! read more

I almost hate to share how much I love Jeannie Nails because I always want to be able to get an appointment, but they deserve a stellar review. First, I called for the first appointment of the day and they accommodated me by coming in early. Their massage chairs are in excellent shape and have a variety of nice settings. The owner/manager was friendly and welcoming and the technician who did my mani/pedi was kind, attentive, and skilled. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent there, and found it really relaxing. I was racing to another appointment, and didn't let my nails fully dry. Usually I am careful, but this time the car door fell shut on my hand. The smoothed and pressed out the flaws (all my fault!) and then invited me to swing back to get them repaired. I came back a few hours later, and after waiting only 5 or so minutes, the nail technician quickly repaired my three wrecked nails. They didn't charge even though I was the one who messed it up. Of course, I tipped again. This time, I waited faithfully for them to dry. It has been a week, with a plain mani/pedi and there is NO CHIPPING! I love this place and will go back again and again when I am in town (live away/visit family often here) read more

I just moved to KY and I was looking for a place to get my nails done for New Years Eve. I found them online and the reviews showed 5/5. They were right around the corner and sounded reasonably priced. It was a quaint little place with 2 pedi chairs and 2 mani booths. The 2 woman were pleasant BUT the mani I received was the worst I've ever had. As nice as the lady was, she took a chunk out of my Lt thumb cuticle, which was so big I'm still healing. And the paint job was sloppy. And to top it off, it was the gel polish, which normally if done right lasts about a month before it starts peeling up. It lasted 3 days and every single one peeled off without any help. As nice as they were and as reasonably priced as they were, I must admit I will not be going there again. read more

went because of the good reviews on yelp. ive never had my acrylics done worse, i even tipped $5 before i realized how bad they were. i payed $40 for them done half-assed. my original nail wasn't even cut before so the tops of the acrylics aren't sticking. my cuticles weren't cut so my nails have already grown out too much in a week. and i hit my nail on something & my acrylic easily popped off. the lady was nice so i give her credit but i do not recommend getting acrylics here. read more
